Cooldown on this item is 10m.
This potion has a lot of applications for players who like to explore dungeons solo (not needed for classes that have stealth of course) Just make sure you have your timing well figured out before drinking the potion (running naked in test runs will avoid the need for repairs)
Mages beware that casting blink will break the invisibility. Running speed enchant to boots combined with the trinket "Nifty stopwatch" is the way to go!
This potion has a long cooldown time, so it's best to be judicious in its use. It's pretty good for sneaking around certain places in Dire Maul, though. Also there are some crowded areas out in the open (like EPL) where it comes in handy.
Wondering, does this work like the mage spell invisibility? If so, the uses for this in raids are pretty insane. Pop potion, clear effect, you're out of combat in the middle of a raid boss. Drink/eat to your hearts content, and go back in the fight, effectively doubling your manapool. oO
You can only use it out of combat, so it can't be used as an aggro dump.
Hmmm i have a question about this thing.... If i use this potion and open a door, will i reapear ore still be on stealth?!?!
Any interaction, save for talking/emoting etc., cancels the effect. Including abilities that don't break stealth.
This pot has a 10 minute cooldown to use another one. It, however, doesn't share the cooldown with any other pots.
It does however, trigger the 2 minute cooldown on all other potions.
This potion when used in conjunction with the Mage ability
, can extend the length of the time you remain invisible to up to ~38 seconds.
Simply drink the potion when you have ~1-2 seconds remaining on Invisibility, and you'll be seamlessly transfered into 18 seconds of "
Please note that any pets you have will not become invisible along with you upon drinking this potion. If you are trying to avoid detection by using this potion, be sure to dismiss your pet first.
I may have done it "wrong" somehow, but it seems this cannot be used to sneak past things in all instances- at least not heroic Slave pens. The guards that could see through stealth weren't falling for this.
Zalgradis used this in his ZalPalaPvP3 movie to imitate a Rogue.
He was carrying Zin'Roth Destroyer of Worlds and rogue gear while he was a Paladin, and approached Orgrimmar in a PvP realm.
He used this, ran up to behind a few duellers, attacked them, killed them in seconds and used the Gnomish Cloaking Device
to disappear again.
The reaction of one of his victims, a level 60 Tauren Hunter who had just beaten his opponent in a duel, then getting oneshotted by a rogue carrying a twohander which was actually a Paladin, was:
As of Patch 2.3, if you are a mage using this puts any other Invisibility Potions - and any mana gems/healthstones/Dark Runes you have - on a 10 minute cooldown but doesn't put your normal potions on a cooldown.
I don't know either.
I use these on a pvp realm for getting away from campers..Works great except against anyone with the lock buff, Detect Invisibility. I believe it does not work against druids in cat or hunters either. And I'd assume it wouldn't work against mages who use invisi, but i have yet to run into one that thinks about it at the time. Same thing with locks, as most do not have detect invisi up so i still get away the majority of the time. For my lowbie alts, i use lesser invisi pots.
Most of the time, you rez behind an object, pop one of these, and confusion ensues long enough for you to sneak away.
I made a stack of invisibility pots, but couldn't find them! Stupid potions.
Any reason to use this instead of Lesser Invisibility Potion?
Actually, if this is anything like the engineering trinket, you will not be un-invis'd until the END of the cast (when it goes off), because when I'm invis with the engineering trinket I can cast mount and I don't un-invis until the 3 second cast on my mount finishes.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but these actually have a 10 minute cooldown (as from the tooltip).
Use: Gives the imbiber invisibility for 18 sec.
(10 Min Cooldown)
I assume this would be good for BG's such as AB and AV where you must capture the enemy graveyards etc.
Many use them for arcatraz "stealth-run", it's pretty easy, but you have to wait 10 min between each run..
need four pots, then you basically start by running through the first hall in to the second room, and too the right the sec you come out of the hall, stay there and wait.. then you run to the hall with the two corpses, kill them then wait there to then run over to the way up to the next floor, then again to wait to run to the container room and camp by the container, kill the corpse-larva's and then finaly the container monster.
it was easier when you didn't have to kill the monster to get it.
on other notes, there is a funny thing if you script wide screen tabs on the upper and lower part of your screen by using: /script a=WorldFrame;a:ClearAllPoints();a:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", 0, -60);a:SetPoint("BOTTOMRIGHT", 0, 168)
it turns white instead of black as it usually is.
