I miss CC too. Like back in MgT. H MgT took serious CC when people first started running it. However, I don't see it coming back with blizzard's "bring the player not the class" ideal. That is, unless they give EVERY class a CC move. (For instance, warriors always had a hard time getting a group for H MgT unless they were tanks).

Want CC? Go do faction champions in TotC

You shouldn't have to start doing CC at the third boss of the hardest raid encounter currently in the game.
Still, good point I guess.

CC is for PvP! :O

I agree with Wildhorn.
What about the classes without CC? If you put in instances that are made easier with CC, we'll see TBC Heroics all over again.
That is; No Warrior DPS, No DPS (good) DKs, and to some extent Shamans, Warlocks, and any other class with a weak, poor, or no CC at all.
For humanoids that is. Warlocks are fine against elementals and such with Banish.\
Either way; I think it's more fun the way it is currently.

Speaking from my tanking perspective, something a little different needs to be done. Some of the super-pulls in Naxx and the like are absolute hell to hold aggro on, even in 25-man with multiple tanks. The trigger-happy DPS style Wrath encourages doesn't help, and is exacerbated by PUGs who can't figure out the right order to kill raid marks and then pull mobs my AOE abilities didn't hold enough threat on. I'd like to see some light CC come back, if only for one or two targets.

I would love to see some sort of CC come back out of the underground, since WOTLK Everyone got a CC and it was no longer needed! I've done hundreds of raids over the last couple months and havn't seen CC used at all really besides a couple times. I remember Pre-BC Where every pull u had to use atleast 1 or 2 CCs to stay alive, i would like to see it to where you atleast have to use CC once or two times during a raid/instance could its pretty much Dot it, Nuk3 it and wrather rinse and repeat and then nuke the bosss and its over, compaired to the old days when u had to CC star. sap circle and kill Skull/ X Then kill Sheep(star) then Sap(Circle)! You had some sort of base plane compaired to just dot it , nuke it and move on, no strategy or plane until u get to the boss and have ur regular strategic plane to beat him like every other raid/instance!
i Would love to see CC Come back from out of the underground and make its way into Cataclysm!

I would not like to see CC come back because I DO NOT LIKE WIPING. You guys must have not done Faction Champions yet.

Perhaps they could add in some optional encounters that require CC in order to complete? For example, they could add certain hard modes that would require extensive CC to complete, or add in optional bosses?
I personally like CC, and wouldn't mind going back to the days of Zul'Aman, where you
had
to CC some of the mobs. But it doesn't seem to fit in with the current design scheme, where encounters try not to "require" a particular class.
After all, there's only a handful of classes/specs with crowd control:
Druid: Cyclone, Entangling Roots, Hibernate (beasts only)
Hunter: Freezing Trap, Wyvern Sting, Scare Beast (beasts only, fear)
Mage: Polymorph
Paladin: Repentance (Retribution only), Turn Evil (fear)
Priest: Mind Control, Shackle Undead (undead only), Psychic Scream (fear)
Rogue: Sap
Shaman: Hex
Warlock: Banish (elementals/demons only), Enslave Demon (demon only), Seduction (requires pet), Fear (fear)
So CC is somewhat limited; many of the above are situational, and some (like fear) aren't true crowd control (although if they'd take the suggestion I've seen many times and make feared targets
cower
instead of running about like they've been set on fire, it would be more viable).
