That's not an exaggeration, shinies are retardedly hard to find in game, especially legendary shinies. The only ones I have ever found in game were a shiny aron (that I traded for a shiny eevee then regretted -_-) and a shiny zubat which I have NO clue where it went.
I started to trade my pokemon and scour the net for people willing to trade shinies, or on the little automatic trader thing, hunting for people who put shinies up for easy trades. Plus a lot of my friends play and a couple have found shinies and I've bribed them.
Oh, and I just found out I have 226 hours played on diamond. -_-
Shinies I have: milotic, rayquaza, typlosion, mew, mightyena, articuno, eevee x3 (one cloned), jolteon (evolved from cloned eevee, plan to get all evos this way), azelf, feraligator & clamperal.
The only one I know of that is hacked is the articuno :P
