Unfinished cooking recipe?
I fished some of these up - banked em until it's time to cook em.
I have yet to find the actual recipe for this one. You can find quite a few schools around Serpent Lake. If you swim out to the islands where there are no mobs you can fish undisturbed.
Recipe for Blackend Sporefish can be purchased from the Fishing Supplier (
) near Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh. Might be new as of 2.0.6.
Does anybody know what level of fishing is required to get these guys successfully?
Best Place to fish those is in Serpent lake but you need around 420 or more at fishing skill for fish them, otherwise youll get a lot of disgusting "ur fish has run away" etc :(
Fishing 385 is enough for fishing most of these around the lake near Cenarion refuge
Although it is possible to fish these anywhere in Zangarmarsh, the droprate is rather low (5-10%); it is much faster to fish them in Sporefish Schools that are rather common - just use your mount and run along the lake shores to find them.
Where in Zang is this fish most found in abundance?
The fish seems to be very boring to catch, as there is no pools for Zangarian fish, let me know if you find any :)
This is not junk, they're the reagent for
Used for cooking to make Blackened Sporefish
These aren't junk, they can be cooked into Blackened Sporefish (
). The recipe is sold by Juno Dufrain (
), who is found in the Southeast area of the Cenarion Refuge.
The fish isn't junk, it can be used to make Blackened Sporefish. 20 Stamina and 8 Mana every 5 seconds for 30 min. Recipe costs 2 gold
You get the recipe from the fishing supplier,Juno Dufrain, in the Cenarion Refuge, Zangarmarsh 78.1,66.2
He is behind the tower, on the Lake side fishing.
Reagent for Blackened Sporefish (
331 Skill +20 Pole +75 Lure = 100% in school
What is the respawn rate for schools? Have they static spawn places?
You don't have to be in a SSC raiding guild to fish for these without the risk of getting ganked. You can fish for these in Underbog as well, and you can quite easily get to the lake with any class that is level 70. Non-stealth classes can grab an invisibility pot off AH to make it easier. Pop stealth and hug the left wall past the two first packs of mobs, and you should be home free at the lake, safe and sound away any gankers.
It is also easily possible to Rocketboot to a safe spot if you're an Engineer.
I caught several sporefishes in zangarmarsh. I didn't know what to do with it. I thought it was similar to the stonescale eels and others.
I checked the AH but noone was selling it. I decided to vendor it only to realize that the sporefish can be cooked and turned to stat food.
There are Sporefish Schools in Zangarmarsh (e.g. The Lagoon), so you can get them easy.
what lvl fishing do these take?
Where can i have a recipe for this?
cought some in Serpent river easy at level 300+ fishing but need a recipe to cook it !
Recipe: Blackened Sporefish
can now be purchased from the fishing supplier in the Cenarion Refuge,
The recipe was NOT available when TBC first came out; it was added sometime during this past week (presumably with 2.06..?)
There are actual "Sporefish School"s scattered along the shores of the mid and western lakes of Zangarmarsh. Catching them with base 330+20 Fishing Skill will not always catch them, recommend the use of lures. Mats for good Mana class food, Happy Fishing.

All fish have a time during the day when they are best caught. Most other fish on thott have had their 'time' discovered. (the day is divided into 4 time slots)
Anyone experiment with the spore fish yet?
At what time of day is this fish caught?
best mp5 to my knowledge
the nightfin soup is the poor mans version of this, with only 10 min duration and no stam bonus, but will get you through raid bosses until you got skill high enough to fish up these
