The Druid...holy freaking crap.

Now, I'm not one to post random thoughts on stuff for no reason (usually), but I really need to get this out.

I've been playing since early vanilla...first a rogue, then a warlock, then a shaman, raided with all. Out of the blue this week I decided to roll a druid for the very first time. I've tried all other classes before, and somehow the druid up until now never really crossed my mind.

This class is simply amazing. I'm astonished that I never thought of rolling one before. For some reason, I feel a deep connection with this class and I am really considering making it my 'new main' so to speak...even though I have all my achievements on my lock.

Some simple (or maybe not?) questions...what is your favorite part of being a druid, and what was it that in your head said to you "Hell yes, this is now my main."?

I would say it is the "Swiss Army Knife" feel of the class for me. A little tank, a little dps, a little heal. Hell we are like a 5 party all rolled up in to one spell casting, power shifting, super healing machine. :)

Flight Form. Instantly flying was so amazing back when mounting took 3 seconds. After shifting to flight form to get from one quest mob to the next amazingly fast I know that the Druid would be my main.
I know Druids have many more perks (awesome NE cat form, versatility, most mobile healers, generally mobility) but Flight Form was the defining "wow" moment for me.
Although I'm now mainly playing my Shaman. I have friends in a horde guild who I want to play with but I just can't bring myself to faction change the Druid. Being a cow is simply not an option and the troll forms are too ugly.

I agree, but until they make Blood Elf druids I'm stuck with being a hunchbacked piece of meat.

I love my druid,he's currently 75 and first off and first most the troll druid forms are completely epic in my opinion, I love the fact that you're basically three rolls in one class...and flight form....love it

Started my druid in tbc and been playing on and off since then, and nothing can be better then that feeling when you got flight form for the first time :D

*wave* hi modifybob! Glad you could come over from the lock forums to come and chat up here :)

When I started with WoW, I had no prior MMO experience, and I didn't really check out class mechanics and abilities. All I had was the booklet that came with the original game, and Wowwiki. I liked the idea of a druid's shapeshifting (later on realizing that the "standard" spec only has 2 ...) and a warlock's minions. I chose the druid as my first toon because of the versatility I guess :)

The ability to gather herbs and pick up/activate quest items while in flight form is great. Swim form was very useful back in vanilla WoW too.

Are you talking about the food and junk collecting one? I did that on my SPriest. It was hell, just hell.

I love druids as well, but I sincerely hope they never, ever, ever give belfs the ability to become them. They really only fit races with a naturalist/primal air about them, and belfs have neither. At all.

Gnome druid. I know it's beaten to death joke/idea but seriously...
