Танк пулит и набирает "агро", снижаем уровень здоровья босса до единицы.
Все у кого есть способности наносить урон Льдом, с самого начала боя используют их (в основном это Маги и Рыцари Смерти), тут важен не сам урон, а количество атак льдом. Нужно нанести 30 ударов льдом, чтобы босс заморозился.
После заморозки все дружно налетаем на босса и тут тоже играет не качество, а количество ударов, чтобы его разбить.

На 3ей стадии, когда он замерз, все бьют его ФИЗИЧЕСКОЙ атакой. Т.е .все кастеры и т.п. пинают его ножами, саблями, палками... вобщем кто чем может

Фрост атаки и Войско мёртвых делают своё дело.

Дк фрост 85. В процессе боя замерзал он раз 5, бил его, войско юзал - он повисит в оковах и снова ползет на меня с 1 хп(( возился с ним минут 10 - дамаг у него небольшой, поэтому отхиливался сам, но так можно до бесконечности....Войско к сожалению юзал 1 раз из-за 8мин кд. Может я 1-ый дк, который не убил его соло?))

Кто-нибудь убивал его варом после последнего нерфа? Довожу его до стадии заморозки, он застывает - Вихрь клинков, сливаю всю рагу на удары и все равно не хватает, пишет, что начинает раскалываться и... Снова то же самое 1хп и по новой.

Убит соло энхом. Сливаем до 1 хп, на обе пушки чарим Неистовство ветра, замораживаем Ледяным шоком до 3 стадии заморозки, кидаем еще 2 Ледяных шока, зовем волков и Элементаля земли, сдаем Героизм, кидаем Ледяной шок, чтобы заморозить, ну и юзаем Высвобождение стихий.

Причем убил без Героизма, но под триней на хаст. Удачки :)

Убил рогой только что! Мини-пособие для любого класса, НЕ имеющего атак льдом:

- Доводим до 1хп (естественно)
- Переодеваем пушки на любую другую с предварительно зачаренным "Смертельный мороз"
- Бьем простыми атаками, оставляем бурст-кд под нужную фазу
- Сливаем весь бурст, можно переодеть пушку на более мощную (макрос в помощь) и остаемся довольны :)

P.s. мне хватило Выброса Адреналина и Теневых клинков (чаренные Клыки отца, не переодевал)... Выпал с 1 раза.

Убил Армсом. Зачарил на двуруч Смертельный мороз. По рекаунту за бой прокнуло 48 раз Смертельный лед. Нанесло всего 1850 урона (из почти 4 млн.), но для заморозки этого оказалось достаточно.

Соло БМ хантом с химерой. Ставим на макрос ее Дыхание ледяной бури, замораживаем, и после заморозки юзаем Звериный натиск и http://www.wowhead.com/spell=120697. Босс умер сразу, выпал пет http://www.wowhead.com/item=93039. Всем удачи в фарме босса:)

Убила 90м паладином.
Геморно.

В итоге победный вариант двуручкой до 1го хп. Дальше мейса со скоростью 1.6 с энчем Смертельный Мороз. Как только встал в трапу Зелье Быстроты и мужика.

90м шаманом элемом.
Легко.

До 1го хп под кд, которые не увеличивают хасту. Мейса с энчем. На пушку чары льда. Потом гера, пот, покорение стихий.

Пета нет.

После обновления 5.1 боса стало проще убить соло для любых классов. Теперь для заморозки требуется нанести меньше ударов льдом и меньше ударов чтобы его разбить.

Для того, чтобы заморозить моба вам очень поможет продавец Военный кузнец Сигфинна в грозовой гряде, который продает простые оружия с уроном льда за каждый удар, что как раз нам и нужно. В налии имеется только Бруннхильдарский лук, Бруннхильдарский гигантский топор и Бруннхильдарский гарпун.
Для тех классов, которые не могут носить эти виды оружия, могут использовать чант Смертельный мороз либо Масло льда.

И для успешного разбивания уже замороженного боса лучше использовать дополнительных петов/прислужников и одеть быстрое оружие с большой скоростью атаки.
В качестве петов можно использовать любые трини, призывающие адов.

Наиболее полезные Набатный колокол рода Баровых(задание до Катаклизма); Колокольчик для вызова слуг Барова (задание до Пандарии); Крошечная маска вуду(дроп до Катаклизма) либо его аналог Миниатюрная вудуистская маска, который можно выбить и сейчас, но шанс выпадения 1%.

