Advanced Profiler Collecting
Wowhead's Profiler
is a great way to track what remaining mounts, pets, quests, achievements and more you still need to get. This information is powered by your character's info on Battle.net--however, over time, some things weren't getting properly tracked on Blizzard's end which led to inconsistencies on our Profiles.
As Pinning a character lets you see your collection info across the site (tooltips, Quick Facts, search results), affects achievement-based contest eligibility, and now personalizes charts in news posts, we wanted to find a solution for our dedicated users.
We've come up with an alternate solution so ultimate collectors can have all their mounts, achievements, and titles perfectly tracked. (You can still use the basic existing system to get most of your information, that's not going away.)
To set up this advanced system, you need to do two things: Verify your character and run the latest version of the Wowhead Client. This is the same system used to get your Toys, Heirlooms, Followers, and Ships to appear in the Profiler, so if you're seeing any of that info already, you're set!
To get set up, you will need to verify your character. This is a one-time process.
Log in to Wowhead
View your character
in the Profiler
Click on the Verify option on the header and follow the instructions. If you
log in via Battle.net
, this step will happen automatically.
Download and install the
Wowhead Client
From here, whenever you want to update your Profile, do the following:
Run the
Wowhead Client
Log in to your character in-game (with the Wowhead Looter addon running)
Exit WoW, and use the Wowhead Client to submit your data to Wowhead
Mounts, achievements, and titles will now be correctly tracked, which improves your general collecting information, places on Wowhead that display your info like Quick Facts and Charts if you Pinned your character, and contests running like
I Found Pepe
.
Personalized Chart Information
We added personalized charts yesterday, which were visible on our
Arena Bonus Events
guide. However, yesterday had some pretty big news including the
Patch 6.2.3 Preview
and
Overwatch Closed Beta Announcement
, so we're highlighting this new feature again in case it was overlooked. The collection improvements described above will also improve the accuracy of these charts.
Pinning a character via the Profiler will now modify charts to have green bars for anything you've collected--achievements, mounts, pets, etc. In addition, when you mouseover a bar on a chart, you'll see your Completion status in addition to the name. Below is an example using my character to see her progress on mounts from Apexis Crystals:
Pinning a character has other benefits--it shows if you've acquired an item on Quick Facts, search results, and tooltips.
To Pin a character, login to Wowhead and simply go to
http://www.wowhead.com/list
and enter in your character on the blue Battle.net section. Then select the "Pin" option with the purple thumbtack option among the list of options at the top of your Profile.
