Control Freak: Control Warrior is Still Here
If my fascination with the Midrange Warlock deck last week was any indication, I do not prefer the popular aggressive decks that are seen so often in Hearthstone. I like adapting to my opponent and feeling like I have options. Don’t get me wrong, I cackle maniacally as much as the next person when I get a perfect opening. But I have always leaned towards control play. Shaman and Paladin were my first loves when it came to control decks. For whatever reason, maybe the crafting cost or what seemed like a boring Hero Power, Warrior was the class that took me the longest time to warm up to. But now, like an album I love or a good sandwich
shop, Control Warrior is a deck I keep coming back to.
Pro players Sjow and Kitkatz are probably the most well known for making Control Warrior popular and innovating upon it. Both players hit #1 Legend rank with pre-GvG Control Warrior decks. The thing that made the deck so good back then was that there really wasn’t a bad matchup for it, and that is still more or less true today. Really the worst thing that could happen to you as a Control Warrior player was to go up against another Control Warrior. Heaven forbid you needed to be somewhere by a certain time, the length of a mirror match up guarantees fashionably late arrival.

Guide to Tanks and Tanking
We're always trying to help players improve at their roles, or pick up a new one, and so, thanks to
Sunnier
, we have a basic guide to tanks and tanking. Of course, if you're a seasoned tank, much of this may not be news to you, although you may learn something about classes other than your own. For newer players, would-be tanks, and anyone wanting to learn more about tanking, read on.
World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Guide to Tanks and Tanking for Patch 6.0.3.
Tanking in Warlords of Draenor has remained largely unchanged as a role since the introduction of active mitigation in Mists of Pandaria. If you're new to tanking, your base role responsibilities are as follows:
Ensure that any enemy mobs that can be tanked are attacking you instead of your fragile allies.
Position enemies to best enable your allies and avoid unnecessary damage.
Use your mitigation abilities to ensure you're taking as little damage as possible.
This guide aims to give you the basics on how to tank, and a summary of the five tanking classes in Warlords of Draenor.

Victory or Death!
Control Warrior has been a staple on the ladder for several seasons now and continues to be strong. Face Warrior, on the other hand, has seen a dramatic decrease in play as it tends to run out of steam to any deck running taunts or a lot of removal although it is still a viable option in tournament play as it matches up well with Miracle Rogue. OTK Warrior was destroyed by Blizzard when and were nerfed which really only leaves Control Warrior although a new Tempo Warrior may be gaining popularity soon.
In this write up I’ll discuss one version of the Control Warrior that I have been running on the ladder and give some options for alternative cards that can be used instead. This deck has many variations and utilizes a bunch of early removal and late game legendaries but the flavor of Control Warrior can be tweaked to fit each player’s style. It is not a cheap deck by any means as it usually runs between 6- 8 legendaries. It is not a fast deck either and many games, especially the mirror match-up, can go to fatigue before a winner is decided. What this deck does do well is provide a consistent win rate at almost any rank on the ladder and absolutely smashes some popular decks like Freeze Mage or Aggro Hunter.