Для тех, у кого нету аксессуаров, прзиывающих трех адов, могут испольовать на призыв одиночных, коих очень много. Например: Ослабшая хватка Йогг-Сарона (Йогг-Сарон10+0) или Безжизненное щупальце К'Туна (К'Тун).

Варлоки могут убивать без лишних выкрутасов, просто взяв в талантах Месть Архимонда . Пассивный дамаг (и вероятно активный тоже) от него здесь считается как фрост-файр.

Сегодня убили его в 2 шп, на ласт фазе с 1 хп били Пронзанием разума после того как боса замораживался я бил пвпкинжалом и второй шп вандом.
За две заморозки он раскололся и убили, возможно и за одну реально т.к. немного тупили :)
Ходил на него соло на 5.0.5 никаких признаков чтобы он замораживался от одного шп небыло. Так что либо фазу упростили и теперь его можно траить с хастой и талантом Придание сил, либо нужно как минимум 2 шп =)

Как убить магом:
В наличии : Фрост маг (можно любой спек), любое быстрое оружие (у меня был вот такой кинжал), Еда на ловкость.
Тактика: Опускаем до 1 хп. Меняем оружие на более быстрое (можно одеть перед боем). Замораживаем Ледяным копьём. Сдаём БЛ.

P.S.: Так же я вызывал Тыквенных солдат из Тесака Всадника, но они к сожалению не имеют физических атак.
У меня босс умер в тот же момент, как разморозился.

Расскажу свою тактику:

я паладин, использовал Бруннхильдарский гарпун для замораживания и для большей скорости атаки Статуэтка цийлиня, Ослоп из быстростали и Вок Стального Брюха

Сначала довел босса до 1 ХП, затем вооружился Бруннхильдарский гарпун. После того как босс замерз надел Ослоп из быстростали и активировал все тринкки и абилки. 3 секунды и босс мертв.

Жезлы действительно не замораживают, те которые с уроном от магии льда. У нас на сервере масло льда стоит около 500г. Есть вариант для экономных, убивал локом (разрушение). На вот, к примеру такой кинжалБезупречный чародейский клинок накладывал вот эту чарку Сила стихий Замораживается и убивается. Незабываем ставить лайки.

Для кастеров, у кого нет ни колокольчиков, ни масок вуду, ни цийлиней, ни щупалец - возможно у вас осталась Жетон толбарадского пехотинца, либо можете купить её (по райней мере у меня баджи с тол барада остались). Убил ШП с этой тринькой, исчадием и топором 1,60

Магом снес фул хп обычными фаер спелами , потом ударил по боссу 30 раз лансой таская его чтобы замерз он без спама луж которые замедляют скорость атаки на 30 проц потом
выпил настойку кафы и дал геру вызвал с тринки стражника тол батара и убил боса дагером которым долбал в мили .

У нас смертельный мороз стоит дороговато, до пары тысяч голды доходит, а вот сила стихий, - копейки, 10-20 голды.
Но так же прекрасно работает, так как под стихиями, судя по англ. ком., подразумевается комплексный урон сил огня, природы, и льда.
Проверил, - убил за пару минут.

Для варлоков 90+лвла(любой спек):
Берем кинжал/сворд(одноручный = выше скорость ударов в мили), зачаровываем или Масло льда или Смертельный мороз или Чары для оружия - сила стихий
Призываем войда усиленного, берем талант Родство душ
Ставим танчить петом, сами со спины(чтобы меньше промахов)
После 20 ударов фрост школой(отслеживайте в скаде/рекаунте) босс заморозится и нужно быстро нанести 30 мили ударов - призываем инфернала, сами продолжаем бить с руки

Кроме того, в игре есть оружие, которое периодически наносит урон магией льда.
Самый простой вариант - купить вот у этого перса Тантальдис Снегоблеск ножик Искрящийся кинжал для Альянса, Ледовый шип для Орды за 170 хонора.
Ребята! Проверил нож для Альянса - не работает! Что это за бред вообще? Зачарка "Сила Стихий - работает, а нож с тем же заклинанием - нет.

Не сразу понял, что требуется. Написано много, а суть уловил не сразу. Нужно по замороженному мобу в глыбе льда нанести 30 ударов. Так я понял. Так что пет очень поможет, ну а войско мертвых снесло его за 2 секунды.

