Description

A steady shot that causes base weapon damage + 20% Ranged Attack Power + 150. Causes additional 175 damage against Dazed Targets

An instant ability off the GCD that causes an additional 127 damage. Can be proc'd and ready to cast while still on cooldown.

Our new 41 point Beast Mastery Talent. Increases the player's damage by 10% and reduces the mana cost of all abilities by 20% for 18 seconds.

This talent increases damage by 3% for all party members and stacks multiplicatively with other Hunter's Ferocious Inspiration.

Aspect of the Viper is a new mana regeneration ability used when out of mana in raids or between fights in the open world.

Snake trap is a new trap useful in PvP.

Misdirection is a new ability that directs threat for the first three attacks towards your targeted raid member, greatly assisting in threat generation for tanks on pulls.

A talent that increases ranged attack speed by 20% and your pet's melee attack speed by 20%.

A talent that generates 50 pet Focus every time the Hunter lands a critical strike.

Race

Alliance

Zwerg is a great race in PvP, where Steingestalt is very valuable. They are quite good in PvE, but only if you are using a gun, benefitting from .

Nachtelf are the best race in PvE due to having the highest base Agility, which in turn results in slightly higher DPS. has some niche uses in PvP, but no use in group PvE.

Draenei are generally the second-best option for Hunters in PvE. Heldenhafte Präsenz provides hit rating for everyone in the party, including pets. However, this buff does not stack, so you only need one player in your group to be a Draenei.

Horde

Orc is considered the best Horde race for Hunters. increases your pets' damage, which is more significant in TBC, and Kochendes Blut is a strong DPS cooldown. In PvP, Zähigkeit is very useful for occasionally avoiding stuns.

Tauren bring little of note to dungeons and raids, with Durchhaltevermögen only being a very minor perk. Kriegsdonner is quite good in PvP, but there are better races.

Troll are the second-best race for Horde. is quite strong, but will only outperform the Orc racial when low on health. In real situations, this is unlikely to be achieved regularly. Additionally, Wildtierschlächter can sometimes provide a small bonus, but not many bosses are Beasts.

Blutelf have the highest base Agility, which is matched only by Trolls for the Horde side. Otherwise, they bring no racial abilities used in raids. Arkaner Strom is reasonably strong in PvP.

Leatherworking is the best profession to pick up early in the expansion, especially if you are going to be using the Leatherworking Drums for your group. Leatherworkers can craft and use powerful sets like Urgewalt, which will be BiS early on in TBC. In later phases, new recipes are added to try to keep Leatherworker-specific gear relevant, but other professions are generally better.

Engineering provides multiple benefits to Hunters. The Gnomenkampfhuhn provides Schlachtkräher, which will benefit our pets and melee weaving by providing 5% haste to melee attacks. Additionally, Super Pioniersprengladung and Goblinpioniersprengladung help in AoE situations, which is where Hunter is really lacking.

Blacksmithing will be a niche pick for the majority, but the reason this is one of our best options is due to Mondspaltbeil. With melee weaving being much more impactful and easier to perform in TBC, you will see a noticeable DPS increase if done correctly.

Enchanting is a great option from Phase 3, as you can enchant both your rings with the Enchanter-exclusive .

Is there really that much of a difference between Orc and Troll? Guide makes it seem like Orc is miles ahead in output for BM.

Is there a link, section or page which covers available weapons for hunter? See a lot of high level information, and it appears to be well explained for the initiated. So far I have 1H axe, bow, gun and stave. An initiate like me would appreciate comprehensive direction on how and where to find all available weapons. Thanks!

This does not make sense.

On the one hand you say, "Leatherworking is still considered the absolute BiS profession to pick up as you can still be the designated drums user for your group for the single use as well as creating your BiS Primalstrike gear set."

Then you say, "with the new recent changes to drums now giving players a 2 minute tinnitus debuff leatherworking is no longer suggested as one of your professions if you do not decide to craft one of the gearsets. The Primalstrike and Ebon Netherscale sets would be the only benefit to going leatherworking now and will provide no noticeable difference."
