Snowmane picked up the glass and hesitated for a moment, looking at Phillip and Star-Pelt. They both looked so disappointed in her. She frowned and threw the shot back anyway. She needed it.

"No need to be so hasty," Nazevere whispered, walking around the human. "We're allies, aren't we? With so many out there trying to kill us, why are we wasting our energy on each other?" she asked soothingly.

Ja'Kala crumpled the letter in his fist.
"Tell mah brudda I'm goin' on a trip fa a few days," he told a nearby villager. "And 'opefully I'll 'ave good news," he added, going to his hut to retrieve his coin. He called two of his friends to him, making sure that they brought their raptors with them. Together, they loaded up ten thousand ten-gold platinum pieces onto five raptors and set off for Felwood.

Dag'rema cursed as she was dragged from the cell, ranting in Eredun and struggling against her bindings.

"It's a lon' and a sad story," Ga'Crane said vaguely, already regretting mentioning his quarrel with Adalis. In retrospect, speaking about it with Star-Pelt seemed to be a horrible idea, considering the main reason the priestess hated Ga'Crane's guts.