Наиприятнейшая тактика для войнов(может и для других классов:))) без призыва всяких там "помощников":
1)Доведите босса до 1 хп.
2)Возьмите любое оружие с ледяным эффектом , дождитесь "Полной заморозки" босса.
3)Далее начинаем спамить, обычно бесполезной способностью "Бросок"(метание кинжала),у нее почти нету кд и наносит она именно тот, нужный нам физ. урон.
Этим способом убивается без проблем.

Совет для друидов. Вначале опустите его до 1 хп. Дальше если вы покупаете Бруннхильдарский гарпун не бейте в обычной форме , превратитесь в кота там скорость атаки лапами намного быстрее и из за скорости атаки оружие чаще прокает на форст дамаг и потому он будет замораживаться и убиваться в соло.

Так как охотнику в Дреноре дали Особенные боеприпасы то зарядив ледяные стрелы можно заморозить данного босса. После заморозки влить как можно больше ударов и вуаля босс мёртв.

Для элема в дреноре - юзаем ледяной шок до полного замерзания, после сдаем геру и тотем элементаля земли (от огненного толку нет). Так же советую снять оружие и бить кулаками.

Простое убийство за РЕТРИКА в 6.0.3
Нам понадобится Бруннхильдарский гигантский топор и какое нибудь очень быстрое оружие, я использовал Хрустальный дренейский клинок со скоростью 1.60.

Начинаем бой с Бруннхильдарский гигантский топор в руках и спокойно дамажим пока босс не замерзнет. С помощью Усиленные печати весь бой поддерживаем на себе Праведность Лиадрин. Когда босс замерзает резко меняем оружие на Хрустальный дренейский клинок и неистово клацаем Удар воина Света не забывая поддерживать Праведность Лиадрин.

Так же постарайтесь одеть как можно больше шмота на скорость, у меня в моём 641 пвп гире и под всеми бафами, на момент битвы с боссом, было 1.29 ск. атаки.

После того как заморозился, бил авто атакой Нож для снятия шкур из за скорости, но если верить комментариям:

Раньше требовалось нанести 50 ударов за 15 секунд. Сейчас - 30 ударов за 30 секунд.

то мне не как не успеть, ну тогда ещё использовал Колокол дровосеков рода Баровых
и того всё, Нечистотон мёртв, и шёл с целью выбить Нечистая капля, и снова да, выпала с 1-го раза.
Спасибо что за то, что сказали про заморозку, а то не знал чего не умирает.

Для хантов в Дреноре такая инструкция:

БМ вместо Ледяные боеприпасы может использовать Химера => Ледяное дыхание, но он это и раньше мог, так что написано больше для ММ и Сурвов.

В талантах берём Шквал и Ужасный зверь, нам это нужно для быстрого физдамага в финальной фазе.
В баффе Особенные боеприпасы выбираем вариант Ледяные боеприпасы.
Бьём босса автоатакой, при этом кидаем ему под днище по КД Смоляная ловушка. На 2-3 раз он заморозится.
Здесь наша задача нанести как можно больше ударов физдамагом (не ДПС, а именно число ударов), поэтому сдаём Шквал и Ужасный зверь. Этого должно хватить.

Если всё было удачно, с него спадает заморозка, он дрожит и взрывается.
Профит.

Играю палом 90-го лвл и не имею талантов 100-го уровня на скорость. Решил заморочиться над убийством и случайно нашёл дробящее со скоростью 1.6 Вычурный кровошмяк Гаргтока в награду за цепочку "Горнило Крови" в Сумеречном нагорье. Это лучше Ножа для снятия шкур, т.к. он не считается оружием ближнего боя и с ним нельзя применять Удар воина света для физдамага. Сюда так и просятся чары Силы стихий, чтобы вообще не пришлось менять оружие после заморозки)

В качестве аксессуара я выбрал Защита Древобрюхов и потратил на его получение не больше часа на квестах/перьях, заодно получил превознесение у Древобрюхов) По логам боя Прародитель бьет не только молнией, но также и наносит физурон.

С этими двумя вещами Нечистотон распался с первой попытки.

