In this Pre-Raid Best-in-Slot Gear List for Enhancement Shaman DPS in The Burning Crusade Classic, we will list the recommended gear for Enhancement Shaman DPS to aim for when gearing up to raids in The Burning Crusade Classic, including gear sourced from Normal and Heroic Dungeons, professions, BoE World Drops, and reputations.

Pre-Raid Best In Slot Gear for Enhancement Shaman DPS in Phase 1
The best Pre-Raid gear is a mix of

crafted gear,

gear, and the best off-pieces remaining for the rest of the slots. In the Anniversary Edition of The Burning Crusade Classic, it appears that raids will all be released in their post-nerf state. So when considering your pre-raid gear, prioritize the items that will not be replaced easily by overall BiS gear. Look at the gear that offers Hit and Expertise Rating, and aim for getting weapons ASAP.

is the best meta gem, and scales well with the rest of your gear, as it acts as a multiplier on your damage output. Typically, you will gem pure Strength regardless of the colors for the socket bonus. However, you will need to meet the Meta gems' minimum color requirements, in which case we'll typically use

to help do so.

Aldor vs. Scryer for Enhancement Shaman DPS in Pre-Raid
Shamans can pick both

without much penalty. The Aldor shoulder enchant is slightly better, but the difference is minuscule from the Scryers enchant when considering your full gear stat bonuses. In general, it is best to pick based on which faction is cheaper to buy reputation materials for, as Aldor, for example, can often be extremely expensive due to having the favored shoulder enchant for most specializations.
Aldor offer a
very slightly
superior shoulder enchant for DPS.
Scryers offer a decent pre-raid leg option with

Scryers are usually the less popular faction, making their reputation turn-in items often cheaper than Aldor equivalents.

Pre-Raid Best in Slot Weapons and Offhands for Enhancement Shaman DPS in Phase 1
When considering your weapons, you should aim for
weapon synching
, which is ideally done with two equal speed weapons so that they stay synched throughout the fight after the initial effort. This list will show you your available options for matching weapon speed in your main and offhand.
Duel-Wielding two
Gladiator's Cleavers
is the best option for Orcs before going into raids, for non Orcs, it'll be the Cleaver in the off-hand, and
Gladiator's Right Ripper
in the main. With the Anniversary Edition of TBCC making Arena gear much more accessible, it is much easier for the average player to obtain these. We highly encourage getting into the Arena to get two of these, as they will also be your overall BiS for Phase 1! The level 60 PvP weapons,
High Warlords Cleaver
, are actually very strong too, should you not have time for Arenas, and your luck with dungeon drops not be great. It should be noted that the dungeon option,
The Harvester of Souls
, although powerful, is only about a 4 dps difference from the level 60 PvP weapons. So if you already have these weapons from Classic, enjoy them!
Dragonmaw
or
The Bladefist
are also great, if PvPing is completely not an option. The latter can be paired with one
Harvester of Souls
, matching a 2.6 weapon speed. The former, however, only has one weapon to pair it with, and it's a level 61 world drop item,
Fist of Reckoning
. With Arena gear becoming much more accessible, we actually suggest not opting into Blacksmithing and avoiding this crafted mace, especially with Arena weapons being extremely accessible now.
Note
:
If a weapon does not specify whether it's for the main-hand (MH) or off-hand (OH), then it is good for both and can be duel-wielded.

TBC Beta testers have confirmed that the Blacksmithing axes, Planar Edge and Black Planar Edge, are more powerful than the Dragon maces (for all races) because the mace haste PPM is less than 1.0.

It should also be mentioned that the goggles aren't out by release. And the guide neglects to mention the importance of your weapons speed compared to each other. As well as the guide being out of date in regards to the newest changes on the beta.

Hi, so at the start you cant dual wield the dragonmaw hammers. I think you should add this note to your list. Aswell as the earlier mentioned change to Engineering goggles.

This guide puts *far* too much emphasis on items with hit rating; while a lot of the good items from quests/dungeons come with Hit Rating anyway, there's so many items I would put ahead of the likes of Wastewalker Helm, Mantle of Perenolde and Fel Leather Boots.

There's very few options for weapons listed, 2 of them require a profession that I don't have and 2 of them require PVP that's not interesting to me. Please include some of the "worse" weapon options.

Personally, I would add one or two more chestpieces as the only ones listed are either BOP from certain professions, or from Arena, and while alternatives aren't nearly the strength of the former I feel they should still be included; my two suggestions would be either the
Tunic of Assassination
or the
Wastewalker Tunic
. Again, both those are far worse than the three currently listed in the guide but LW and PvP items will not be on the cards for many players.
Similarly, while Reflex Blades/Harvester of Souls are mentioned as non-BS and non-PvP weapons, I'd like to see maybe 1 or 2 more options there be added; perhaps the
Bloodskull Destroyer
as it can be used in MH or OH, and maybe the
Boggspine Knuckles
too.
The weapon section should also list
Black Planar Edge
for Orcs only
as their racial makes that superior to the BS mace - while some people suggest that the Axe is better for all races, but that's still still not clear. And to prevent the weapon section being a huge list, I'd remove both Drakefist Hammer & Gladiator's Pummeler from the section as both are completely redundant.

Yo, all melee dps+hunters should have

really useful against demons and undead, the item drops from kt the final boss of naxx, and at lvl 70 naxx is quite fun. And many bosses (except in grull+zul a) from raids are demons or undead.
