Algalon really reminds me of Silver Surfer if you think about it.
We went over this in some off-topic thread relating Algalon to Galaxus. Totally agree though.

ejem, don't you mean
Galactus
?
but the main reason Algalon reminds me of Silver Surfer because there are many similarities between them.
A: both are heralds to a power much much greater than them. In the case of Silver Surfer, he's the herald of Galactus, a super powerfull cosmic entity that sought to devour worlds to sustain himself. In the case of Algalon he is the herald of the Titans, a pantheon of cosmic beings who have a tendency to desintegrate worlds that deviate from their blueprints too much.
B: Neither of them is the actual bad guy, they are just doing their job. Silver surfer isn't really enjoying the whole "lets condem all these worlds to death by marking them as rich in proteins for my overlord" he does his job because he must, not because he wants. Algalon is just a cosmic construct (and/or probably an AI embedded in the central computer of each world visited by the titans) that visits world from world whenever an alarm is triggered, to make sure everything is allright. He doesn't seem to enjoy marking worlds as "tained" and schedule them for re-origination, (proved when he said he felt nothing as millions of millions died in a single heart beat)
C: in both cases, this herald is REALLY powerfull, perhaps powerfull enough to beat every defender of the world combined. Both the surfer and Algalon have their powers because a higher entity granted them that power (Silver Surfer recieved a fragment of Galactus "Power Cosmic" and Algalon was empowered either by the titans themselves, or by machines built by the titans.) Also noteworthy is that neither of them are actually defeated by the world's defenders, but rather convinced that the world was worth saving (Silver Surfer is convinced by the Fantastic Four that there is nobility to be found in earth, and thus rebels against his master. Algalon is convinced by Azeroth's defenders that despite his calculations, Azeroth had lives worth saving. In both cases neither of them is killed, simply fought)
D: In both cases the heralds stoped working for their former masters, following their revelation/defeat at the hands of the world's defenders. Silver Surfer never again prepared the way for another world to be conquered by Galactus, and Algalon for the time being lied to the titans about the actual state of the world, and instead chose to observe azeroth, it's creatures, it's evolution, to further convince himself that he did took the right choise.
now I'm not saying that Algalon is a direct "Expy" of Silver Surfer, as just as they have many similarities they also have A LOT of diferences (Silver Surfer was a regular average joe known as Norrin before becoming a herald, and had a life before tooking that crappy job. Algalon on the other hand is an artificial being, made either of constellations, or a pure AI, wich means he never had a "life" before being a herald, he has allways been a herald, and many other diferences) but I can't help to compare the 2 of them, since the similarities are notorious enough.

Eh, Surfer became the Herald to save his world, but he lost everything. He's since tried to fight against Big G many times, and has saved him many times as well and has only recently returned to his original position....then the Universe went to hell.....
Algalon still looks more like a
Watcher
to me then anything else; not willing to take action till there was no other choice.

Anyone care to speculate on the fate of Lorna Crowley and her father's relationship? I'd wager a guess that Lorna,
who makes it clear that she was willing to die for the Liberation Front's cause
, will not easily forgive her father for surrendering their forces just because of her - or maybe not forgive herself for being captured so easily and being used as a barganing chip. (If I have to speculate further; she may infect herself with the worgen curse to make sure that it dosn't happen again, which will not sit well with Darius.)
And what do you think would have happened had he not surrendered to save her life and she was slain and ressurected? (My guess is that, despite what the night elves did for him and other worgen, he would end up falling into a feral state.)

Something I noticed, the horde is QQing over diminished resources right? Their river expanded into a huge river delta, which would be
amazing
for farming. Just why are they complaining?
You can't use farming to build catapults. Most of the complaints are about materials - ore, lumber and somesuch - that are used to make armor, weapons, and seige equipment. (of course, it dosn't help their point that Garrosh rebulit all of Orgrimmar with iron ore, although he had good reasons for doing so).And what do you think would have happened had he not surrendered to save her life and she was slain and ressurected? (My guess is that, despite what the night elves did for him and other worgen, he would end up falling into a feral state.)
Then the conflict on Silverpine would truly end up with a big battle between the Night Elves/7th Legion/Gilneas Liberation Front/Worgen packs of Silverpine against the Forsaken/Warchief's Fleet/Ambermill Mages. I'd wager with a big advantage on the Forsaken's side.
I meant what would happen to Crowley himself (sorry, wasn't speciific), but a battle of that magnitude would have been
truely epic
.
That is, of course, if the conflict wasn't already dead. Considering how Sylvanas words her little victory speech:
Crowley, your forces have fallen before my mighty army. You have lost!
So either Sylvanas was delusional or Crowley had something of a big ambush at ready, which I find unlikely. Meanwhile, the gilneans
were
beaten all the way through Silverpine by that moment.
They still had all of Gilneas, having had pushed the Forsaken's forces out of there. And the Forsaken themselves had take quiet the beating, especially from the Bloodfang pack. Had she not forced Crowley to surrender - which she may or may not have known (or guessed) would cause Ivar to abandon him - said pack could have easily continued to tear out chucks of the Forsaken's flanks as they attempted to take down the Greymane Wall's defenders.
And I wouldn't think it was above Crowly to plan an abmush like that inside the walls for when the Forsaken marched through again.

@Morec
I'm pretty sure the Forsaken had all but won in Gilneas.
The only thing that delayed the Worgen's getting their asses completely kicked in was the 7th Legion's arrival, and the Forsaken dealt with them too.

So went hunting for Argent's old Curse of Flesh thread, but couldn't find it. Anyways:
I started questing in Uldum lately, and thinking that the Curse of Flesh was introduced(possibly) by the Old Gods as a means of weakening the world the Titans crafted....what do they think about
the Dijinni
and Deathwing's plot to restore certain races that had been corrupted by their Curse? Seems like another bolt towards the 'Deathwing is working for the Old Gods still' theory.