Возможно, быстрее, но уж точно без затрат сил и бесплатно проще всего выбить вот такой аксессуар Увеличительное стекло Мартара, я получил его с 5-й попытки и в следующий раз хочу попробовать уже с ним) Туповатый Мартар ресается каждые 6 минут в Нефритовом лесу (56.33) и бродит по окрестностям, можно ставить таймер и поджидать его после убийства на нужном месте)

Шаман элем, 100 уровень. - раза с 30-го Нечистотон заморозился, я включил земляного элементаля и барабаны войны, бил кулаками автоударом. Победил. Капля (из-за чего и пошел) не выпала. Всем удачи!

Для магов(и не только), мой мини гайд как убить эту скотину.
Итак все приколы типа кулаков/мечей/кинжалов не сработали.

Поэтому берем и покупаем Палка с двигателем внутреннего сгорания, купить можно у Гух.

Это самое быстрое оружие в игре! 1 удар в секунду. Берем палку, фризим ледяной стрелой или любым другим ледяным способом, нажимаем БЛ. И босс падает.

Не забудьте вывести автоатаку на панель и включить её перед боем.

Друид-ферал.

Все оказалось довольно просто. Купил Чары для оружия - сила стихий, наложил на кинжал с аука. До последнего думал, что что-то пойдет не так, но все прошло гладко: Нечистотон сперва окрасился в синий цвет, затем замерз, я обратился в Облик кошки и постарался нанести максимум ударов. Он умер и подарил мне Нечистая капля.

Добыл сегодня магом 90го уровня пета. Если ты маг - заморозить проблем нет, а вот разбить сложно.
Заморозил, одел нож наследственный с 1,7 скоростью (все это пришло в голову во время фарма, я уже просто забыл про этого босса), включил "стылая кровь" и "искажение времени" и просто разбил его автоатакой.

Если на фамильку у вас нет ресурсов на данный момент, купите на ауке за пару голд любой нож с как можно меньшей задержкой между атаками (а может и у обычного вендора есть быстрый, я не смотрел).

Если вы лок, например, и заморозить его нечем, на нож придется наложить "Сила стихий", тогда замораживать и убивать будете все той же автоатакой.

Надеюсь, помог какому-нибудь кастеру :)

Убил варлоком 100лвл(афли/дестро).
1)Берем на ауке любой одноручный меч/кинжал с наиболее высокой скоростью (я нашел максимум 1.60).Я бил вот этим - Рунический меч ВАЖНО! Илвл оружия должен быть меньше 600;
2)Чарим купленное оружие Формула чар для оружия - смертельный мороз
3)Летим, бежим до Нечистотрона с локовской собакой на привязи и зачаренной оружкой в руке;
4)Пулим Нечистотона, спускаем его до 1%, прекращаем кастовать и начинаем тыкать его автоатакой и грызть собакой;
5)Тыкать придется пару-тройку минут, посему идем курить/заваривать чай;
6)Смотрим в чат и на босса:
- Нечистотон замедляется!
- Нечистотон замораживается!
- Нечистотон застывает!
7)После этого оповещения вызываем инфернала и дотыкиваем босса втроем: вы, инфернал и псина. Сигнал о том, что все проходит как надо, будут оповещения:
- Нечистотон начинает раскалываться!
- Нечистотон еле держится!
8)Нечистотон убит, вы молодец.

Если вам лень выбивать специальные тринки, можете взять на АХ Дракончик из призрачного железа.
Не знаю, как на счет других классов, но своим дк с двумя одноручными со второй попытки запинала босса с помощью именно дракончика.

В соло магом без всяких вспомогательных предметов.
Используем специализацию "Лед". Берем любой кинжал со скоростью 1.60 (на аукционе полно за копейки). Я использую Нож-резак. Снимаем с босса здоровье. Замораживаем. Сразу используем Искажение времени и Стылая кровь. Профит.

у фростДК в легионе забрали войско, а у анхоли забрали озноб. в анхоли убить не получится без всяких тринек, а вот фростом вышло. стараемся просто как можно быстрее бить...и стараться бить без простоев.

Для заморозки босса помогла игрушка - Эндотермический бластер, игрушка давалась за зимний покров 2017 года. Входим в бой, доводим до 1хп юзаем игрушку и поливаем босса снегом, затем отменяем действие игрушки в баффах игрока и бьем босса физическим уроном. КД игрушки-30мин, поэтому лучше запинать босса с первого раза. Тем не менее, для классов у которых нет магии льда это выход.

Для фрост-магов:

Меняем посох на нож для снятия шкур, пета не вызываем, замораживаем чем угодно и как только он замерз, сразу сдаем искажение времени+стылая кровь. Как раз успевается нанести 30 ударов за 30 сек.

