Gurka was looking around for a something significant she could look into the spirit of. The arrows might work, but most of them were broken, and they wouldn't really be the best witnesses. If she were a druid, she might ask the spirits of the trees, but unfortunately she wasn't yet that attuned to the spirits of nature yet.

Flamehowl pulled at the threads of magic ever so slowly, sliding them through one another in an attempt to unravel their destination. One thread in particular was a problem, but he managed to loop it around the others, pulling them all away and exposing the core magic of the portal, which included its destination.
Sliding a hand into the magic still hanging in the air, Flamehowl turned away and shuddered, suddenly nauseous.

Once his hand was out of the magic, he felt better. "As long as I don't touch that again, no," he said, shaking his head. "I did discover the destination though." He took a deep breath, then said, "Azjol-Nerub, dead kingdom of the spider lords."

"Ah think..."
He concentrated, and took several steps, each in seemingly random direction.
"Dere's another. 'ere, Ah'm almost sure - but Ah cannot figure out where it leads," he muttered.
