But Ah stood dere as Ah was clawed and mauled, Ah stood dere as all da nerves in mah body screamed for mercy.
Ah am not sayin' Ah went through da same as da one whose life Ah ended - after everythin' ended Ah 'ad much time to realise what 'ad 'appened, and Ah wish all dat could be avoided.
Let it be known dat Ah did not enjoy causin' pain."
A lonely drop of sweat ran down the troll's face and dropped to the floor.

"Interesting," Rockwell murmured. "Your honor, I have no further questions," he nodded, walking back to his table.
Morgan got to his feet and approached the Witness's Stand for cross-examination.
"To the best of your memory, can you please tell us how the fight started? Please, be as detailed as possible."

"My friend and Ah were sittin' at our table peacefully - Ah purposefully chose da one most remote from da other ones so dat not to disturb anyone.
Regardless, several minutes after we settled, a company of three men came up to our table. Deir leader openly threatened to kill mah friend, and when she tried to reason with 'im, 'e back'anded 'er across da face."

Ga'Crane looked helplessly over at Nightbane, despising himself for the words that were about to come out of his mouth.
"Ah tried to calm da situation down - with no success, as da said attempt was a 'elpless yelp," he said darkly. "Before Ah could do anythin' else, another of mah friends, namely Nightbane Bloodhowl da worgen, attempted to tackle one of da three to da ground - 'avin' in mind, Ah'm sure, to keep both 'im out of trouble and us out of possible damage from 'im. Immediately after dat, da leader charged at me and... Do Ah 'ave to continue?"
During all these words, his voice steadily grew quieter.

"The Prosecution would like to call Gurka to the stand," Rockwell announced.

Avoiding to look at anyone else, the troll walked back to his place and slumped on the bench. He raised his head and force himself to look at Gurka, and even smiled weakly at her.

Gurka smiled back at Ga'Crane. It was his life that was in the most danger. She hoped she wouldn't mess up.
"Hmm..." Rockwell murmured as she took the stand. "What happened to you?" he asked, gesturing to his cheeks.
"Erm..." Gurka muttered quietly. "I was captured."
"By whom?" Rockwell inquired. "I can't imagine any decent person willing to inflict something like that onto another person."
"Ga'Crane had no choi--"
"Please, answer the question."
"A warlock," Gurka finally conceded.
"A warlock. A practitioner of the dark arts," Rockwell nodded. "Tell me, what did it feel like? To be tortured by a warlock?"
"Objection!" Morgan cried, standing. "Relevance."
"Overruled," the judge answered. "But please, Rockwell, don't waste our time."
"Of course not," Rockwell bowed. "Please, answer the question."
"It felt awful," Gurka murmured, looking down. "Terrible," she paused, suddenly looking up. "But you can't compare what Dag'rema did to me with what Ga'Crane did to that worgen. He acted in self-defence, not out of malice! And he helped save me from her clutches. He's a good person!"
Rockwell flattened his ears and growled inaudibly.
"Tell me," he began. "At the time the fight broke out, do you think it would be possible for the three worgen to lynch you right in the middle of the bar?"
"Well, they would've if they got th--"
"Please," Rockwell interrupted. "Yes, or no?"
"It would have been difficult, I suppose," Gurka sighed, looking down guiltily.
"And melting a man's face isn't really a fair punishment for a little slap, is it?"
"Objection! Leading the witness!" Morgan interrupted again.
"Sustained," Rothschild nodded.
"No further questions, your honor."

' Nagorm tried really hard - and succeeded, unfortunately, - at keeping a pokerface.
"Little slap?"
Just when Ga'Crane relaxed somewhat after seeing Flamehowl's gesture, he heard the Prosecutor questioning Gurka.

It's probably his job... He's probably thinking he's acting in the best interests of his country...
' he thought grimly, breathing slowly.

Morgan once again stood and approached the Stand.
"Tell me, Gurka," he began, giving her a reassuring smile. "Had the group that attacked you been drinking?"
"Yes, they seemed drunk," Gurka answered.
"No further questions, you honor," Morgan nodded, walking back with Gurka to the Defendent's table.