Решила в связи с новой лошадкой зачистить заодно анкираж целиком, даже палку себе взяла льдом бьющую чтоб и слизняка этого цепануть..Палка как раз с прежних времен осталась, ею же и била его раньше..Ага..Щщщазз..Бью автоатакой ледяной палкой минут 10..Хоть бы хны..Не морозится и все..Не знаю глюк это или нет, но на момент 21 сентября 2017 - Твердый жезл льда с печатью выносливости оказался совершенно бесполезен :С

Убил хантом, спасибо Rezdoom. Купил тыкалку 2.60 скорость, сила стихий, маленько побил автоатакой, заморозился за минуту-две. Сразу после заморозки взял лук, прожал шквал - готово.

Стоит отметить, что помимо Эндотермического бластера Эндотермический бластер, упомянутого ранее, можно так же использовать Гейзерное ружье Шадо-пан Гейзерное ружье Шадо-Пан (спасибо Eng комментам) у игрушек одинаковый эффект по сути, просто ружье до сих пор можно получить за прыжки по гейзерам перед Тортосом, а вот будет ли в этом году на праздник Эндотермический бластер, ещё не факт, да и сколько до него пройдёт КД, тоже печаль.) Так что у кого нету бластера, можно воспользоваться ружьём и наоборот.)

На днях убила Нечистотона магом соло без дополнительных петов. Спек Лед.

2) Весь шмот на скорость, какой был в сумке (набежало под 36%)

4) Еда на скорость

Всем привет. На дворе дополнение Легион и поэтому, чтоб убить дк фростом в соло, для поднятия скорости при автоатаках, вкачайте талант 100 - "Алчущее руническое оружие"(талант заменяет усиление рунического оружия). Механика боя следующая, замораживаем босса (воющий ветер, ледяной удар, беспощадность зимы) и когда босс становится синим и замерзает, юзаем "Алчущее руническое оружие". Прошел босса именно так, спонтанно и не залезая на форумы, повезло что с собой был фолиант безмятежного разума, чтоб поменять талант для скорости. Всем удачи!

Странное дело, во фросте с одноручками ударов не хватило несмотря на прожатую триню на скорость, а анхоликом с гравировкой на лёд на медленном двуруче случайно убил даже тогда, когда и прожиматься-то не планировал. Неужели у одного вурдалака настолько большая скорость атаки?
Фрост магу даже с вещами на скорость и дыханием ветра на 1.8 кинжале не хватает скорости атаки под БЛом, хотя по ощущениям скорость атаки под всеми баффами больше одного удара в секунду, но как проверить я не знаю - соответствующего тултипа в характеристиках персонажа к сожалению больше нет.
P.S. Для тех, кто не может найти фрост урон анхоликом напоминаю про Руна режущего льда.

Боса била просто авто атаками, когда в чате появилось "Нечистотон застывает!", прожала барабаны, две тринки и серафим, дальше продолжила бить авто атаками.

Dragonflight. В Ониксовое колечко вставил Камень замерзающего льда и набивал 30 хитов от льда (следил через details). Если верить описанию, то хиты прокают не просто от авто-атак, а именно от спелов.

С новым патчем у нас открылась локация Запретный край. Нам по квестам дается новое кольцо Ониксовое колечко. В него можно поставить разные изначальные камни. Камень замерзающего льда имеет урон от магии льда (улучшение камня не влияет на количество проков). Также рекомендую вставлять камень сразу, тк поменять местами камни можно только с помощью ювелирного набора, который располагается в Деревне Моркутов.

Viscidus is the 5th boss in the Ahn'Qiraj instance and is optional, which means you can go past his lair and proceed to the rest of the instance without having to fight him. He requires a decent amount of Nature Resistance as well as a considerable amount of mages (you'll understand if you read the tactics).

