Dead Space lore still confuses me. I've only just gotten to the part where I use thermite to asplode the barricade.
Also, yeah, when I'm sober, it's really more fun and suspenseful than scary. In the words of Yahtzee "combat's mostly things jumping out and going "Boo!", and you congratulating them on their prank by sawing all their arms and legs off."
It's after I have a little to drink that it starts freaking me out. Maybe it's my impaired reflexes, maybe it's less predictable, I don't know, but even the most basic Slashers and Leapers startled the pants off of me.

Ew, DS1 Ripper not only did crappy damage, but when it is in you inventory, ammo for it spills from your backpack.
Never really found the ripper worth carrying, no matter how cool it was.

I'm not exactly excited to buy all of them and experiment for myself. I'm saving my money for better armor and emergency health packs.

Personnally, I fell in love with a simplistic combo of Pulse Rifle and Plasma Cutter.
If you feel like sinking every power node into it, the Force gun can be a beast, but early on, it kinda sucks.
Be sure to upgrade your Suit and Stasis at least 1/4 each before the last few chapters. You're gonna want that extra health for a few bosses and "gauntlet" events, and the extra stasis is simply amazing against the Hunter.

Yeah, was just reading about the Hunter. It's cheating, I know, but screw it, I don't want to soil my drawers and forget about escaping.
You play on Xbox, then?

Yeah, GT is Atik L Yar.
And I'm again at a loss for Phillip to do something... it is amazing Flamehowl has yet to wonder about the condition of his basement...

Heh... Yeah, that'll be funny when he decided to check on them.
And I myself play on Windows.
Oh, and also, we gotta figure out with Kahryez what we're gonna do with Themra. If he intends to sell her, then you might get to make your dark character, but he may have plans to keep her, in which case making a new character would be pointless.

Skree, how did you enjoy the Human Centipede? :P

I actually tried thinking up that "Dark" character.
I must really suck at making villians, as the closest I can get to dark is mildly depressed and is too "human" and relatable.
Don't get me wrong, in my series I'm working on (nothing WoW-related) I have a few psycho "destroy the world for the lulz" characters, but even they don't seem truely evil, or are redesigns of friend's characters.
My current idea involves that whole "Black Dragons are trapped in human form" idea.
Also, on Phillips goal of returning the Forsaken to life, if the Cult of Shadow got wind of it, what would be their thoughts? Just thinking of future ideas.

Skree, how did you enjoy the Human Centipede? :PI really enjoyed it. I think I was smiling the whole time except for the first and last 15 minutes or so. Haven't enjoyed a horror movie so much since The Last House on the Left.
I think I'm gonna watch
The Thing
next.
My current idea involves that whole "Black Dragons are trapped in human form" idea.Mmm, I don't know if I'd try that. It's extraordinarily hard to pull off well, and is generally taboo in RP.
I think the key in making a good villain is to start with sympathetic origins and relatable emotions, and add a heavy dose of anger and cruelty that grow from those emotions. Eventually, the hatred inside of them overshadows their sympathetic qualities and they can become a complete monster.
This seems to be true for many great villains. Anakin Skywalker was sympathetic for a while, but Darth Vader was so consumed by anger and hatred that he was no longer relatable.
That's the model I used for Dag'rema. I didn't want to just make her insane like the Joker (at least, most versions of the Joker), but I wanted to have her motivation be a corrosive, violent hatred of everything. To quote the Dark Knight "Some people just want to watch the world burn."
Of course, that's assuming you want to make a pure evil
complete monster
.
There are other types of dark character, of course, and it's perfectly acceptable to have a character who is more mean-spirited bully than omnicidal maniac.
Also, on Phillips goal of returning the Forsaken to life, if the Cult of Shadow got wind of it, what would be their thoughts? Just thinking of future ideas.I think they'd leave him alone. As long as he isn't forcing it on anyone: the motto of the New Forsaken is personal freedom.