These can be used to great effect as a paladin in battlegrounds. During divine shield, if you don't do anything you will drop combat, at which point you can pop one of these to become invisible and many people will just assume you AFKed out, so you can find a new place to hide and heal away with your opponents not even noticing you're still there.
Also it start 10min CD on healthstone, so warlock must think twice before drink it.
"These potions now are on the same cooldown as other combat consumable potions (such as mana potions.)"
Seems they will have a 2 minute cooldown as of patch 2.4.3
Invisibility Potions now share cooldowns with all other potions such as Swiftness Potions.
One problem is that if you use an Invisibility Potion it will put ALL potions on a 10 minute cooldown instead of 2 minutes!
Bernard the Mixer is a fake entry, dont fall for it
lesser invisibility noone can see you unless they are freindly or are using a detect lesser invisibility potion or a warlock casts detect lesser, normal or geater invisibility on you the same with normal invisibility potions exept detect lesser won't detect you learned from experence
and it lasts longer.
First, no, Bernard the Mixer doesn't exist. I'm not sure why he's still there, but he simply doesn't exist. It's most likely someone uploading erroneous data to thottbot to confuse people.
Second, please make sure you read this, it is VERY important.
Although this potion works better than Lesser Invisibility, it shouldn't be used against elites. This potion (Invisibility Potion - the full, real-deal) isn't the same as Rogue's vanish, cloak, etc. I have verified many many of times of whether or not elites can detect this! THEY CAN! It doesn't even matter about the level! If you can't take on the mob you face, don't use an invisibility potion to get out of it if there are elites ahead, you'll learn the hard way what I learned.
Good luck dieing. I suggest you test my theory in Darkwhisper Gorge (where I'm currently Shadowmelded). :)

lesser inv potion cannot be used in combat - i supose it is the same for this one...
actualy lesser inv potion seems to be enough - i used it to run through group of ? level alies :)
when i looked back - they were still at my old location - wondering where am i :)
in this case i was not in combat mode when i used the potion
in combat - the potion icon becomes grey
Note the 10 minute cooldown, so much for joining in on stealth runs... :-P
Ok first of all, this DOES NOT work when on a mount,(I've tried it many times). Second when invisibilitie is on even when you walk into someone you don't see thier name, you just see their form. Third both lesser and the regular potions are exactly the SAME!The only difference is one is longer than the other and harder to detect. Fourth, like someone said earlier you cannot use this while in combat. Though it is realy good in BGs like WSG when your outside the enemy falg room and need to get in unnoticed, both the lesser and this one give you enough time to grab it and go. I hope this clears some issues up.
To contradict a post from above these are just as effective as a rogue's stealth. I used 4 as a 60 priest to get to the Bar in BRD without killing a thing. You just have to know where you can stop to wait for the cooldown. (Also had to use mind soothe to get by one part) The elementals at the bridge didn't even blink as I ran in between the two groups.
does this potion makes you drop on a mobs agro list? eg if you get agro as a healer, you take a potion, your agro drops or what?
Since it can't be used in combat, it probably wouldn't affect aggro either... =)
Mages beware. Just found out that this doesn't work through blink. I was trying to get to the bar in BRD, and was able to get past the door that the shadowforge gate opens without using a potion. But for the next part I used a potion, then blinked to save time. Next thing I know I'm being pounded on by like 5 guys.
Some basics for these potions
-Drink this potion before trying to run past mobs in instance. Do not perform any interactions/cast any spells/try and switch any Arathi Basin flags etc or youw ill appear.
-If you are not a rogue use stealth basics (run far away from mobs not through them and stay out of their line of sight.
-Potion cannot be drank once in combat so you cannot use it as ghetto vanish.
-PvP Tricks level 60 rogue can watch a level 45 (enemy or duel) rogue drink one at point blank range and that rogue will disappear.