Melees for around 1000 on a NR-geared tank. Hits very fast at first, but progressively slows down.
Takes 50% reduced damage from all attacks.
Poison Shock: AoE Nature attack for ~1200 Nature damage every 10 seconds or so. Posion Shock has a radius of 15 yards, so be very careful to stay away when not trying to shatter him once frozen.
Poison Volley: AoE spell cast every 10 seconds that hits for ~1500 resistable Nature damage on hit and will apply a dispellable DoT that does ~500 Nature damage every 2 second for 10 seconds. Similar to Lord Kri and Princess Huhuran. This volley ignores LoS and has a range of 100 yards, therefore it is very difficult to avoid it. Nature Resist gear can greatly mitigate the direct damage, but the DoT is unresistable and therefore highly lethal. Poison curing must be set up for the raid so that no one is hit by more than one tick of the DoT.
Toxin Clouds: These are spewed out every 30 - 40 seconds. The cloud hits anyone inside it with ~1500 unresistable damage every 2 seconds and slows movement speed by 40%. Similar to Lord Kri's death cloud. A single bolt will predate the Toxin Cloud (it is the only time Viscidus spits on a single target), so move away asap from the landing point of that single bolt. The clouds look fairly small, but their damage radius is larger than their graphic so beware!
The Three Frost Stages: Viscidus must be slowed by Frost attacks in order to defeat him. Frostbolt, Frost Shock, and Frost wands count toward this objective. The strength of the Frost attack doesn't matter, only the number of hits, so use the fastest Frost abilities possible. (Rank 1 Frostbolt and fast Frost wands)

"Viscidus begins to slow." - Movement and attack speed reduced by 15%.
"Viscidus begins to freeze." - Movement and attack speed reduced by 30%.
"Viscidus is frozen solid." - Movement and attacks cease completely. At this point the raid must switch to melee attacks to shatter him.

The Three Melee Stages: Once Viscidus is frozen he must be shattered. This needs to happen very quickly or he will thaw out and continue attacking the raid.

"Viscidus begins to crack." - Continue melee attacks.
"Viscidus looks ready to shatter." - Continue melee attacks.
"Viscidus explodes." - Viscidus shatters into multiple small "Globs of Viscidus" in a circle around the room. These Globs will begin to move towards the center of the room, slow at first, but continuously and steadily gathering speed. Once they reach the center, Viscidus will be reformed.

Globs of Viscidus:

Every time Viscidus is shattered, he splits into 1-20 Globs of Viscidus - each one representing 5% of his total HP. If he is below 5% when shattered, he will die. Each glob takes 10-15k damage to kill.
Globs must be assist trained to death, as DPSing one has no effect unless it is killed. Globs cannot be slowed or stunned so you must DPS fast and hard.

Transition Agro

Viscidus has a nasty tendency to aggro someone right as he reforms and run off after them. Since he is not chilled at all at this point, and he is untauntable, it is very difficult for the MT to catch up and get him back. Unless he is picked up and tanked very quickly, he will likely run around killing healers until the raid wipes. There are various theories as to what makes this happen, but it sometimes seems as mysterious as Onyxia's Deep Breath.
Some people say that DPSing blobs without killing them (especially with AoEs and Multishot) causes transition agro. This seems rather unlikely, as healers get transition agro as often as DPSers.
Some people say that players standing too far away from Viscidus will pull agro. In any case, it is not a good idea to run out of the room too early after a transition; if he agros someone out of the room he will instantly reset to 100%.

Some people say that Viscidus has a limited-radius agro wipe, or an agro wipe on a limited number of the closest players, and that the players standing further away from him should not do any healing or curing for 5 seconds during each transition.

deally, all raid should drink a NR potion 2 minutes before starting, so the cooldown fades. Then, refresh NR potion on every chance. Aim for enough dps to kill your assigned Glob, and then balance stamina with NR equipment. Low stats due to wearing green NR armor may not be the best to stand NR damage. If your raid uses CT_RaidAssist, the raid leader can check the NR resistance, and the number of NR potions on each member. Once you master the encounter, you may try drinking a pot only when you are low on hp.

Beware of the single bolt: it announces the landing point of a toxin cloud, which drains health real fast. There is an addon called Viscidus Raid Warning to whisper people suffering Toxin Cloud.

Viscidus is vulnerable to Frost (spells/abilities and Frost damage), therefore mages are at a premium for this fight. Warlocks equipped with a Frost damage wand (usually 1.5 sec) will be nearly as effective as a mage (1 sec casting on rank 1 frostbolt with improved frostbolt still faces the 1.5 sec universal cooldown).

The raid is required to get as many frost attacks into Viscidus as possible so that he will go through his several emotes and freeze. After he is frozen, a number of melee attacks must be done to shatter him into 20 or so small blobs. The raid must then kill these blobs in order to reduce Viscidus' health.

