The Maiden's Anguish can be purchased from the Reagent Vendor in the tower inside Honor Hold. The silk thread can be purchased from the tailoring trainer on the second level of the inn. The gem can be purchased from the gem vendor just inside the door of the inn.

As of more recently, you no longer need to purchase the Gem for the Fei Fei Doggy Treat. The location of the Silken Thread and Maiden's Anguish remain the same. Purchase the Maiden's Anguish from the Reagant Vendor at the bottom level of the tower at Honor Hold. The Silken Thread can be purchased from the Grand Master Tailor on the 2nd Floor of the Inn.

You do not have to buy this item to complete the quest. You can simply go outside and go to the back of the inn. There will be a lootable pile of dirt. Loot it and you wont have to deal with Fei Fei.

I followed the advise of the previous posts and searched behind the inn quite thoroughly. I did not find any patch of dirt that I could interact with. If this happens to you, then just buy the two items you need to get the Fel Fel doggy treat. Luckily, both of these items can be purchased right there at Honor Hold.

Maiden's Anguish: You can buy this from the gnome regent vendor (Magis Zabraxis) just inside the tower.

Silk Thread: This can be purchased from the Master Tailoring Trainer (a draenei named Hama) on the second floor of the inn.

Take these items to Warrant Officer Tracy Proudwell (she is standing at a table just inside the eastern entrance to the fort) and use them to buy the treat. Give the treat to the dog, and then follow him around the keep until he digs up the beads.

Forget buying the treats. The beads are behind the inn towards the North corner of the building. Little brown patch of ground.

Ok, I thought this was fun.

I couldn't figure out at first where to get the treat. You have to attempt to redeem marks with the Warrant officer and in her list you see a treat for sale.

So in order to see this through , I got the items and then the treat and the followed the dog around the courtyard.

It certainly wasn't your typical killing quest, but I found it refreshing and creative.

If I remember correctly, she usually digs up something called Fei Fei's Stash. It looks something like a flat little mound of dirt, and she pulls one up whenever she stops. However, when a certain condition has been met, she digs up "Fei Fei's Cache." That's where you get the prayer beads from. I'm not sure if it always comes up in a certain place, but I got mine behind the inn.

I don't understand this.

I have all 3 required items. but I can't get her to sell me the treat.
It's not in her list of items when you click "I have marks to redeem" nor is there any other chat option.

The dog won't talk to me, neither dog or woman has a ! over their heads.

Is there a Rep requirement for this ? I'm already Honored ?

is there a pre-req quest ? I've done most...

I'm pretty disappointed. at the end, fei fei buried his treat, but there was no lootable spot this time. I was left quite empty handed :(

I spent 2g+ again, bought the silly treat, but soemone else started the quest. I waited behind the inn till fei fei showed up, waited for the original person who started it to loot, and sure enough the mound was still there and I was able to also loot it. And was left with a worthless doggy treat. Ah well. at least I got it :)

Warrant Officer Tracy Proudwell is located just outside the Blacksmith in Honor Hold. Her dog Fei Fei, if not roaming around, should be right there with a blue question mark above his head. If you can't find her, type '/target Warrant' and she should be targeted. Then look for the highlighted person.

Talk to her. She will then require three ingredients for the biscuit.

Sparkling Zircon (WTF 2g?) - Can be bought from the male human just inside HH inn. Turn left as soon as you walk in the door.

Maiden's Anguish - Can be purchased from a Gnome in the tower just south of HH inn.

Silken Thread - Can be purchased from the Dwarf outside the HH inn on the south side. He's sitting down in the general area of the outhouses.

As far as I can tell, this mission is mainly there to show you how to buy items with your HH tokens, where to buy general goods, leatherworking mats, reagents, and jewels.

I also believe this quest is semi-buggy. The first time I ran it, Fei Fei freaked out a bit at the end and was eerily moving all around behind the one building. It left no stash for me to grab. I was lucky enough to then party with a group that was having trouble, as well, and we were all finally able to grab the loot at the end.

