Shadow and holy priests have a completely different role. It is probably best to figure out if you'd like to heal or DPS at level 70. Both shadow and holy/disc priests are used in raiding, 5-man instances, and PvP. Shadow does, however, seem to be somewhat more common due to their raid utility.
