I think its a worthwhile talent for only 2 points. If you're dpsing in a 5 man you're probably expected to backup heal and this is going to give you a bit more bang for your buck.

This may be like 250+ healing if you have a strong feral gear. Even in PvP, this make your heals much better without changing your gear. Very good talent for only 2 points

I'm going to have to go with PvP talent for this. If you're in Feral gear then you're probably specced for cat form DPS, meaning lots of strength, and your key survival trait is the ability to incapacitate your enemy through stuns or Cyclone and heal yourself. This will help with that.

In instances, feral druids are frequently tanking, and resuming caster form to heal someone is often a death sentence in itself. In raids, if you need a healing Feral-geared druid to save you from a wipe, then you probably need more healers from the word go.

It's also a good soloing talent, I suppose, as it'll help cut downtime out of the picture. Overall, I would skip it in favor of something with more impact, like naturalist, which will do essentially the same thing (faster heals mean more healing per second) in addition to increasing the damage you deal, and more damage means shorter fights means less downtime.

EDIT: Since the talent was revamped, it is absolutely worth taking all of the time if you can possibly spare 2 points. The +healing part of the talent is fantastic for PvP/solo play/emergency healing, and the +20% healing receieved in Cat Form is perfect for every possible application of Cat Form there is. In short: get this!

I'm a little confused as to what exactly is happening with this talent come 2.4 but I'm confident it will be good!

Currently this page reads that at rank 2/2 Nurturing instinct: "Increases your healing spells by up to 50% of your Strength, and increases healing done to you by 10% of your Attack Power while in Cat form."

But that's not what Updated patch notes say! They say: "Nurturing Instinct increases your healing spells by up to 50/100% of your Agility, and increases healing done to you by 10/20% while in Cat Form."

Whoa... I sincerly hope that the Updated Patch notes are correct because if they are I will be shifting some points around in my spec for this.

so is this talent good for the takeing ? before 2.4 it was almost not used but now... and some specs will get messed up and will need skipping 2 points in a talent... my question is - Is it worth it ? i have a druid and when i ding lvl70 i want my spec to be http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxGGsfroeuioVxoz but now with the "buff" to Nurturing Instincts im in a dilema :D

As of 2.4, 2/2 points in this talent also increases the healing done by Improved Leader of the Pack by 20%, but not by 100% of your agility.

This can give you a lot of healing when you load yourself up in HoTs and then transform yourself to Cat form.
All the HoTs will give you 20% more. Good for regaining your health back very quickly.

this is a must have talent. amazing. no feral druid should be without it. druids are a hybrid class and should act like it; using their diversity and versatility to take advantage of all situations. 2 talent points and some int makes you a fairly potent healer on one target.
this means you don't have to wear +healing gear to heal, allowing you to maintain a cat/bear form spec and stats. so long as you maintain a healthy ballance of stats (all of them!) you will be able to turn out decent dps, decent healing, and decent cc in both pvp and pve.
understanding how to use a druid properly will not often put you at the top dmg or top healing in a bg. but you will kick ass and win battles, lots of them.

this talent - imo - is SO not worth it, considering what the shamans have

30% attack power = spell dmg... a great hybrid talent, no doubt - but druids should be able to hybridize too! a 2K attack power elemental shaman can dish out 600 spell dmg, thats more than most average geared mages are when they ding 70...

250 to 300 agility? come on... make it like the shaman talent, then we can talk

May I also add that this is incredible for leveling up feral, because now, if a group needs a healer, you've got it. Especially if you have a healing set, this is a money talent.

This talent is getting nerfed from 100% of agility -> healing to 75% when the patch comes out on Tuesday... obviously to deal with those pesky 2400 rating FERAL druids. If you don't believe me, check out the updated WotLK talent tree on this site. And yeah, I'm praying that I'm wrong.

Increases your healing spells by up to 70% of your Agility, and increases healing done to you by 20% while in Cat form.

This means that 70% of your agility becomes + healing power. The fantastic part of this is when they merged Healing Power with Spell Damage into Spell Power, this spell got to be twice as good.

For example in Resto gear "Druid A" might have 1600 +healing before the merge. Today he has 800 spell power. "Feral druid B" had 450 agility so he had 315 +healing before the merge. Today "Feral Druid B" still has 315 +healing.

So essentially without changing the mechanics of the talent, this got twice as potent for feral druids spot healing. This will get even better as we level up to 80 as most of our gear is agility and stam only, instead of the agility, stam, strength, and intellect we have now. Plus if you can hot yourself and shift back into cat you will get 20% more healing. You can also switch to a healing weapon in combat if you know you are going to heal. So a very obtainable "Rod of Blazing Light" can increase your healing by 185 without gems and without enchants. Essentially you could heal about half as well as a resto druid. I am sure glad I didn't pick rogue.

If you're feral dps in a raid, say Naxx, the reality is that you'll either inevitably or inadvertently take damage, mostly from AoE and/or ticking debuffs in confrontations with bosses such as Grobbulus, Loatheb and Sapphiron (to name a few).
I mean, I'm usually stuck with an extra point in feral that I have to spend somewhere to access the Rend&Tear tier of my talent tree. Most people put it in Feral Charge, but I don't see the worth of it in instances or raiding, so I'd rather put it in Nurturing instinct because I find (in most raid situations) that a 10% healing-received bonus is often more tide-turning than having the ability to leap behind your opponent every 30 seconds.

Yes, I agree, DPS aren't supposed to take any direct damage from bosses, but damage in-and-of-itself is quite unavoidable as far as I'm concerned, making this talent more useful in raids than LOLFeralCharge. Not to mention u get moar heelz! :O

I wouldn't argue the bit about the 20% being only for the cat form. However, Frenzied Regeneration is a healing spell. The first half of the description doesn't apply to cat form since Cat form doesn't have any healing spells, if you get my meaning.

This talent is still interesting because most druid heals are HoTs. That means in PvP, if you stack heals on yourself, then change back into cat form, it would definately be quite useful (normal heal+70% agi+20% total). Of course, it is quite improbable to stack everything because by the time you're done casting, the other HoTs are done ticking. Also, you probably will be dead by then (assuming you started healing at <40%hp), especially in PvP.

Healing is still next to pointless in feral with 2 points in this. a healing touch on myself does 5-10% of my hp which is by no means a life saver

An absolute MUST get for leveling, dungeoning, raiding and PvPing. On my 74 kitty it makes it so when i pop a Rejuv + Regrowth, at the end of the Rejuv HoT ive been healed for 50% of my hp!

As a Tank/DPS hybrid druid http://www.wowhead.com/talent#0ZfMGc0urzrfzMcz:qMzV0zmzM] I actually value one point in this more then Feral Charge.
As a hybrid tank I'm always switching to cat during tank swap fights and this makes me easier to heal. Also this makes tranquility very powerful and worth using to help out on aoe dmg phases.
I'm sure many will disagree but I have faerie fire for ranged pulling, Stealth for getting close to a boss before a pull. Sprint if i need to reach something fast and stampeding roar if I have to charge in for a melle pull.

Note: when you want to nuke something from range (for example a flying enemy), NEVER use Moonfire. It does arcane damage and is unaffected by this, and is a waste of GCD. Just spam Wrath

This really needs to be changed to simply give Intellect instead of spell power.

Since intellect no longer affects your mana pool, and only affects spell power and spell crit (just like agility gives attack power and attack crit), it makes no sense for this passive to still be like that...