I did this quest, followed him around and stuff, and then he buried his treat... except no cache popped up! Well, that was a fun waste of 2g. However, later I found two more people doing it, and this time the cache popped up. After they looted and left, I was able to loot it as well, so you might try just waiting behind the inn for someone else to do the quest, and looting after they've gone (don't ninja loot it before they do though)

Fei Fei isn't spawning the cache all the time at the moment. The longer a server has been online the worse it seems to be - might be best to attempt after a restart.

Another player and I both managed to start Fei Fei walking at the same time. We both lost our doggy treats. As we were following Fei Fei, only one of us could loot each of Fei Fei's Stash. However, both of us could loot Fei Fei's Cache at the end of the quest.

I don't think this means you can do the quest without buying a doggy treat. I don't think you can save the 2G+ for the mats. Just don't despair if you and another player are both following Fei Fei at the same time.

Also, I think it is possible to loot the Fei Fei's Stash even if you are not on the quest. However, I think that the only players that can loot Fei Fei's Cache are the players that are on the quest.

I spent the 2g 15s and traded for the doggie treat. After giving it to Fei Fei, he wandered off, through the forge, and stopped behind it. The cache that spawned there had the beads, but Fei Fei continued on, stopping several more times leaving unlootable mounds, before the last one behind the Inn. I was not able to loot anything after getting the beads. Net result, 2g buys me 4850 exp...

Did anybody ever get anything to sell or any coin reward?

I've started the quest, and dog was walking around looking for a hiding spot. Once the dirt mound appeard i looted it and got the prayer beads. Well, the dog continued walking around and making new mounds, yet they were not lootable anymore...
Yet people somehow claim they looted lots of them and found some nice grey staff (which would certainly make up for those 2g spent on zircon)

After I paid 1.5 g in AH for Sparkling Zircon and could not find other two items for sale...I tried ThottBot and sure enough...the answer was there.

I didn't even need to buy anything. I went behind the inn and bought the silken thread for 5 silver and on the opposite side of the building...found a dirt pile with nobody standing around it.

I went in...waited a minute as a courtesy to not be a ninja...and took the prayer beads...never having bought a treat.

Wish I had read this earlier.

1) As are many collection quests in World of Warcraft, there is NO PROMISE you will get the prayer beads on your first attempt. Keep doing the quest until you get the prayer beads, though, because the quest chains into 2 others that will get you your money back, and then some.

2) The mounds ARE ninja-able. Because of this, it is best to do this quest when fewer people are on, or around. People on this quest that know what to look for may try to steal your mounds.

3) There is no guarantee that the mound with the prayer beads will be called a "Cache". The prayer beads can be gotten from any mound the dog makes.

4) You can not loot the prayer bead mound after someone else if you are not in their group.

5) As Kairra stated above, Sparkling Zircon can be bought from the male human just inside the inn. Turn left as soon as you walk in the door (gem vendor). Maiden's Anguish can be purchased from a Gnome in the tower just south of the inn (reagent vendor). Silken Thread can be purchased from the Dwarf outside the inn on the south side. He's sitting down in the general area of the outhouses (leatherworker trainer/vendor).

At 54,63 (on the south side of the inn. Go down the row of soldiers getting addressed by the commander, go around that first corner, and look down.) there's a little mound of greyish dirt. It stands out pretty clearly from the rest of the ground.

When I left the inn and went to see the NPC, her stupid dog was with her, and I didn't start looking around until several minutes later (with the dog not moving a muscle). So it might just... be there. :P

I got lucky on this too - I got the quest, read your comments, went round the back of the inn and there's a nice little cache sitting there ready to be looted. There was noone around who seemed to be doing the quest so I don't think I ruined anyone else's try. I hope not!

