Well, the Maelstrom, the only remnant of the Well of Eternity, and essentially the source of all magic on Azeroth.

There is no Old God sealed away there, as the Storm is where the Well used to be, and I doubt the Titans would be stupid enough to seal one of the Old Ones away under all that pure magic.

Perhaps we will see something interesting there though. I mean, I don't want a maelstrom expansion only to show that it is all murloc/naga. I really want to see some kind of Dark Magic influence there, if not old god, possibly Sargeras' taint is still there or something. (any info on if his taint IS still there?)

Probably not. More then likely the Old God who made the pact with the Naga was one of the two within the Eastern Kingdoms; probably the Northern one as it would be 'closer' to the maelstorm. We might end up seeing the Murloc God thing Blizzard has been hinting at for a long while though.

Several indicators from the murlocs themselves point to the possibility that the fish-men are but worshippers or underlings of perhaps several deep-sea monstrosities that currently lie sleeping, or at least waiting, in the murky fathoms – and even more disturbing, that the murlocs' emergence is an indication of their incipient awakening.
If that is the case, the mysterious and somewhat underestimated murlocs may be the world's first glimpse at something far more terrifying.
Off of here.
Anyone else beside me wondering when we're going to see these monstrosities heh?

I hope they are actual monstrosities, and not just Hydras or something (wow I sound like a broken record, but there you go).

I'm hoping for the attack of the 50 foot murloc god heh.

Forget Deathwing. I think you may have given us a glimpse of the real threat to Azeroth.

If the Murlocs are rumored to be as ancient as the Trolls then as Tauman said there could be an old god at the bottom of the Maelstrom and somehow the Murlocs are connected to it.

I don't think there's an Old One in the Maelstorm, just because that meant one of the Five was under the Well... which is a really stupid place to seal away a monstrous creature that uses magic to warp beings into other forms... besides, if one was in the Well, why didn't it just use the powers to break free?

It could be biding it's time. Did they ever reveal which Old God corrupted Queen bewbs and her Highborne and turned them into Naga?

No, not yet. I'm guessing either Yogg, or the Northern one in Eastern Kingdoms.

Well if Yogg had done it then I think it might have shown up in Ulduar vision sequence. Or maybe not.
Besides, Yogg being responsible for Deathwing and Queen Bewbs? A bit much I think.
Now, if C'thun was successfully ressurected I could see Blizz putting responsibility on them.

Can't be C'thun; at the time of the War of the Ancients, he was buried under the sands of Silithus recovering from his battle against the Titan All-Father who slapped his giant tentacled arse out of the sky... and you know, building up the Quarj.

Ah, true, then most likely whoever is in Northern Eastern Kingdoms or even one that has yet to be mentioned.

Well, going by the 'star' theory, the ones that are left are the Trisfal Glades/Zul'Aman/Grim Batol one, and the one near Kara/ZG.

Aren't there 5 gods in total? If this "star" theory is true then there must be an old god near the Northwest part of Azeroth as well.
Also, the one you mentioned that is near ZG/Kara, is that the one is that is supposedly dead at Master's Glaive?
Post by
Adamsm
No, the Glaive body is the Northwest 'star point', and possibly the Old One causing the Nightmare.
