I'd recomend leveling as shadow until 58. You can still heal anything and it will give you experience in both the arts of dps and healing as a priest. Once you hit the Outlands, hopefully you will know what you want to do as 80 and can pick that spec (shadow is still easier to solo, but holy will get you into instances 10x faster).
If you plan doing pvp, shadow is still your dps, but your much better off as a discipline healer and can choose when you want to get used to the discipline arts.
(I know you probably won't even read this, but anyone else wanting to know might be able to bennifite from this post)
