Let me guess. This came from one of the books, right? The lore more; Titans coming back to the planet more then once(possibly), and the Shield thing has been around for a long time, that's why the Legion needs portals to reach Azeroth instead of just appearing on the planet.
I merely said the chosen thing to be semi-funny, obviously it fell flat. And if the Shield is meant to hold in the Old Ones well.....

First off, Why did Varian not go blind in his left eye when it got slice n' diced? It only cut deep enough to give him the 'bad-arse' scar.
Second, why is Kel'Thuzad alive in Old Hillsbrad, but the scourge have made a presence in Lordaeron? That's almost 20 years in the past, read
For full story.
Third, What happend to Sylvanas' stomach wound? It got better.
Finally, if Varian, Rhonin, and Magni are brought up in the WC3 RoC manuel, why did they do nothing in the game? I am kind of dissapointed at that...Varian was too busy dealing with the corrupt Nobles(aka Prestor planning her coup), Rhonin was off with Vereesa doing the whole re-uniting thing, Magni send his brothers north in his place as he was dealing with the Dark Iron resurgence.

Oh hey Delt, ignore my Shield comments, I can't find the information now... /sigh. Can't remember where I read it, and can't find the damn thing again..... I was sure it was off either the main website or something in wowwiki.

So something just crossed my mind... Can the Third War
really
be called the Third War?
I mean, before that time, the "Great Wars" had taken place solely between the Alliance and the Horde. While there are parts of each campaign that deals with that, the whole of the story is more about the war against the Scourge and the Burning Legion.
I'm thinking that instead of referring to it as "The Third War", that each faction might have their own name for it.
For instance, the Scourge might call it "The Rise of the Lich King" (self-explanatory), while the Horde might call it "The War for Freedom" (meaning they were searching for freedom from their pasts and for a home to call their own), and then the Alliance could call it "The Splintered War"(referring to the splintering of the Grand Alliance).
It just seems like the name "The Third War" just doesn't fit.

* 3.1 Prologue: Exodus of the Horde
* 3.2 Human Campaign: The Scourge of Lordaeron
* 3.3 Undead Campaign: Path of the Damned
* 3.4 Orcish Campaign: The Invasion of Kalimdor
* 3.5 Night Elf Campaign: Eternity's End
I'd say the mission campaigns themselves do that already heh.
Same with the campaign names for Frozen Throne heh
# 1 Sentinels Campaign: Terror of the Tides
# 2 Alliance Campaign: Curse of the Blood Elves
# 3 Scourge Campaign: Legacy of the Damned
# 4 Bonus Campaign: The Founding of Durotar

I think it's called the third war, because it was a major scale conflict, just as the first and second war were too.
as to why other major conflicts such as the war of the ancients or the war of the three hammers, or the troll wars are not included, the reason is simple.
the ones keeping track of it are the humans, and humans took no part on those wars of the past.
First war=first major conflict humans took part off, (their role on the troll wars was on a diferent land than theirs, the trolls weren't invading humans)
Second War=second major conflict that involved humans and their losses.
Third war=third major conflict that involved humans and their losses.(even if this time was not against the horde, still the scourge and legion took mostly human and elven lives more than anything else)
Fourth War=same-ol-same-ol.
now, why the other races refer to them by human anacrology is a mistery. (looking side-ways in a suspicious manner)
now, as on the next lore topic:
do you guys think it's posible on any expantion that we actually visit the Pantheon?
they must have a homeworld somewhere, maybe on a future expantion, after azeroth's heroes have finnaly found the means to move across worlds (cough-tempest-keep-fixed-cough) the legion finnaly prepares to assault the pantheon for good, and we need to establish our presence on their homeworld to protect the pantheon from legion atacks.
second posibility, that we take the war directly to the legion's world, and there, we fight and defeat the legion, but then the titans finnaly take notice of us, they see how despite the fact taht we did a major favor to the universe, we still deviated from their blue-prints, and they decide to purge azeroth, so now we need to take a stand against the titans.
what do you guys think?

I can get that, but the original idea still stands, that "The Third War" title just doesn't fit, since that type of title had always been Horde vs. Alliance before that.

Has it really been Alliance v Horde? Or Alliance v Burning Legion?
As, had it not been for the Legion, the wars never would have occured.

People, people! I have an announcement!
I have begun work on a
new story
!
I know, hold your applause please.
In this one I will try to delve deeper into Garrosh's character and make him seem more understandable. You'll probably still disagree with him, but perhaps you'll understand him more.

it's gonna take a lot to make me see garrosh as something more than a simple warmonger idiot. his actions on northrend nailed his coffin as far as respect goes for me.
same can be said for varian too, it's gonna take more than a gentle noble action in ICC to erase all the crap he's done, but at least his probable change has began.
as for garrosh, well........ I can change my mind about people like him, but like I said, it will take a lot for me to do so.

How thrilling.

I wasn't clapping.

Lol, thats what I like about you Skreeran, always finding something to like in a chacter you loathe greatly. Something many people can not do.
Despite already understanding
most
Warcraft Characters, including Garrosh, I look forward to this.
I lol'ed at the bolded part.

Well lets see:
You see Garona as a source of never ending evil, who is responsible for all darkness that has ever affected Stormwind.
You see Brann Bronzebeard as some kind of insane treasure hunting greedy miser.
You see Varian Wyrnn as the ultimate commander, who some how knows more about war even though he's only been alive for 30 odd years, which makes him more capable then the Night elves and Dwarves, who have been fighting wars for thousands of years.
You see no difference between the Old Horde and the New Horde.
You think anyone who's not gung-ho for war and death is a weakling and pathetic or a Horde sympathizer.....
So forgive me for lol'ing at something you put.