-I have persoanlly used these to suprise people in WSG. I am fighting mid field and having just killed someone I see a group across the battle field. I run towards them with speed on and hit invis potion. From their perspective they think I stealthed far away. I continue to get close to them then I restealth before the timer elapses on the effect and now can open with Cheap Shot--Totally freaks people out.
i want to get the chest in the arena in stv and i was wondering if i drank one and the started opening the ches would i unstleath if i did?
When you go invisible, the screen fades and the monsters etc around you disappear. It's as if you're running through a desolate area (cave full of mobs, you can't see any, they can't see you).
Seeing as you wouldn't be aware of running right next to/into mobs, invisibility does just that, makes you invisible, whereas the previous version didn't. If you got too close you'd be caught.
This is quite fun to use getting past elites etc that you wouldn't be able to solo. Expensive little trick, but entertaining :)
I know you all said "Totall invisabilty" and i've used this potion, and before I use the last of my very hard earned herbs, I have to know, can you slip past enemy city gaurds with this potion, if so, alchimests can have a NEW role in city raiding,
*Ponders this malicious plot*
The screen effect it does to your screen is aswesome. if someone could find an item that gives the same screen effect for longer could you please post it here =)
im trying to look myself but no luck
nobody sells em anymore
the bog lords in steamvaults see through this, so much for soloing my arc key.
going to try to go thru the middle of the room although the timer isnt long enough /shrug
Reading the other posts, it seems that stealth and invisibility are different, so i'm assuming no, but just to be sure, can a rouge test it out for me please and post here? And does the druid's faerie fire counter this? Again, i'm assuming no, but It would be great if someone tested this out for me
if u have 2-3 of these u can solo the key. you need to go to the beginning cc one of the guys then kill the other. run out of the instance get health and mana then kill the other guy. then u go to the middle of the next area but close to the wall. pop this potion and run under the two fallen pillars in the middle left side of the huge ass room. sit and wait as close to teh wall and as far from the bog lord as possible for the cd to end. then u pop it again and run into the water and swim down fast. if u timed it correctly you shouldn't have been attacked. only thing is i have only done this with mage's invisibility... woulda helped a lot if i coulda used one of these b/c it has a longer invis time
When I use a potion the enemy might not be able to see me... I'm not able to see THEM either.. The screen turns foggy and enemies fade from sight.. Real annoying :-/
The quest where you turn into a "ghost" Saber on Azuremyst Isle did something similar, but THAT turned completely white.. So there might be a problem with the intel iMac and intel MacBook's videocard.
I play with these a lot... its def 18 seconds.
Plus this potion and the Lesser Invis Pot are on a SEPERATE cooldown. They are on the same GLOBAL pot cooldown, but different 10 minute cooldowns.
So you take one, all your potions are now ona 2 min cooldown. Your "Invisibility Potion" cooldown is at 10 minutes, but your "Lesser Invisiblity Potion" is only on a 2 minute. If you use a less after, then it goes to 10 minutes and you have an 8 minute wait total between the 2.
You can use a cloaking device as well =)
Can I use this potion in combat? Lesser invisibility potion can't be used in combat.
Do you stay invisible even when you're fighting with this potion ... or can you be seen by your opponent as soon as you strike a blow?
out of curiosity does anyone know if you lose agro by using one of these... like lets saying running away from mobs and have no way to heal or get away... if you drink one of these will you loose agro?

This is only 15 seconds, just like the first one, it's a slightly stronger version, but they're on the same cool downs... so, yeah, like my subject says. Kursor wish item was better, make Kursor sad.... /cry
Make better and make Kursor happy? Yes? No?
Fine... okay... bye...
Would a 60 warr be able to sneak solo to the BRD bar using some of these? My only real worry is the few tight areas along the way.
You want to know the real use of Invisibility pots?
You can cast hearthstone while invisible. It doesn't break invisibility. I always pick some up when I"m leveling in STV. Some 70 Mage shows and starts taunting me, then starts casting fireball... I pop the pot and hearth to Grom'gol. Fun as anything.
Bubble-hearth for the non-pally!
Any class can get into BRD bar with these.
