Plus you know... a lot of the changes to the world would take more then a few months to happen heh; the rebuildings and the like.
That would imply that the refortification of cities was only considered due to the arrival of elementals everywhere and whatever else pre-Cata events are going on. However, I think that the improving security in cities has been ongoing through the timeline of WoW, and especially accelerated after the Wrathgate, resulting in more resilient structures by the time Cata is in full swing.

Aye, but Orgrimmar change was due to the fire we see in the Shattering, causing a lot of damage, and Thrall set up the payment...but Garrosh choose the structure for it. Still, the destruction does give them a chance to rebuild(I love the new Stormwind).

Another turning point. :P All Cataclysm really is, in terms of the rebuilt cities, is a reflection of the last 5 years for the home front. At least, that makes more sense than appearing because they thought "lol deathwing raepd us". I'm sure the pre-WotLK invasion events were a wake up call to the leaders of the Horde and Alliance as well, but that's just me. :)

Well, I think it's implied that during Vanilla WoW he was in the Argent Dawn, and that it was him and his group that infiltrated Naxxramas and reclaimed the Ashbringer.

The Third War Part 2
.
Kind of a pathetic question, but can somebody tell me the story of Darion Mograine? His article on wowwiki is somewhat confusing to my eyes. Some main things I want to know is his age during vanilla wow, what he was doing during that time, and what organization he was in. Anything is much appreciated.
Well, I think it's implied that during Vanilla WoW he was in the Argent Dawn, and that it was him and his group that infiltrated Naxxramas and reclaimed the Ashbringer.
The Ashbringer comic explains quite a bit of it....and removes the idea that he was ever in Outland, as the rumours and urban legends of Warcraft said. As for the quick run down: Several years younger then Renault, was one of the first to join the Dawn when it formed, saved his Father's soul by taking the curse unto himself, and was freed at the same time as every other G3 Death Knight.
Someone asked me this the other day and I'd like to solve their doubts. Quick question about the War of the Ancients:
Did Dath'remar's group plan to betray Azshara from the start?
One more came to me after seeing the Highborne from Lake Men'ar (Cataclysm), were the Highborne from anyone else mentioned at all?
They turned on Azshara when they realized just how insane she was; probably the sight of several dozen Felguards leaping in the way of Assassins to keep her alive cinched it for them. As for the other...far as I know, not really; beyond being spirits and ghosts...which raises the question of how did all of them end up as ghosts heh?

A question about Darkspear trolls - do the facial markings bear any actual resemblance to an individual's lifestyle? Or can any troll wear any facial markings he wants and that won't look strange?

Hmm... just from WoW I'd say that facial marking are like jewelry. You wear them to look good (seeing as how any troll can wear any facial markings, NPC or Player).

Erm, I remember Alexandros grumbling on the lines of "barely of age to hold a sword." in the vision. So, I don't think he was anywhere before the Dawn.

So regarding Darion I can assume he was in the Crusade as a young lad with his father before joining the Dawn, right?
No, he wasn't part of the Scarlet's....least, far as I remember...I'd really suggest picking up the Ashbringer collection, explains it better there. Darion found the founding members of the Dawn when he came to investigate his father's disappearance, and only learned later what really happened; with his own brother killing him(due to Dreadlord manipulation but still).

Actually, Darion was present in an Scarlet skirmish at Stratholme. The same battle where Balnazzar killed and possessed Dathrohan's body. Because of Darion's young age, Alexandros was overprotective on him and because Renault didn't take care of Darion he was injured and, after the battle, Alexandros was mad with Renault. This lead up to the betrayal and death of Alexandros.

Reanult Killed Alexandros, Darion gave his soul to the Corrupted Ashbringer in order to free his father's soul.

Aye, Renault was responsible for the death of Alexandros.

I find it interesting. I also thought that Balnazzar wanted the death of Alexandros in order to deprive the Crusade from a powerful weapon and this weapon fell in the hand of the Scourge (also Balnazzar's enemies) and the Dreadlords have been planning the death of the Lich King since he betrayed them. Flash-forwarding to the end of Wrath, the Lich King was killed by Tirion with the Ashbringer.
As I said, I saw the death of the Ashbringer as an isolated plan not related to the Lich King downfall. But now, it seems to me that it was a just cogwheel in the mechanism that was the Dreadlords plan of dealing with Ner'zhul.
