Press Esc once for Game Menu, and select Macros.

Select New (bottom row, next to Exit).

Name the macro, and choose an icon, then press OK.

Enter macro text under Macro Commands (you can copy and paste from below).

Save, drag icon directly onto your toolbar and set a keybind.

Macro to have Aspect of the Hawk and Aspect of the Viper in one button for easy swap between these two aspects

The All in One Pet Macro frequently stops working for me. For example, when my pet dies, it will not cast Revive Pet.

I think adding /cleartarget will avoid consuming the food by accident whenever a corpse is target

I think this might be a better MD macro. If you focus your tank it works perfectly, if you dont have a focus it will MD to your pet.

Just for the fun of it, here's my favorite misdirection macro for TBC.

When you join a group, set the focus to your tank.
When you're alone, just set the focus to your pet.
When you need to misdirect, hit the macro.

There is a ton of iffy-ness in these macros...

Aspect of the Viper and Hawk should have macros with "/cast !Aspect ..." macros since there is no reason not to have an aspect on at all times. The ! before the spell name ensures it will stay on if you press it by accident.
Here's an insanely better Misdirect macro:

/cast Misdirection
The above MDs your pet while solo, MDs your focus for pulling when out of combat, allows you to deliberately MD a different raid member with the same button or will fallback to your focus, and will fail-over into a target-of-target MD cast in the event your focus dies and another tank is trying to establish threat. This covers 99.9% of use cases for MD automatically on 1 button.

I attached this before my Tonk macro (instantly dismisses pets in combat), but this will outright prevent you from randomly eating your pet's food by accident.

This macro, when double clicked will instantly dismiss your pet in combat and heal it to full HP. It is absurdly good, and the item Steam Tonk Controller does not require engineering to use, only to make.
One of the unique aspects of being a Hunter is that you and your pet can attack different things at the same time, which makes it more likely your pet will live in most cases. This gives you the ability to easily and instantly target what your pet is attacking if what you're attacking dies.

/cast !auto shot Adding this line to end of your offensive shots will simply target whatever your pet is attacking, and attack that without having to manually re-target yourself, or risk using a generalized /targetenemy macro, which can be super unsafe and prone to pulling enemies from other nearby packs. For example, this is my Steady Shot macro:

Swapping your pets target when yours gets to low HP will allow you to seamlessly transition between targets using this. It will also allow you to cast Kill Command only when your pet has a target, which is nice for fights when they can't be attacking at all times.
