Welcome to Wowhead's Best in Slot Gear list from Phase 4 Zul'Aman for Beast Mastery Hunter DPS in The Burning Crusade Classic. This guide will list the recommended gear for Beast Mastery Hunter DPS to acquire while they progress during the fourth phase of The Burning Crusade Classic, and contains gear sourced from Zul'Aman, Black Temple, and Mount Hyjal, plus other pieces from previous phases like Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, heroic dungeons, arena PvP Gear, professions, BoE World Drops, and reputations.
Best In Slot Gear for Beast Mastery Hunter DPS in Phase 4
In Phase 4, there technically isn't a whole lot that changes for Beast Mastery Hunters.

, then there are alternative gearsets utilizing it that are only 3-4~ dps behind absolute BiS and it is perfectly fine to keep using it.

Aldor vs. Scryer for Hunter DPS in Phase 4
In Phase 4,

is still the best faction choice for Hunters, however choosing

is not the end of the world, as the difference is very minor. There are no new key items that we benefit from in Phase 4. The only relevant item is still the shoulder enchant

Besides the shoulder enchants, there is nothing else of relevance for hunters in terms of raid gear or enchants that we "must" have. Reputations Overview TBC Classic
Best in Slot Head Armor for Beast Mastery Hunter in TBC Classic Phase 4
Cursed Vision of Sargeras
is still absolute BiS in Phase 4 and should still be one of your biggest and immediate priorities. This item will still be highly contested by basically every other physical dps class; however, there are multiple reasons why you can argue taking this over other classes first. The first being hit cap, Hunters lose the vast majority of their hit rating when dropping Tier 5 gear for Tier 6, so this item is one critical piece to maintaining cap.
The second benefit to this item is that the DPS gain is so significant over
Rift Stalker Helm
that you can break 4p Tier 5 for it and only have 3/5 T5 and still be ahead.
If you are unfortunate and not prioritized this item first over other classes in your guild, I highly suggest you do arena games for points and acquire
Vengeful Gladiator's Chain Helm
. While it doesn't provide stats anywhere near as good as the former, it does provide some additional hit rating compared to the other options of Phase 3, which will ease the DPS loss over other options available.
Gronnstalker's Helmet
will be best for Survival Hunters, so you should never take this over them under any circumstances.

Gronnstalker's Spaulders
is one of the better individual pieces of Tier 6 for Hunters. Paired with the gloves, they are the best two pieces of Tier 6 to break 4p Tier 5 early with and provide a decent dps gain. Now that Hunters share the tier token with Warriors and Shamans, this token will be contested early on, and Warriors can use it immediately, while Hunters have to wait until obtaining at least 2 pieces and have the supporting gear to make the swap.

. With the swap in gear for Phase 4 and juggling items around to maintain hit cap, this becomes the best option across the board. You will still have to fight with other classes, such as Fury Warriors, and you can argue that it is better to prioritize them over Hunters for this cloak, so you may be waiting a while.

Gronnstalker's Chestguard
is another piece used for the 4 set bonus. By itself, this piece of Tier 6 is not the best to aim for immediately, and you can't use it without the rest of the set. Doing so would result in a dps loss as you would have to break the 4p Tier 5 set bonus.
This tier token should be passed to the Warriors first, as they can see an immediate use for it and an upgrade with it. Only after obtaining the Tier 6 Shoulders and Gloves should you aim for the chest.
Rift Stalker Hauberk
will remain your best option until the time you replace it with
Gronnstalker's Chestguard
, and no other alternatives should be used or picked up.

are the absolute BiS for Phase 4 and finish off the 4p Tier 6. It is worth mentioning that this piece of Tier 6 is the weakest piece by itself and should only be swapped once you are ready to transition into 4p Tier 6. Acquiring this token should be relatively easy, and you can have it ready to use as soon as you get your other pieces of the tier.
Assuming you acquired

early and broke your 4p T5, you can then replace whatever legs you are using with
Rift Stalker Leggings
to reacquire 4p T5 for an even bigger early dps gain.
Shady Dealer's Pantaloons
are an alternative route you would go if you did not have access to Cursed Vision of Sargeras or had low priority on it. While
Bow-stitched Leggings
would technically be better, you should never take these over Survival hunters under any circumstance, and they are also going to be highly sought after by Enhancement Shamans and Retribution Paladins,s making it an unrealistic option.

