Sound and Performance in WoW while WH in BG.

Whenever a intensive flash banner/advertisement shows on Wowhead and I am in World of Warcraft, I experience a very low FPS drop in the game. I sometimes have to reload the page and stop it from loading before the advertisements show, just to stop the lag. Some advertisements with sound will make the sound in-game to turn choppy, thus, shutting the game down, reloading the website/stopping before the ads show up, and the restarting the game. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. I even messaged Wowhead about this through an e-mail and someone had told me something was going to be in place to fix it or something but I don't see it.

I think you guys really need to set up a donation -> ad removal system. I'm totally never turning Adblock off but I'll give you money directly -- more than once, probably.

That was me who wrote that email. We're definitely excited about the donation -> ad removal idea, and are looking at a way of closing the ads while you're in game right now--I'll talk with Sko about it this afternoon. :)

Game lags insanely hard now.

Since then, the "temporarily hide ads" button has been implemented. It's at the top right corner, next to the search box. It looks like a little pull-out tab. Click that tab before you tab back to WoW and it should fix your FPS problem.

I know it's a workaround, but it's a start.