As of today, the dog still moves around town, but it does not dig up any more caches. It makes little dig marks all over town that are not clickable and have nothing in them, and finally moves to the rear corner of the Inn behind the soldiers. I spotted the dirt before the dog got there, clicked it, looted it and got only the beads. Apparently, there are no more salable items with the beads.

I imagine this quest was important in the beginning of BC so that people would learn that the Master trainers also were the vendors, a situation they were not used to previously. After the first adventurers were initiated, they were able to inform new people and obtaining the items for the quest became less important. Now the necklace can be looted for free, or those who wish to actually experience the "flavor" of the quest can buy the mats, which now do NOT include the gem, buy the biscuit and follow the dog to the final point.

So:
* No Gem needed.
* No caches other than final.
* No salable items.
* No bisquit or dog needed.
* You still get full XP for completing this quest in the 20 seconds it takes to run to the corner and back to turn it in.

This was a easy quest and now you don't have to buy the Sparkling Zircon! Only 2 items are now required to complete the quest.

Maiden's Anguish costs only 10s from Magus Zabraxis directly inside the tower in Honor Hold.

Silken Thread can be purchased for 5s from the Brumman (master leatherworker) outside the Honor Hold inn.

I followed the dog around for a little while, and he kept digging in different places, but I couldn't select anything he was digging until he dug in the mound behind the inn. Anyone can see the mound of dirt already there, but you can't select the mound until you give the doggy his treat.

Ok ive read most of these and i just wanted to tell you all, you dont need to do anything with fei fei. the prayer beads are in a mound of dirt behind the inn and can only be looted if you have the quest to find the prayer beads. also i think fei fei is just so you can start other quests the dog doesnt do anything else.

No treat - No mound. True you don't need the gem, but I went to the spot before getting the treat and getting the dog started and there was no mound. I even started the quest, let the dog start his digging spree and went to where the mound SHOULD be and it was not there. Only after the dog made it to the corner spot behind the inn, did the mound I could loot appear.

You really do NOT have to buy all that stuff for the quest, you DO however have to talk with Fei Fei's owner *and* Fei Fei before you can loot it for anything other than a dog bone. It's behind the inn just to the left of the kneeling gent.

Well, my experience wasn't what people have posted here.

I looked behind the Inn to try to get the thing. It was not there.

I went to Tracy to ask about the dog. It immediately sent me to the menu for buying things from her. The last was the Fei Fei dog treat.

Went to the leatherworking trainer sitting behind the inn and got the silken thread. Went to the alchemy supply person at the bottom of the tower and got the maiden's anguish. Went back to Tracy and bought the treat. No gem was mentioned or required.

Talked to Fei Fei, hit continue to give her the treat.

Followed her around while she dug 4 or 5 holes I couldn't interact with. Finally she dug one behind the inn, that sparkled and had an interaction cog. It was not there before.

So, possibly unless somebody recently did this, you do need to buy the treat and follow Fei Fei around, but it only cost a few silvers.

Do not need to buy the treat. Just did it today, 4/10/08. The mound is in the dirt up against the building. Go out the door turn left at door, follow wall, make two lefts at corners mound is in front of you. Hope this helps.

Correct. Don't even bother with the treat. Just get the quest, go behind the inn, and you will see a little sparkling mound where you get the prayer beads.

All you have to do is walk behind the inn and grab the stuff no more than that. some people who have had problems have probably expierienced lag or maybe an ealier patch but all I had to do was go get it from behind the inn.

just completed it... just walk behind the inn and in a few seconds you'll see a glowing mound... didn't buy the doggy treat. easiest 4800xp i ever earned in this game.

Did as the others posts said and just went behind the Inn in the corner and looted the beads. I think thats probobly about it, because now the blue question mark is gone from the dogs head. Spent nothing and got some xp and the marks.

Version 9.2, no mound whatsoever in the whole town.

Tried talking to the dog owner, didn't change anything. You apparently have to give the treat to complete the quest now?
Why does this change every time I roll a character. Like, sometimes I get it with the treat, sometimes without.

Definitely bugged imo.
