Welcome to Wowhead's Best in Slot Gear list from Tempest Keep and Serpentshrine Cavern for Priest Healing in The Burning Crusade Classic. This guide will list the recommended gear for Priest Healing to acquire while they progress during the second phase of The Burning Crusade Classic, and contains gear sourced from Tempest Keep and Serpentshrine Cavern, plus other pieces from previous phases like Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon's Lair, heroic dungeons, early PvP grinding, professions, BoE World Drops, and reputations.

Best In Slot Gear for Priest Healing in Phase 3
Healer gearing always heavily depends on playstyle, situation, and raid environment, so treat the BiS list below as a guideline rather than a gospel. Trinkets, for example, are always situational, so you should have several and swap them based on the encounter.
Phase 3 Priest BiS consists of two different sets. The difference between the sets is fairly small, so if you don't feel like swapping around often, you can just choose one and stick to it.
The
T5 4P
set will be the go-to for the majority of Phase 3, as T6 tokens are fairly contested, but both set bonuses being great makes this a super competitive option. Even once you have access to T6, it could potentially still be worth it to swap to this set on renew-heavy encounters since it's not unrealistic for the set bonuses to outperform the stat gains from the other set.
The
T6 4P
set has higher healing power and regen stats than T5 4P but significantly worse set bonuses. Depending on how much the Phase 3 fights favour Renew, either this set or the T5 4P will be the set of choice for encounters that primarily consist of free casting.
If you still have Tailoring,

can be worth using on encounters in which you are chain-casting most of the time. This can be done with both sets, though it's better with T6 once you have access to it.

Should Priest Healing Choose Aldor or Scryer for BiS in TBC Classic Phase 3?
Although the

is fairly unimportant for healers, as both

The choice technically also affects whether

will proc a healing power buff or a direct heal on your target in Phase 5, but as you'll likely already have

In conclusion, if you care about the slight stat advantage, you should opt for the Aldor, but if you'd like to choose the Scryers, you should go for it, as the shoulder enchant won't ever make a noticeable difference.

Cowl of Absolution
is what you'll want to use if you want the additional healing power and mana regeneration from the T6 4P set. As we share our tier token with Warlocks and Paladins, they'll usually take a while to get.
Cowl of the Avatar
is your go-to earlier in the phase, and still a great option later on if you opt for the T5 4P set, as it helps you access the strong

Cowl of Benevolence
isn't quite as good as Cowl of Absolution, but can be used as a placeholder, as it might take a while before it's your turn to receive tier tokens.

Mantle of Absolution
again has higher healing power and sustain in exchange for less useful set bonuses. If you've also got access to the crafted shoulders, you'd ideally use T6 on encounters that primarily consist of loose casting, rather than chain-casting.
Depending on your playstyle,
Mantle of the Avatar
is still a strong contender in this phase, as the Renew and Greater Heal bonuses are amazing, even in Phase 3.
Swiftheal Mantle
is technically the highest value item for GCD-capped situations in this slot, so if you are still a Tailor, it's definitely worth crafting. Keep in mind that it does not require Tailoring to be used, which means you can swap it for a different profession after crafting it.

Shroud of the Highborne
is an amazing cloak that grants you a whole 2% haste as well as decent other stats, which is why it's not replaced until the next expansion. However, some more hardcore guilds might choose to give it to caster DPS instead, since it's technically their best cloak by a tiny margin.
Both
Sunshower Light Cloak
and
Shroud of Forgiveness
are your next best options and roughly on-par with each other, so simply stick to whichever one of these you get first if you can't get Shroud of the Highborne.

offer slightly higher healing power and stats than the alternatives but have far worse set bonuses.
Gloves of the Avatar
remain one of the best items in this slot if you'd like to keep the T5 set bonuses at the cost of some healing power and mana regeneration.
Gloves of Unfailing Faith
are a slightly worse version of the T6 gloves, but can be a solid placeholder if you aren't too bothered by missing out on a set bonus, especially considering the T6 bonuses are fairly unimportant.

is by far the best choice for encounters in which you are chain-casting the majority of the time and could use the additional throughput. Apart from that, there's a version of it for every armor type, so it's a very uncontested drop.
Belt of Divine Guidance
is essentially a
Belt of the Long Road
with slightly more Intellect and Stamina. If you find yourself not being GCD-locked often on an encounter and would rather have the additional sustain, this is a decent swap.

Blessed Band of Karabor
is an incredible ring that will be highly sought after by most healers. Since it has a good amount of healing power combined with decent sustain stats, as well as nearly 2% haste, and is also not Unique, you won't replace it with anything else until the next expansion. However, there are a few similar alternatives in Phase 4 and Phase 5, so not getting two isn't the end of the world.
Band of the Eternal Restorer
has around 84.6 to 87.3 average healing power when accounting for the proc, which means it's about equal to
Coral Band of the Revived
and is a fairly great ring, especially considering it's simply a reputation reward.

