as I read the ashbringer comics, I saw drarion sacrificing himself to save his father's soul, and aparently he suceeded, however at the end of the DK starting chain the lich king kinda "sucks" the ghost of papa mograine, saying "he's mine now".
so i was divided between either believing papa mograine was saved, or that his soul was reclaimed by the lich king.......
untill tonight.
I finally started raiding on my DK (i've been doing ICC extensively on my shammy up to this point)
and now that I'm friendly with the ashen verdict with my DK, I got the first quest of the shadowmourne (I'm realistic xD on my schedule I may take me up to 1-2 years to complete that quest, if ever at all) but one part of the quest struck me down as familiar.

he says "you shall both suffer as his father does........"
does this means that papa mograine has been captured once more by the lich king? darion's sacrifice was in vain?
or was the lich king just bluffing?
humm.........

Alexandros appears to chat with Darion after you kill the Lich King. Supposedly, he's been inside Frostmourne all this time or something.
So yeah, you could say the whole "stab self through heart" thing was in vain.

Wait... what? How does that work? KT transformed him into a DK not The Lich King....

Wow... What UI addon are you using Rank?

dang, that sucks man, so darion made the ultimate sacrifice, esentially destroying his place among the living, and becoming doomed to walk this land as a monster accepted by none, feared by all, just to save his father and in the end it was all for nothing?
jezz, that really royaly sucks dude.
BTW skree, u got any screenshots of that conversation of darion with his father? I haven't been able to find it, and it may be a LONG time before I get to kill the LK.
and funden, :P hehe u like the UI? personaly I love more my Diablo 3 look-alike UI, but my guild started to make this new addon-combo-pack mandatorial to raid.
it's not 1 addon, it's a recopilation of like 20 addons.
u can find and download them all here
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/packs/1957/default.aspx
and BTW, enjoy configurating it :P it took me 40 min to completely customize everything to how I liked it.

Ouch. I'll see if I can make it work, but if it takes too long I can stick with my normal Bars =P

At the end of the Ashbringer comic, it seemed to me that Alexandros was fred from his life in undeath.
I see the Corrupted Ashbringer as a "mini-frostmourne" it has the power to imprison a single soul where Frostmourne can imprison a lot. If you are to free that soul trapped you need to give your own to the sword. That was what Darion did.

and that is what I believed, but check my first post on this thread.
at the end of the DK starting chain, the lich king seems to "suck" alexandros's ghost into frostmourne, saying "he's mine now"
at first I thought he was bluffing.
and on the screenshot I posted, he says "you shall both suffer as he suffers"
meaning his soul is once more within frostmourne.
furthermore, skreeran said that after the LK is dead, alexandros and darion seem to have a conversation.
:P bro' read the previous posts before posting

Nothing official is confirmed... also that what happened at Light's Hope could have been an ilusion created by LK.
If he was, in some way, sucked into frostmourne it doesn't matter now that it has been destroyed.
PD: also, I was just saying what I think had happened in my previous post.

I've heard the sound files for it, Darion has a conversatin telling his father how he feared for "his sanity" after the Lich King's death.

Still, I don't see want he did was in vain. If it wasn't for him the Lich King might hadn't been defeated after all.

Except all the Death Knight Commanders had similar conversations at LHC: Thassarian saw his own father after all. More then likely it's just a taunt by the Lich King to try to make him drop his guard during the fight. You see at the end of both things; LHC and the comics that Alexandros is freed.
Because... again.... The Lich King didn't make him a Death Knight, that was KT.