are the absolute best option for Beast Mastery Hunters in Phase 5. This will be one of the smaller upgrades from Phase 2; however, it is not highly contested, so you shouldn't have any issues obtaining these within a reasonable time.
Softstep Boots of Tracking
and
Quickstrider Moccasins
are two good alternatives that you could temporarily use if you needed Hit Rating. Enhancement Shamans may also want these boots, so it is recommended you do not take these from them, as you have many other good options for Hit Rating in other gear slots.
Nyn'jah's Tabi Boots
are a great new option as well for this gear slot, especially if you are struggling with hit rating.

Rings in Phase 4 will be a gear slot that will see a lot of swapping around, depending on your own personal situation going into Phase 4. If you happened to obtain
Stormrage Signet Ring
, then I highly suggest you continue to use it and take advantage of the major piece of loot you were given, as it is only VERY slightly behind absolute BiS.
When having a Boomkin in your raid to provide additional Hit, your best two rings will be the new
Signet of Primal Wrath
with
Band of the Eternal Champion
. For 9% Hit builds, you'll rock the latter ring with
Stormrage Signet Ring
.
While
Stormrage Signet Ring
is a very good option and nearly BiS, it is one of the smallest upgrades for Beast Mastery Hunters compared to alternatives and is a much bigger upgrade for other classes. I would recommend passing this item to other classes and focusing on

instead.

will be highly contested by nearly every single physical dps and even Feral Druid Tanks, depending on their current trinket situation. Now with

available, I wouldn't put the Black Temple trinket as a high priority. If you still desperately need the Hit and no one else needs this trinket, then by all means take it, as it's still relatively good.

One surprising fact is that if you gem

. The set is very close to Non-PvP BiS options, and the additional 8/16 Hit Rating can be a big benefit.

In Phase 4, nothing changes in terms of two-handed weapons, except for getting another option for weaving. If you are well off with hit rating and you also melee weave proficiently, then you will continue to use

Trollbane
is another good option and practically the same in terms of dps. You will,l however, want to switch to dual-wielding options if you have them when not weaving for Phase 4 due to much better options available now, as well as the new enchant providing additional agility.
Halberd of Desolation
is the second option and will be an incredibly useful weapon to pick up early on for every single Hunter. It will not be contested by any other classes, and the 30 hit rating will help greatly while working on the rest of your gearset. This, however, should not be a long-term item as relying on
Halberd of Desolation
is a huge dps loss compared to other available options and gear.

remain BiS for Phase 4. From a pure DPS standpoint, the former is the better option to go for. The latter would be better suited for those that really struggle with mana due to low uptime on
or for those who speedrun and don't have a lot of downtime to drink fully between pulls.
For Dwarf Hunters, it is recommended you do arena games every week for points and then push for 1850 rating so that you can obtain
Vengeful Gladiator's Rifle
. While it will take quite some time to gather 3750 points, it will be your best option available to you.
If you were unlucky early on in Phase 3 with either option and
Ancient Amani Longbow
drops, then by all means take it and use it temporarily.

Quivers for Beast Mastery Hunter DPS in Phase 4
Hunters are unique in that they have to use one of their bag slots specifically for their ammunition. If you use a Bow / Crossbow, then you will use a Quiver. If using a Gun, then you'll use an Ammo Pouch. Below, you can use the togglers to see which specific ones you need and can obtain in TBC Classic.
In Phase 3, we finally got a new quiver, the long-awaited
Quiver of a Thousand Feathers
will now be available, providing an additional 6 ammo slots.
All quiver stats share the same 15% ranged attack speed; the only difference is the slot size.

Hunters will also need to use specific ammunition for their weapons, and not only that, certain ammunition will be stronger than others, so it's best to know which one is the best for your specific weapon. Assuming we have a shammy in raid and only need 5% hit what gear do you suggest switching to drop the hit and increase dps?

QUESTION you say realistically for best in slot so does that make my stormrage signet ring and signet of primal wrath combo the best for BM or is it primal wrath ring and band of the eternal champion ring max rep for MH best 2 rings ...... im confused which combo is best in slot if i dont need hit