Best in Slot Trinkets for Priest Healing in TBC Classic Phase 3
Essence of the Martyr
remains the best option for throughput, and can be combined with
Direbrew Hops
on bosses for which you don't need any mana regeneration trinkets. They both have 133.5 average healing power, assuming the encounter is over right as the cooldown ends, meaning realistically they can be worth even more than that on a given fight.
Memento of Tyrande
has 118 static healing power and 15.2/16.3/17.5 average MP5 at 24/30/40 cpm, respectively. Due to Direbrew Hops being available earlier than expected, it's a rather unimportant upgrade unless you missed out on the Brewfest. While it's certainly better in terms of value, the main use case for throughput trinkets is encounters on which you aren't struggling with mana at all, or at least not enough to warrant using a regeneration trinket, so having an additional 15.2 to 17.5 MP5 isn't really spectacular.
Eye of Gruul
is a good option for any situation in which you are mainly casting Circle of Healing as the 2% proc chance is per target hit, not per cast. This means on encounters that primarily consist of CoH spam, the trinket can technically be worth up to 140-145 MP5 on average, therefore it's solid for the majority of the T6 trash, and also most T6 boss encounters. While that value is fairly unrealistic for most fights, around 30 to 40% CoH usage is when EoG will generally provide more value than Blue Dragon, though you can also combine them, of course.
Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon
is not quite as good as Eye of Gruul for CoH-heavy bosses, but still provides a decent amount of MP5 even when you are mainly casting single-target heals. With T6 BiS gear (assuming T5 4P set), it's worth 54/66/86 MP5 on average with 24/30/40 casts per minute, respectively, regardless of what spells you are casting specifically.

Earring of Soulful Meditation
is mostly a PvP trinket, but it's also most likely the next best thing if you don't have access to at least two of the five previously mentioned trinkets. In T6 BiS gear (T5 4P), it's worth 80.4 average healing power and 20.59 MP5 if you continue casting during the entire proc, or 68.66 MP5 if you spend the entire proc outside of the five-second rule.
Ashtongue Talisman of Acumen
is a very situational trinket since its value heavily depends on your playstyle. As it still provides roughly the same value as Direbrew Hops when you're having 4 Renews up at all times during an encounter, you'd need to consistently keep up even more than that for it to be worth using. If you average about 4.5/5/5.5 Renews rolling, the estimated value would be around 157/183/200 healing power on average, respectively. Realistically, this will only be the case if you are not specced into Circle of Healing.

Best in Slot Weapons for Priest Healing in TBC Classic Phase 3
Crystal Spire of Karabor
is by far the best Phase 3 weapon and should generally be your #1 priority if you're a CoH priest, since the only items you could potentially want to replace it with are the Kil'jaeden weapons.
The third equip effect can proc on any of the targets healed by multi-target healing spells such as Circle of Healing or Chain Heal, which is particularly great for priests since the CoH coefficient is fairly low. This means if you heal a party in which everyone is under 50% HP, on average, it'll be as if you had an additional 936 healing power for that cast, though, of course, that's a somewhat rare scenario.
While this effect provides slightly more value for CoH than for Chain Heal, it's best to simply give this weapon to your best shaman or priest first, and then the remaining ones. As it cannot proc off Heal over Time effects and isn't as useful on tank healers, Restoration Druids and Holy Paladins should ideally have lower priority on the weapon.
This proc is also affected by the talents

Apart from the Crystal Spire, Phase 3 adds a load of new weapons that are all fairly great in case you haven't gotten
Lightfathom Scepter
in the previous phase.
Hammer of Atonement

in particular should all be relatively uncontested.

is hands down the best pick in Phase 3, as it has the highest healing power and mana regeneration stats out of all currently available offhands, along with a decent bit of Stamina.
While
Touch of Inspiration
is not as good as the other Phase 3 option, it's still better than all offhands from the previous phase and fairly uncontested, since only Restoration Druids and healing Priests generally use offhands.

Veteran's Pendant of Salvation deserves to be mentioned for necklaces with its high stamina (especially good for encounters like Naj if you are currently wearing a no-stam neck). The honor neck offers 30 stam, 13 int, 5 mp5, and 62 healing power if you choose to socket it with a teardrop living ruby.

Something is wrong with the way the gear planner calculates mp5. For the T5 4P set, MP5 under the 'spell' section is shown as 148, but the 507 int, 366 spirit and 73mp5 in the set grants 188 mp5 inside the 5 second rule (and 457 mp5 while not). The summary above the gear planner states 275 I5SR and 673 O5SR - what's the basis of those numbers please?
