Shadowfang Keep.

I read the article linked to that shadowfang keep one, about Worgen death knights. Doesn't mention how Worgen death knights are even possible unfortunately.

In Acherus, the worgen NPC you kill states that you were both turned by Arugal, escaped, and joined the Argent Dawn, before being taken by the scourge. It was provided in the thread about it. Let me just grab the quote...
Edit:
Here we go.
Come to finish the job, have you?
You'll look me in the eyes when...
<Name>?
<Name>, I'd recognize that face anywhere... What... What have they done to you, <name>?
You don't remember me? We were both servants of Arugal back in Silverpine Forest. We put up with his merciless torture for ages. It was you who saved me on that fateful night when we escaped Shadowfang Keep.
Without you I would have died. YOU! The most noble worgen I ever knew.
What have they done to you, <name>? How could this have happened?
Remember the worgen you once were, <brother/sister>! You were our savior! Fight this!
Listen to me, <name>. You must fight against the Lich King's control. He is a monster that wants to see this world - our world - in ruin. Don't let him use you to accomplish his goals. You were once a hero and you can be again. Fight, damn you! Fight his control!

It doesn't explain how he's a death knight when he's a worgen tho.

He was killed and brought back to life by the Lich King.

many MANY people seem confused and actually thing worgens are inmune to undeath. This is not true. NOT A SINGLE RACE IN THE WORLD (exept demons) are inmune to undeath.
The only reason worgens are inmune to the val'kyr ress, is because of an inherent limitation in the val'kyrs powers, they can only ress vrykuls, and descendants of them (such as humans) and worgens are basically a hybrid race, half human, half wolf.
as such, because they are no longer fully human, they are inmune to the val'kyr powers, but they are still as vulnerable to undeath as any other race.
these same people who think worgens are inmune to undeath also conviniently overlook that in silverpine the 7th legion sent dwarven, gnomish, and elven assassins to pyrewood village, because they too (by not being human) are inmune to the val'kyr power. Does this means Night elves, dwarves, and gnomes are also inmune to undeath? not at all, as you meet several undead members of these races across azeroth.
I honest-to-god can't believe I've had to give this explanation in 4 diferent threads.
let it sink people
WORGENS
ARE
NOT
INMUNE
TO
UNDEATH!.
(maybe I should copy&paste this in every thread to see if I can finnaly kill this missconceptioned rumor. jeez this is as stubborn to die as the"lol Thrall is gonna be the new guardian" or "lol garrosh expelled every non-orc from orgrimmar" rumors that took A LOT of time to die)

I don't think it's an issue.

The only trouble is that we've got evidence of val'kyr being able to res non-vykrul descendants. In ICC, before Valithria,
Sister Svalna
is
capable of ressing an
elf
and
dwarf
, depending on RNG in the raid, but still.

maybe I should expand it then.
there are 2 types of necromancy.
Standard necromancy, wich rezzes the subject as a mindless undead, no more independant than a zombie or a skeleton, and Valk necromancy that rezzes the subject as a fully free individual with full independance and free mind, such as the Vargul and Forsaken.
on ICC, the blood elf and dwarf were rezed as mindless undead (evidenced by how they attack the raid whom they previously were their friends), but name me a valk rezz where the subject is rezzed as a free individual capable of independant tought, yet the subject is neither human nor vrykul.
My best estimation is that sister Svalna is a rather powerful valk (she IS a mini-raid boss) and learned both types of necromancy, the traditonal valk one, and the average scourge one.
Edit: either my above explanation is the correct one (we really NEVER see a valk rezzing nonhumans or nonvrykuls anywhere else) or Svalna rezzing a dwarf and an elf was an oversight of blizzard.
we know they are prone to those *cough*falstad*cough*

I would have preferred for Falstad to have been dead. Kurdran ftw.

I always thought that the necromancy for free will and independence only worked on the Forsaken because the val'kyr themselves were no longer bound to the Lich King. If I recall correctly, vargul did
not
have free will. My main point is that Blizzard are sending out mixed messages about the nature of necromancy, particularly pertaining to val'kyr's resurrecting capabilities.

So a freshly raised Forsaken (note: not even players, NPCs as well) are as powerful as Scourge raid bosses? :S

Exactly, which is basically what I said. The reason Forsaken have free will is because the val'kyr are not bound to the Lich King anymore, who was controling the val'kyr; and by extension the creations of the val'kyr.
