Gems stack regardless of how many you use.

You need one yellow, one blue and one red gem to activate Relentless Earthsiege Diamond .

In terms of gear, any gem can go in any slot (Except meta). they don't have to be the color of the sockets listed. the only time you would want to satisfy the color is to get the bonus it offers.

for example

Arc-Scorched Helmet

If you put your meta gem into that helm, plus a blue gem ,Solid Sky Sapphire, you will also be giving +8 critical strike rating.

Convenient knowledge for people who have JC but still use 16 AP 12 stam gems in order to meet the requirements.

what's the better option dps wise

Enchanted Tear with Delicate Scarlet Rubies for the rest of your slots
vs
Deadly Monarch Topaz and Perfect Shifting Shadow Crystal with Delicates the rest of the way.

Just wondering if i should switch from prismatic to deadly/shifting.

Edit: Changed the Deadly/Shifting line.
