Because they are lazy...no really; they are. At this point, it's them being lazy ass hats and not adding things in game when they can 'force' people to buy the collector's edition to get the actual story. It's something that is really starting to piss me off, especially with what FFXIV is doing; in a week the Monster Hunter World crossover starts...and it's not a one time event or a yearly event; once you complete the Stormblood main quest line, it's unlocked permanently and it's not going away.
I'd honestly prefer that if it came to WoW, especially since they've 'perfected' phasing somewhat; let us experience the prelaunch events no matter when you join the game. I know that I should do this stupid three week thing, but I'm being mulish because I don't care that much, but if I don't do it now, that's it, it's gone and I don't buy physical copies of the game any more. Yes it can be watched later on Youtube, but still, Blizzard really needs to rethink things like this.

#paymoreforlore? But yeah, this will probably prompt me to just miss the event.

Dat cinematic............ I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING!!!! T_T
Putting that aside though, man, this is the first time we've seen TWO CGI cinematics in a single expansion.

Yeah. And it adds a nice dimension to the Horde's different reactions to the burning without needing to buy extra media. The cinematics are really upping the game here, unlike in Warlords where they were basically just fodder that didn't actually matter in the end anyway because the warlords didn't.
By the way, are we getting anything like order halls in this expansion? It seemed to be the direction Blizz has been turning the game to make new 'residence' kind of things.

Nope, most you do is set up the embassy in Zandalar and Kul Tiras.

Something like that. At the very least, the system where we sent troops/champions on missions using a table is still there.

I hope there is more of those cinematics as the old warrior one. It's not dismissing the sylvanas is new garrosh stuff or that anduin is the ultimate good hero.
As the old QnA had us to belive.
The little we saw of sylvanas in this one but her more to the chaotic stupid evil that enjoys burning of civilians with glee. Not quite the wc3 sylvanas, or any sylvanas.

Wait till the next Chronicle comes out; I'm sure they'll put in a retcon there just like each previous one has done so far. Probably something along the lines that Garithos was misunderstood and Sylvanas was uber evil for killing him off.

Wouldn’t be surprised
And make any action sylvanas has done as stupid evil as possible.
Stillwater was executed becouse he wasnt evil enough. Sylvanas used the blood of orc orphans in that dinner scene about azerite.

I think it's unfair to compare the Sylvanas now to what she was in W3, or really any time before Wrath. When Arthas died, so went basically the lynchpin of her identity. She was literally reborn after killing herself out of despair. Since she lost her vengeance, she's been aimless, and has substituted it with her people's survival. Everything she does now is with that aim in mind.
Unfortunately, she's also a colossal !@#$%, and always has been. It's just that she used to have the tragedy of her fate to balance it out. She still has that, but her actions since then have been so brutal that sympathy for what's been done
to
her has been supplanted by what she's been
doing
to everyone else.

Unfair perhaps, but the current one seems so far to be a chaotic evil stupid arthas. as far away from what she has been. As she has been a more lawful to neutral evil sort of character. Cunning and such. Arrows in a quiver is part of that as she is a general.
The burning could be okay (if part of a plan with reasoning), but we saw a unhinged lunatic. that aint sylvanas.

Um...Blizzard, what are you doing? You are charging for physical copies with the collectors physical edition, but you put them up for free on the site? Truly, you are a company.
Elegy
for the Alliance and
A Good War
for the Horde....really? So the Horde is suppose to be proud of the actions of Lich Queen Sylvanas? #$%^ off.

A good war is rather good. It doesnt make sylvanas some goody two shoes, but a cold calculating person, ruthless and pragmatic and realistic, and shows a rather grey war.
However elegy is more black/white, sylvanas does genoside, anduin is the goodest there was. horde evil mad and insane, etc.
That's how it was for me atleast.

You know what really disappoints me about the burning of Teldrassil? It's just Theramore again; that's really all it is.

As much as I'm upset with sylvanas (and blizzard for making her that way), I have to admit, she was an absolute BOSS on the battle for lordaeron. Like, she's the one being besieged, and she was still in complete control of that entire battle. From start to end.
Matter of fact, had jaina not shown up with her deus ex machina (which is starting to make Rhonin and his silver liquid swords look tame by comparison) Sylvanas would have wiped out the leadership of the alliance on the very first round. Then she had them by the throat again on the second stage until Alleria and Gelbin showed up. Then she had them at her mercy AGAIN after they storm the throne room, and again, if it wasn't for Deus Ex Jaina, the entire leadership of the alliance would have been swept off the board (Making her the one warchief in the entire history of the horde to have come the closest to wiping out most/all of the alliance leadership)
And through it all, she managed to not only prevent the alliance from setting one foot inside the undercity, she also pre-evacuated every single civilian beforehand (Despite dozens and dozens of spies and saboteurs trying to prevent it), and managed to incur catastrophic casualties on the alliance, while denying them their victory.
I'd be impressed if I wasn't so disgusted with so many of her other actions. Which actually hearkens back to how I felt about Garrosh after the climax of the stonetalon questline.
Also, why is it that the alliance hasn't mass produced gas masks when fighting the forsaken? They're gas masks, its not like they're complicated to make or mass produce. And by now they should know that the forsaken will use blight on even the most minor skirmishes.(##RESPBREAK##)264##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Because that would be smart, and would make it seems like the Alliance thinks ahead....and we know Blizzard would never do that, since it makes there WMD Blight that less effective and can't be used to blight the Horde's own locations.

So....suspicious growth of Azurite right near the Master Glaive in Darkshore....you know, that place where servants of the Old Gods were buried. Calling it now, using Azurite is going to power up N'Zoth and will be how Sylvanas goes her version of Old God touched like Garrosh did.
Edit: Did the quest....and I seriously didn't care. The attempted pathos was meh to me, but oh well, got the purple hippo and the bat, yay me.

So apparently the goblin and gnome from Before the Storm survived the blast. I'm glad about that, but I wish they could be interacted with as horde too :( only alliance players can see them.
But more importantly Sylvanas as garrosh 2.0 is confirmed beyond shadow of doubt (as if there was any to begin with).
Stop me if any of this sounds familiar: Saurfang escapes the stockades on his own, sylvanas however, sends her dark rangers to kill him, as she sees him as a traitor to the horde. The horde players along with Rekhan, track down saurfang, but when the Dark Rangers catch up to us, we side with the old orc, and kill them. Saurfang asks us to go back to sylvanas and pretend to keep being on her side, as he goes underground to start a rebellion to topple the banshee queen.
So..........basically 5.1 all over again, just replacing Vol'jin with Saurfang, and Garrosh with Sylvanas. Gee, I can't wait for Saurfang to become warchief, and then die on the next expansion to another trash mob.

Rehash of a rehash of a rehash. Eh, oh well, what can you do when they run out of ideas in their endless desire to push out the WAR in Warcraft crap. This would have been the perfect expac for the Old Gods to push out in force, to see massive corruption across the planet as Old God hellspots opened up following the piercing of the planet. For Azshara to raise up a new continent from the Maelstorm, to still give us Kul Tiras and Zandalar...but as usual, we just get the same %^&* with a different coat of paint slapped on it. /sigh
Whatever Blizzard, at least the new Main Story Quests for FFXIV were enjoyable, and the final fight against Omega was epic as &*!@.