The triggering for his normal state into frozen seems to be a hitcounter of ~200 Frost based attacks/spells/abilities.

The triggering for him to shatter once frozen seems to be a hitcounter of ~75 (in 1.12) melee hits, regardless of damage. Caster DPS should melee too.

All stages have a 15 second time-limit, so if you fail to reach the next stage after that he reverts to his previous one. Time is of the essence. Once people start dying, the fight goes down hill. Killing Viscidus should take around 4 freezing phases to accomplish. Therefore, longevity is the key along with poison cleansing abilities. Mages and Druids are key to this encounter. Shamans make the fight relatively easier for the Horde. There might be changes in 1.11 or future patches allowing weapons with +X-Y frost damage to count as (part of) the number of attacks needed. This would mean that Hurricane and other weapons would be very useful.

Melee positioning

Most guilds keep their melee players away from Viscidus so that they don't take poison damage. They have to stay at least 100 yards away to avoid damage. This can be accomplished either by standing on the staircase outside Visc's room or by standing inside Visc's room far off to one side. The difficulty with this strat is that meleers will take one or two poison volleys while running in and out, and someone has to be in range to depoison them. However, with proper depoisoning, meleers takes much less damage and may not even need to wear full NR.

The alternative is to have high-NR melee players in melee range of Viscidus, DPSing him at all times. This does a minimal amount of damage to Viscidus, but it does hurt him a bit. The advantage is that, with players moving around less, it is far easier to keep in range of shaman totems (for Horde) and of your Druids for depoison. The tradeoff is that you take more direct Poison damage (which is resistable), but hopefully you take less DoT damage (not resistable). You can also make use of Frost Oil to help freeze Viscidus.

For groups running it in TBC and beyond, let it be known you cant kill him unless you shatter him, we had were 15 manning it and had 2 shaman and a mage and after him being at 1% for about 5 minutes we eventually died/reset since he never once shattered. Took forever getting him to there and I would have thought we would get at least one shatter but I geuss you need a whole lot more hits then we were able to put out.

My group has been farming him for four weeks straight now, with a raid comprised of 10-20 level 80 players, a minority of whom had experienced AQ40 at 60.

His melee and poison damage alike are beyond marginal. Prior to downing him with a proper raid, my prot pally and a holy pally were able to bring him to zero health over the course of an hour, but unable to kill him due to insufficient melee attacks.

There is no timer on the freezing effect - however long it takes to deal sufficient frost attacks to freeze him makes absolutely no difference. Nor does the strength of the frost attacks matter; only the number. Absolutely any source of frost damage will trigger the freezing effect, whether a mage's Frostbolt, a hunter's Freezing trap, a shaman's Frost Shock, or a deathknight's Icy Touch. I myself use my old Frostguard to proc the freezing effect.

However, the shattering effect, which must be applied by melee attacks after Viscidus is frozen, is timed, and players have only a very short window in which to shatter him.

We have found it best to have all raid members - including casters and healers - close to melee range and wail on the boss when he freezes. Since most staves have a slow swing speed, we ask our staff users to remove their weapons when engaging the boss. At this point a shaman pops Heroism and all deathknights use Army of the Dead for additional melee attacks. A 15 man raid should easily have enough melee swings to shatter Viscidus.

With few sources of frost damage and level 80 DPS, Viscidus is invariably at zero HP when he is finally shattered. We have never seen him split and merge; he always has died instantly when shattered.

This last week, he dropped the Scarab Brooch.

Frost wands don't seem to work as of this writing. While slumming through AQ40 for rep, with the only sources of frost damage being me (resto shaman) and a holy priest with a frost wand, Viscidus didn't shatter until hit with exactly 200 frost attacks from me - 75 frost shocks and 125 frostbrand attacks exactly. The holy priest was wanding most of the fight and hit him 408 times.

This fight is pretty strange.

Viscidus does little damage. When you get him to 1 health his health stops lowering. Like I said he does little damage, in fact my group was able to hold him for about 10 minutes as I checked how to defeat him :). Anyway, when he gets to one health you must start using frost moves (Mages and Death Knights are important to this fight because they are the only classes that have frost spells). The chat log will display a message saying "Viscidus begins to slow", continue with frost. Next it says "Viscidus is freezing up", continue. Finally it will say "Viscidus is frozen solid!" (You will know this because.... well he will be in a giant frozen block of ice). When this happens stop using frost attacks. Soon more messages will appear. "Viscidus begins to crack" keep going, "Viscidus is ready to shatter", continue, "Viscidus Explodes!" When this happens Viscidus well... explodes. If he is at 1 health he will die, if not he will be seperated into little ozzes which will then reform back into Viscidus and the whole process must be repeated. So in this fight my groups prefer to ignore using frost moves a lot until he is at 1 health.

