Sporeggar Reputation Guide

is a tribe of Sporelings found along the western edge of Zangarmarsh. In this guide, we will cover how to gain reputation with them and the rewards for Sporeggar.

TBC Classic Reputation Overview
Sporeggar Location in The Burning Crusade Classic
Sporeggar is a tribe native to Outland, but with the changing climate of the marsh they're in, their entire existence has been put in danger. Endangered by the increased presence of bog monsters throughout the zone, they will justly reward adventurers who help them survive in the marsh.
The Sporeggar Faction Hub (aptly called Sporeggar) can be found in Western Zangarmarsh, along with the faction's Quartermaster

Unlocking Sporeggar in TBC Classic
Players must reach level 61 in order to unlock the initial starting quests for the Sporeggar Faction. Fahssn gives these first quests while you are still Unfriendly with Sporeggar. He is found at /way 19.0, 63.6
Farming Sporeggar Reputation in TBC Classic
Players begin their reputation with Sporeggar at Unfriendly, getting to Neutral by completing repeatable turn-ins of items located in western Zangarmarsh. Once you earn Neutral with the Sporeggar, you will gain access to more repeatable quests, which can be completed all the way to Exalted. Although you start the Sporeggar grind all the way at Unfriendly, it is quite quick to get to Exalted with them.

As players start at Unfriendly with the Sporeggar, they can only do two quests with them.

Each quest grants
750 Reputation
with the Sporeggar and unlocks a repeatable quest (with the same requirements and reputation reward):

for Mature Spore Sacs. Both these quests can be repeated all the way to Friendly, and since the area is filled with low-level mobs (for those that are level 70, the Bog Lords being levels 62-64), this is the easiest way to get to Friendly.
We suggest picking both
Natural Enemies
and
The Sporelings Plight
, turning only one of them in and repeating the quest all the way to Friendly, then turning-in the other quest. Since you can no longer pick either quest once you're Friendly with the Sporeggar, this makes it so you can gain some extra reputation to help you get through Friendly with minimal effort.
Neutral
Once you reach Neutral with the Sporeggar, Fahssn will offer the quest

, which grants another
750 Reputation
. You can go to the Sporeggar city in Zangarmarsh and turn it in, but there won't be a lot to do there until you're Friendly with them. At Neutral, only the quest

is available, which is not worth doing since

s are used as currency by the denizens of Sporeggar.
Friendly
Once you reach Friendly with the Sporeggar, you can go to the same-named city in Zangarmarsh, where several new quests are unlocked. All quests grant

with the Sporeggar, with the same reward given by the repeatable version.

Best Way to Farm Sporeggar Reputation
The easiest, and fastest way to gain reputation is with
成熟的孢子
and
红色木槿
turn-ins. Neither item is Bind on Pickup, so they can be purchased from the Auction House, and level 70 players with gear can even enter and get through the first portions of Normal Underbog to loot Sanguine Hibiscus.
Another way to gain reputation with the Sporeggar in the fastest way possible is by killing mobs in the zone—
Bog Lords
and
Bog Giants
, located at the Dead Mire and Quagg Ridge, grant
15 Reputation
per kill all the way to Revered, and they are also a good source for both

The most efficient way to build reputation with the Sporeggar is to kill Bog Lord and Bog Giant mobs all the way to Revered, and then completing Fhwoor's quest, both Underbog quests, and any turn-ins you might be able to obtain on your way to Exalted.

Sporeggar Reputation Rewards in TBC Classic

(/way 17.8 51.2) serves as the Quartermaster for the Sporeggar, located within a mushroom tent on the western portion of Sporeggar. Of note is the fact that gold is not used as a currency in Sporeggar, but

. Glowcaps can be found on the ground scattered around the western portion of Zangamarsh (

), or as a reward for

turn-ins.
Tiny Sporebat available at Exalted
While Sporeggar doesn't reward any mounts and certainly isn't armor-focused, you can earn the Tiny Sporebat pet at Exalted, and the Petrified Lichen Guard is an easy-to-earn shield option for Protection Paladins, which is useful for AoE farming. There are also a good number of profession recipes available. While expensive to craft, Mycah's Botanical Bag is very useful.

The Fertile Spores Quest was available for me before Friendly. I believe i picked it up at Neutral, but I'm not 100%. I CAN definitively state it does not require Friendly rep though, as I am currently Neutral, and have already completed it.

