Lord of His Pack
I like Genn. Still kinda resent some of his other decisions (mainly the whole "exterminate the orcs thing"), but his heart's in the right place.
And he is kinda badass.
Papa Wolf, anyone?

So Mia and Tess are both still alive, good to see that being addressed. ;)

Papa Wolf, anyone? He really reminds me of my dad. My dad has the exact same mentality, only applied to the family rather than the country. But for Genn, the whole country is his family.
Thing is, this is a very complex (and good!) story, and I have a lot of feelings about it.
On the other hand, Genn was indeed stubborn, and losing his son and his kingdom makes for great characters development, as well as poetic 'justice' (relatively speaking) for his ignoring the Alliance. He ignored Lordaeron's pleas for help, and Liam had suggested that they help, and Genn had lost his temper about it. Now the plague (or at least it's effects) has indeed become Gilneas' problem, and he can't handle it alone, and his son is lost because of it. That's poetic, and it makes him question himself, and makes for excellent character development.
So I can see both sides of the story. I can see the perspective of the displaced Worgen who lost their home, and probably part of their family to the Forsaken, and who will show no mercy to the Horde whenever they fight.
On the other hand, I can see the perspective of the hopeless Forsaken who lost
his family
when he sent them down to Gilneas and they were turned away, or who died waiting for word from Gilneas' aid, or who simply hated the way Gilneas selfishly got to live behind their wall while everyone they knew died. I can totally empathize with their wanting to hurt Gilneas and punish them for their cruel indifference.
Both sides are compelling, and that is the sign of a good story.

yep, just because they haven't showed up again anywhere, doesn't mean they have died.
I mean I had assumed that Vandar Stormpike was dead, basing that on the fact that he hadn't been seen out of AV in years, while Drek'thar was seen in Garadar on the (now removed) Hero of the Mag'har quest. And I was proven wrong, :P
also, I never liked genn, mostly because he was a pompous ass. But I respected the fact that ass or not, he was a really good ruler, and a fair king to his people. His personality has taken a drastic 180º from the books, wich has made him into a character easier to respect, but I'm somewhat bitter that they retconned a rather hateable alliance character into a cool one, and also retconed a cool horde one into a hateable one (Sylvannas) all in 1 expantion.
its not fair U_U

We've gotten the butt end in racial leaders.
You guys had Thrall for like, four years. C'mon. All we had was a bunch of guys that didn't do anything and then later Varian.
and cairne too.
but come'on, I can see the justification behind changing genn's personality so drastically from the books (just look at him on Day of the dragon, you almost wanted to help daelin punch a couple of his theeth out) since the alliance really does need more cooler leaders.
But why did they had to change Sylvannas from what she was back in War3 ( a cool Dark Hero ) into what she is today? (A manipulative bitch who would gladly stick an arrow on her closest allies if it helped her advance her plans)
Back in War3, she was someone I could respect, then for no aparent reason at all they cooked up that goddamn blight and while after the outcome of the Wrathgate would had been the ultimate perfect time to see that blight gone forever, instead on cata it's still used in great amounts in most of the northrern part of EK. There was once a time where I could actually root for her, and said I respected her. Those days are long gone now =(
and of course, killing cairne, and replacing thrall with a guy that has about the same intelligence as my pet turtle didn't helped at all. Nor having the blood elves be led by an invisible guy, Liandrin would had made a MUCH better blood elf queen (and wow needs more female leaders)

I can go for more female leaders, well, female leaders who actually do something and are respectable.
I'm looking at you, Tyrande.
she has long since been reduced to cheerleader :P
it's known as the "Knaak Effect" Guaranteed to make even the most badass woman a helpless Damsel in Distress.
and yes, I hate it too.

Resurrect the
Trade Princess Movement
I say!
Really, though, I think there's a reason Gallywix isn't in the game beyond the Goblin starting zones, it may be preperation for when he wil - foolishly - betray the Horde and his people
again
and finally get what's coming to him. Then a more popular character will be able to fill his shoes.
And Sylvanas, although she is a bit darker (which I, personally, like), can at least stand on her own and really isn't a supporting character for anyone else anymore.

I like the new Genn, and you know why?
The way he was, he was a flat jerkass who's only role was to be a jerkass. Horde or Alliance, it didn't matter. Now he's a three dimensional character, with qualities and flaws, and from his (and Gilneas' as well) change, we have gotten a cornucopia of quality story and story potential.
Taking that into consideration, you might say the Alliance got the better deal, as the Bilgewater Goblins are 100 percent identical to traditional goblins. On the other hand, I've wanted traditional Goblins in the Horde ever since they left after Warcraft 2... :P

A manipulative @#$%^ who would gladly stick an arrow on her closest allies if it helped her advance her plansThat
was
Sylvanas in WC3. What they did in Cata was take away most of the reasoning for feeling pity or sorrow for her, and just made her a manipulative *!@#$. Not a manipulative @#$%^ with a justifiable agenda, which she had when the scourge were still a major threat.

meh, Varian isn't epic enough to fight side by side with Raynor. Besides that drawing portrays the horde as just as evil as the zerg and I Don't like that.
If it was Muradin and Raynor back to back against the Legion and the Zerg that would be something, OR better yet Saurfang and Raynor back to back against the legion and the zerg.

Epic. And I agree, comparing the zerg to the Horde (unless you count their wussification that will be coming in HoTS) isn't very good.

Despite the bad portrayal of the WoW side...
If that isn't an epic picture, I don't know what is.
We need a Sylvanas and Kerrigan version now. :O (I don't play SC, but I'll pretend to know what I'm going on about.)
