So... I was gonna do a fan-fic detailing Locronos' backstory and want to see if anything is contridicting lore;
I was going to describe whelps as being born with 'dew horns' on their noses used to break out of the eggs.
The story was going to begin 900 years before Wrath, making Locronos a drake during the WoW timeframe, correct?
Within a couple years, the whelps will change to look like tiny drakes which then begin to grow.
In his early life, I was going to have the blues interacting with Nerubians and Frost Trolls around Northrened.

The biggest problem? Most of the Blues were gone till a few years after the Second War, when Day of the Dragon occurs; any hatchlings or young drakes would be kept at home and out of danger in the Winterspring nests. After DotD, when the Eggs Krasus saved are handed over to Maly from Noz, then you start to see them spread out as that was the 'first' time Maly came out of his madness and left his people go free.
From the Sundering to DotD, Maly is pretty much the last Blue in the world, and that is the main reason he is completely and totally ape @#$% insane.
Edit: Even after the Third War, only a few Blues, notably Kalec and Tyri, were out and about.

When does DoTD occur relative to Wrath?
And I had sort of thought about the whole "Not allowed out and about" factor as I would have the two main characters sneaking out and exploring northrened as they were younger.

Day of the Dragon occurred just after the Second War and just before the invasion of Draenor by Turalyon, iirc.

Yup.
And even then, until Tyri brings the information about the Netherwing Dragons to Maly, most of the Blues were still in hiding.

Okay, so the numbers are very small and locked in Winterspring. I was planning on opening up with a small clutch of eggs hatching and having the flight, excluding them, only consist of a few old drakes/young dragons and Malygos.

KYL Tin Foil Hat: The "death" of the Old Gods
That theory is...plausible. Holy &*!@...
How are we ever going to deal with the Old Gods then?
(As we can see with Yogg-Saron, imprisonment probably isn't going to be a viable solution)

Eh, Yogg was able to do as much as it did because of the Sundering, which moved it's prison and cracked it open enough for it to start effecting the world around it. Azeroth just needs to figure out something that keeps them from reaching out with their minds and it will be alright.

I dunno. Disasters could be inevitable.
Besides, I think you may be giving Azerothians too much credit. Wasn't the original prison made by the Titans?

Yeah, and their track record is so freaking stellar to boot. Oh wait.
Touche.
But then again the Night Elves had a hand in the Sundering...

Yes, but even in Warcraft, the chances of earth shattering ka-booms are......damn. Well, since we lobotomized C'thun and Yogg, the chance of either of them actually causing trouble in the next few thousand of years is low. Look how long it took C'thun to muster up it's forces before the first War of the Shifting Sands after all.

Y'know, I'd bet dollars to donuts that it'll end up being only Azerothians can effectively deal with the threat because we can lobotomize them without causing earth-shattering kabooms.
Yeah, but you don't kill something when you lobotomize it; you just make it really stupid. And how else would term it when we crawled inside C'thun to deal the final blow, and bashed in Yogg's massively mouthed head?

From the lore, lobotomy sounds like the only thing we can do to them, so... yeah.
Until the super special awesome amazing rule of cool thing appears to remove them from the planet, and make the Titans look like toys.....please Blizzard for the love of the Naaru, never let that happen.

The next Leader Short story is up
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/lore/leader-story/baine-bloodhoof/2#readmode
Its baine this time.
Gotta say, I like this quote from that story:
"Baine smiled sadly and placed his massive hand on Hamuul's shoulder. "Give him time, Hamuul. Those like Garrosh, their time is fleeting. He will see reason,
or hang himself in the end
. Those are the only futures awaiting him. Either way, patience is our greatest ally."
if only, my bovine friend, if only it was that easy to get rid of this imbecile........ =/
