Lak'tuk gasped for breath. "Stop that troll," she said in-between inhalations.
Salja had almost made it to the mouth of the cave. The Shades quickly regrouped and flew to surround Khaz, deep wounds opening up on the facelessling's flesh without any apparent sign as to how.

The Image, not bothered by silly things like wounds, moved through the Shades and appeared in front of Salja. "Stop, please, or I may have to get violent."

The troll stumbled back. "P-please, don't hurt me," she stammared, begging for her life as she attempted to crawl away from the human-thing. "Ah've done nothin' wrong, Ah wont tell anyone ya here. Please." The Shades surrounded Khaz once again, attemping to banish the image by cancelling it out with the dark magic that made up their being.

Khaz frowned and stepped through into Ashenvale himself, deleting his image with a wave of his hand. "Mistress?" he said, turning to face both of them.

The Shades quickly attacked the real Khaz as he appeared, grabbing ahold of his flesh and attempting to rip it off of his bones while the shadows blocked him from inhaling any air.
Lak'tuk walked up behind Salja and grabbed the back of her neck with a fel-flame ignited hand. "Banish those things," she growled, but Salja did nothing. The Shades, sensing their master was in danger, jumped to attack Lak'tuk instead of Khaz.

Yoric listened quietly as the other undead spoke, not sure what to think of the newcomer.
Skreel finally returned to his Inner Sanctum to check on Blightcaller. "My Lord, are you still here?" he asked.

"Right," Gurka agreed. "She might not look like much, but we've seen her handiwork firsthand. Nothing good can come of her running loose," she paused, listening to Shade's question. "Well... Dag'rema did most of the torture, but Lak'tuk... well, for one thing, after Dag'rema had stabbed me in the shoulder with a long metal needle, Lak'tuk took over and heated the needle up until it glowed. She started freezing my head, too, threatening to kill me if I didn't tell them what they wanted. I don't remember all of it."

"It's complicated," Ji'jiri answered. "It started with a massacre of my tribe several years ago that was led by an elf. Left a lot of bad blood. Still, everything was more or less peaceful until my brother died, apparently killed by elves..."

"I'd rather not go back to Annewood's house," Themra answered, not even wanting to consider what kind of degrading clothes Annewood--err, Sinna--had picked out for her. "We've wasted enough time there already. If you have money and feel safe visiting the Trade District, we could check there."

Lak'tuk nodded, removing her hand from around the troll's neck. Besides, she realized it would be better to leave the troll girl unharmed. These things were powerful, and there was the chance only she could control them. "Do you have a name?" she asked, calming herself down.
"S-Salja," the druidess stammered. She placed her hand on the burn mark on the back of her neck. The flames had not only burned but had sapped her strength, and the wound seemed to still be doing that. Was this the power of fel? Could even her Shades compare to it? She was unsure...

"I could if I wanted to," Talah replied. "But yes, I'd much prefer some real weapons." She wasn't joking, she could kill someone with a spoon if she wanted to. But the dagger, knives, and blowdarts she had before her death - who knows what happened to them - were much cleaner, quieter, and all around more efficient.

"For now, nothing," Lak'tuk nodded greatfully to Khaz. "And why were those hutners chasing you?" she asked the troll
"Da Shades," Salja quickly said. "Dey were mah brothers. He musta convinced dem to retrive it fah heem."
"He created them?"
"No, mah father did. But aftah he died mah brother got to dem before I could and took them ta try and find a way to destroy them." The Shades attempted to assault Lak'tuk again, but could not get past Gallo's barrier of arcane light.

"Tell them to stand down," Khaz snarled at her. "Mistress, I suggest we leave immediately. The dreadlords have taken Tanaris, stopped the Verdict from entering Kalimdor, and are moving into Uldum. As soon as the southern reaches have fallen, and trust me when I say they are moving quickly, they will press north." He stopped and exhaled slightly. "I suggest we move to the Eastern Kingdoms, or to Outland, if needed."

Salja did nothing to banish the Shades. "Joo can't touch me wit' dem here," she said, knowing full well - well, actually just hoping - if any one of them attempted to touch her they would break through the barrier conjured by the ethereal to defend her.
"Then we'll banish them," Lak'tuk said. She had seen the troll fumbling with a pouch, trying to open it, before the Shades were summoned, perhaps that had some link to them? She quickly snatched the satchel from Salja's grasp, the Shades indeed breaking through the barrier at this time. Before they could reach her, though, she closed the bag, sucking the Shades into it.
Salja's face wan. She was going to die. They were going to kill her and there was nothing she could do about it now.
"We're not leaving these lands untill we've retrived Koren's remains," Lak'tuk replied, placing the bag into her robes. "And we're taking this troll with us."
Salja felt a mix of relief and sheer terror.
