Welcome to Wowhead's Best in Slot Gear list from Phase 4 Zul'Aman for Fire Mage DPS in The Burning Crusade Classic. This guide will list the recommended gear for Fire Mage DPS to acquire while they progress during the fourth phase of The Burning Crusade Classic, and contains gear sourced from Zul'Aman, Black Temple, and Mount Hyjal, plus other pieces from previous phases like Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, heroic dungeons, arena PvP Gear, professions, BoE World Drops, and reputations.
Best In Slot Gear for Fire Mage DPS in Phase 4
Fire Mage might not provide the most optimal DPS this phase but it has it's unique twist and aesthetic to it. To those that enjoy this play-style of hard hitting

on cooldown - it's important to understand your raid's composition, as well as it's bonuses.
It's safe to assume most people won't be spoon fed all support at once. Realistically a Fire

Fire Mage Bis Set
AoE Gear for Optimal Overall Performance in Phase 4
Although Fire

focuses mostly on it's Fire spells, when it comes to AOE - it falls more so in line with Arcane. This is because outside of
which ideally isn't taken, and
- your AoE rotation will focus on

. First because it does more damage, second because
allows you to avoid any threat issues you may encounter. With this said
still has it's use when pre-cast during a pull. Because fire scales so well with haste, there's almost no issue with stacking it towards cooldown usages. This means your main set is already a great starting point for your AoE damage outside of a few tweeks:

Since trash mobs are lower level, the spell hit required is also lower - you can replace

on trash are great swaps because of their haste.
Aldor vs. Scryer for Fire Mage DPS in Phase 4
At this point in the game mages are likely to already have either one or the other but if not here is some basic information:
Aldor provides +18 spell power, and +10 spell crit rating
Scryer provides +12 spell power, and +15 spell crit rating
They're extremely close when it comes to output but to summarize you should make your decision based on what you focus on - Aldor pushes ahead by about 2-3 DPS in Single Target, while Scryer outperforms by a similar amount in AoE scenarios.
Badges of Justice for Fire Mage DPS in Phase 4
In phase 4 we get plenty of new badge items, for fire mages they're mostly just temporary upgrades depending on what you already have. I'll touch on each one on it's respective slot explanation below.

is a solid alternative, especially if you need a bit more survivability. Now in phase 4, we also get

vendor. This belt outperforms most of the other alternatives, including

is still worth mentioning mostly because of how well it performs in AoE scenarios.

in terms of performance if already hit capped.
Recommended Feet Enchant:
Mobility is too important to pass up in end-game content so

since it still gives you movement speed but not the stamina which can save you in some situations, although it's not a bad idea temporarily if you're short on gold.

but it's significantly worse, performing more so similarly to

Even though these are the best personal dps items for this slot,

and
夜枭之链
are optimal to use for the raid's overall dps. As long as you use their respective active abilities to buff the rest of the group. These are best used when coordinated with your raid. Because of these any pre-raid options are not even worth mentioning since you can get them crafted for very cheap.

is still by far the best weapon in phase 4. If you're somehow extremely lacking in spell hit and without access to the former, then

is a great alternative. Now in phase 4 we also get access to

which has haste of it's own and performs similarly to the season 3 pvp alternative.
Until you get a raid upgrade,

from season 2 doesn't require arena rating now, it also only takes around four to five weeks to farm the required points at very low ratings. If you're already an active member of the PvP community, then

is almost comparable with

so I don't recommend trying to get it.
