I just finished leveling a hunter alt to 80...honestly BM is great DPS and even better for level grinding. I'd stick with BM for as long as you can tolerate its easy mode and if survival interests you more, respec that at 80.
If you're BM, you'll find that AP should be your primary stat as it bleeds over into your pet as well.
I always do the money making professions on my alts. I've grown fond of the Enchanting (just for the DE on alts) and Herbalism cash cows.