Like the author, I recommend picking up both Natural Enemies and The Sporelings' Plight, and turning in only spore sacs until you get "! Sporeggar". This will allow you to turn in Natural Enemies AFTER you turn friendly since it's in your quest log.
However, at Neutral, go to Sporeggar and pick up Glow Cap Mushrooms. Like with Natural Enemies, do NOT turn in the quest yet.
Go back and turn in the rest of your spore sacs until you hit friendly.
Then turn in both Natural Enemies and Glowcap Mushrooms. This will give you 1500 rep after friendly. You do not need to turn in "! Sporeggar" first but you do need to be level 62.
Instead of that last turn in of "More Spore Sacs" which would put you into friendly, you can grind bog lords until you are just a few rep points of friendly (2990/3000 neutral), thus giving you almost 2240 into friendly by turning in Natural Enemies, Glowcap Mushrooms, and Sporeggar for 3x750 rep into friendly. PLUS the last More Spore Sacs 750 rep at 2990/3000. Less fertile spore turnins. So with the bog lord grind to edge of friendly, you turn in 4 quests of 750. Giving you 3000 into friendly.
So, while neutral, do NOT turn in these quests "! Sporeggar", "Natural Enemies", nor "Glowcap Mushrooms" but DO pick up these quests before friendly!
To test, I grinded bog lords to 2994/3000 Neutral, I turned in the last More Spore Sacs. Then turned in the initial Natural Enemies. Then went to Sporeggar and turned in Glowcap Mushrooms and "! Sporeggar". With human bonus, this put me at 3294/6000 Friendly.
Then turned in 24 fertile spores to put me at Honored. SPORE SHIELD TIME!

If you just need the shield this is the fastest way:
Once you turn level 62 (not before - spores quest not available), buy from the auction house:
48 Bod Lord Tendrils
48 Fertile Spores
15 Glowcaps
7 Glowcaps
Run to Fahssn at around 19.64 in Zangarmarsh (just east of the Spawning Glen.) Pick up and turn in Natural Enemies quest. This unlocks the repeatable quest More Tendrils! Turn this in 7 times. This takes you from unfriendly through neutral up to friendly.
Run to Gshaff at around 19.50 in Zangarmarsh (in a hut in Sporeggar.) Pick up and turn in Fertile Spores. This unlocks the repeatable More Fertile Spores. Turn this is 7 times and you will be at Honored. That's it, you're done. As pointed out by Lovemonkey, each fertile spore turn-in awards you a Glowcap, so you should have 15 now.
Run across to Mycah to buy your shield for 15 Glowcaps.

Can anyone shed some light on the following? I found this under this reputation guide's Friendly to Exalted section:
You will also unlock the quest Bring Me Another Shrubbery!, a one-time escort quest that grants 1000 Reputation.
I've done both the shrubbery quest and am not aware of any escort quest that opens up. 1000 rep is a lot and I'd like access to this quest if anyone has insight, thank you!

I am a quest completist, so this includes all Sporeggar quests that were available. I also included a purchase list at the bottom of this post for quest items I purchased for the repeatable turn in quests.

Just buy sanguine hibiscus and turn in, you need about 250, tops for exalted and on my server they were about 4g/5

rewards 825 rep (with Mr. Popularity 10% bonus) per turn-in. Killing bog lords for 15 and 17 rep depending on size stops rewarding rep at 11999 honored. You can still turn in

Basically all of this is now irrelevant. You get huge amounts of rep from killing stuff in Underbog, so just do that. You get well over 10000 for a heroic clear and maybe 5000 for normal, so it takes no time ;)

Just did this rep in retail as of War Within. The easiest way is to run Underbog and turn in the Sanguine Hibiscus quest at the start of the dungeon. Exit the dungeon then reset and run it again. You'll get the rep in a handful of runs.

Jan 2026: The best way to gain Sporeggar XP is still to start with killing all bog lords and giants, etc., (the cave is a great start) until at least neutral, and then get the very sparse quests in Sporeggar plus the limited repeatables from little Fahssn walking around coords 19, 64.
The repeatable quest in Sporeggar is "Now That We Are Friends/Still Friends" from Gzhun'tt killing certain nagas, but you'll drive yourself bonkers trying to level on this alone, especially if others are doing it at the same time and, at this point, mostly one-shotting everything before you get there.
Go into The Underbog instance in Coilfang Reservoir to Tushui standing with the other quest givers just outside the instance. He is NOT in the Sporeggar village as some including AI have posted. He will give you the repeatable "Bring Me A Shrubbery" and "Bring Me Another Shrubbery" at 750 xp each. I had the herb Sanguine Hibiscus in my bank (thank goodness for being a Wow hoarder!) from earlier alts doing the instance and bought a few more at 1g each (Jan 2006 price on Blade's Edge) and leveled to Revered quickly without ever having to go into the instance to farm it.
Why worry about this Outland quest at level 80 in 2026? Easy: the new house decor. As an alchemist, I needed to learn Transmute Primal Earth to Primal Water for decor crafting and at this point it's over 1K g for each Primal Water on the AH. The unfortunate aspect is that it may still be on a daily CD, but at least now I can do it. GL! :)
