The frost armor he crafted blocked Aldos's/Ga'Crane's fire, and he had to steal part of Ga'Crane's soul to heal himself so he could retreat.

I've said before, the Light is about the only thing that will actually kill or cause Kali pain at this point...but she's also dead and relies massively on Necromancy so....

I don't recall this.
To be honest, I'm just going to say he either took it or it was blocked by the armor.
Again though, he needed to consume part of Ga'Crane's soul so he could escape and heal.

"Unholy" doesn't seem to have much baring in WoW terms. I can't recall anything that would suggest the light would do extra damage to them.
Kali is undead, so that is justified.
