I don't have to actually do the daily quests to get rep?

It's a new process called Championing. It only works for Wyrmrest, Argent Crusade, Kirin Tor, and The Ebon Blade. Any regular instance of Halls of Lightning level or higher will yield some rep, while Northrend Heroics give quite a bit more.
Combine those with dailies, and some of the reputations fly by. Kirin Tor is somewhat limited in dailies, though, so they take more work through Championing.
I do agree, it's a good system.

You can't even get any of the good dailies until you hit 80 >.< But yeah, you can get rep by "Championing" in heroic dungeons. Just not nearly so fast/easily as doing dailies.
Normally, rep is awarded like so:
Respawning (non-elite) trash: 0
Respawning Elite Trash: 2-5
Elite Trash: 10-15
BIG Elite Trash: 30
Bosses: 50-250
Pro-repfarming tip: If you wipe when doing Heroic Violet Hold, you have to do the entire thing over again... However when you are redoing the waves, you get "placeholder" bosses for the bosses you have already killed. While these placeholders don't drop loot or badges, THEY GIVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF REP AS THE BOSS DID. Intentionally wiping on VH can be a crazy easy reputation farm =P

ok,so would it be worth starting sons of hodir daily quests now? cuz i already unlocked the knights of the ebon blade place(although i still have blackwatch and the duke quests from icecrown, dunno if i should do them or not)and it says im honored with them
Absolutely. Sons of Hodir not only give good rep rewards for certain classes, they are also the holders of ALL of the shoulder enchants (not to mention a couple of cool mounts =P). It's quite a lengthy quest chain that starts in K3, but the story line (if you're into that sort of thing) is one of my favourites in the game. The quest chain finishes with you having access to the dailies in Dun Niffelem. Also, as you gain more rep with Sons of Hodir, more dailies are unlocked.
EDIT: I remember a while back wowinsider had a great post about the Sons of Hodir dailies.
Here it is
.
EDIT: You can now also turn in
Relics of Ulduar
for rep, although I'm unsure of the prerequisites before you're allowed to do so (you may need to be friendly first).

You'll also make a ton of money from doing dailies, especially at 80.
