"What's going on?" he asked, wondering if this was going to turn into a fight.
Mary opened her eyes, getting up from her nap. She blinked, it was too bright. Suddenly, she screamed.

Taelani embraced Russell sadly. Something inside her screamed not to trust him. He was male. He was human. He'd left her before.
But more than anything she needed someone to make her feel safe, and that overpowered the other part of her.
