But how does the Scarlet Crusade going after the Forsaken have anything to do with Garithos? They weren't trying to avenge him, I doubt they even knew about his deal with the Forsaken and how it turned out.

It's the "who started it" argument.
Which is admittedly a somewhat silly argument and only bears so much relevance, but still, I see the "humans started it" argument get dragged out so much, and it just isn't correct. Even though -- as has been correctly pointed out -- both sides have done much wrong to each other that they did not deserve, it still bears recognizing that the Forsaken did technically start the conflict.
Personally I make that point
not
to say that makes the whole thing the Forsakens' fault, or that they're the only ones to blame: I only emphasize it to point out that the whole thing is not, in fact, all the humans' fault (as some people I've encountered here and there seem to think).
Regarding the SC: this is just speculation on my part, but remember that the Scarlets are the remainder of the forces of Lordaeron, and Garithos was leading a segment of those forces when he was still alive. So, while we obviously can't know for certain, there actually is a plausible chance that the Scarlets did know about it.

Of course it's not purely the Humans' fault. The Forsaken
are
experimenting on humans, be they civilians or Crusaders. Likewise, there are Forsaken in the Scarlet Monastery that are being tortured to death.
Both sides are doing horrible things to the other, but just as you, Arkham, don't like the "humans started it" argument dragged out, I don't like the "Forsaken are torturing innocent people just because they're evil" argument.
Between the two races, you could say the Forsaken started it, betraying Garithos. Between the Scarlet Crusade and Forsaken, you could say the Scarlet Crusade started it, because they weren't attacking for any reason related to Garithos, and they were the ones who attacked first.
But ultimately, it doesn't matter. Both sides want the other entirely wiped out. Both sides need to stop. Ironically, it seems to me the the Forsaken are the ones who are closer to this change than the Crusade.

Ironically, it seems to me the the Forsaken are the ones who are closer to this change than the Crusade.Yeah, but the Crusade/Onslaught is almost gone, any of the good ones are part of the Argent Crusade now, so it's just the die-hard hate monger's left, once there gone, that's it.... provided Mel'ganis doesn't get his hooves involved again.

And this is in the Varian thread as well, but what do you all think of this?
Garithos - Held the dark knight class in The Frozen Throne. Strangely he has a generic mix of abilities from the Paladin, Tauren Chieftain, and Mountain King hero units. The use of a paladin spell perhaps suggests the traditional D&D background for a dark knight of being a fallen paladin. Fallen Paladin? Never even considered that for him.

Mind you, I'm also the person who cried while playine FFVI (or FF III for the old timers) when the guy's kid and wife died.It was always 6, it was just called 3 because Nintendo of America were lazy. But still, the FF series is always good for the heart string tugging.