This boss is an homage to the old horror/sci-fi film "The Blob", in which a nearly-invincible slime monster from outer space was only weak to freezing temperatures. And fire extinguishers.

Viscidus can be duo'd; an enh shammy and a Surv specced hunter can manage it.

Essentially, the shaman uses dual Frostbrand weapon and frost shocks as the cooldown comes up. Eventually, he will get close to freezing. At this point, you may want to use Windfury on one or both of your weapons, and push him into being frozen using Frost Shock.

Once he freezes, the shaman pops Bloodlust or Heroism, and the Survival hunter pops a snake trap with Improved Traps or Trap Mastery or whatever it's called - the 14 snakes, the hunter's melee (dual wielding, not with a 2h) and the enh shammy's attacks under the haste effect are more than enough melee hits to shatter him. By the time he's ready to freeze, he's usually down to 1 HP anyway.

Healing is very simple, too. Healing Stream totem + chain heals from Maelstrom weapon are enough to keep you both going without any effort, and his poison is a joke at L80.

Just killed him in a full clear run, and if he doesn't get frozen by the time he hits 1 hit point, he still takes damage, but he doesn't die until you freeze then shatter him.

I tried doing this with 2 people. Just me and my friend. We didn't know the fight so we had him at 1 health and he wouldn't die. Then my friend remembered it but we didn't do enough damage. Anyway, the point is that it is most likely impossible to do this with 2 people. The room was filled with the poisonous slime things as well.

biggest waste of time ever trying to solo this as a blood dk. Lost track of how many times i hit with frost attacks, had at 1hp and room filled with the 1500 dmg gas/slime... I ran out of the room and hearthed, took about 8 minutes to get him to 1hp

This is my experience trying to solo him on an 85 DK, avg ilvl ~350.

First try: I went in as blood spec, just testing it, not having much of a clue how it was gonna work. It took almost 20 minutes of icy touch spam, to get him to "freeze solid", and when it did I was not ready and didn't stand a chance at shattering him in time.

Second try: Changed to my 2H frost spec, and enchanted my weapon with Razorice. Instead of 20 minutes, it now only takes a couple of minutes to freeze him, with howling blasts, frost strikes, and most important razorice procs. It takes about 20-25 seconds from second freeze phase to the last one, and in this phase I summoned my army of the dead. With this I was able to get him to second shatter phase, but didn't quite make it. I decided to reset and wait for army cooldown for one last try.

Third try: Difference now was that I had my regular ghoul up at same time as the army, but I still didn't make it. I just doesn't seem possible, but also not far away.

I think dual wielding two fast weapons and it might happen, but not sure about that even. And even if you do manage to shatter him, the question is how many of the globs you can kill before he merges. I'm guessing you won't be able to get them all. And for every merge, you'd have to wait another 10 minutes for army cooldown.

I'm calling it plausible, but not likely without a TON of effort.

Edit: Seems it has been done solo by a lvl 80 DK, found a video. If you get him to 1 hp, he'll die when you manage to shatter him apparantely. So it's just gonna be about getting him down there, and then manage a shatter and you're home free. So get 2 super fast weapons, and maybe some haste potions or similar, and I'm sure he'll go down.

Edit2: I went back and tried while dual wielding 1.4 one-handers. Still didn't make it.

So, when people say something is hard I take it as an invitation. I'm a feral druid, with no frost abilities. But how cool would it be if I could pull this off! So, I went and got a Brunnhildar Harpoon, and I put Deathfrost and Frost oil on it.

This worked quite well to freeze him. Staying mostly in bear form, I froze him 4 times before he got to 1HP, which sounds similar to what other classes with actual frost abilities are reporting. But I could not shatter him.

My strategy was to stay bear as he "began to slow" and as he "began to freeze", but shift cat and have savage roar up before he actually froze solid (my gear and spec is full Kitty DPS). I also tried to time it so I got Savage roar, but still had maxed combo points as he froze to immediately hit him with Rip, popped all cooldowns, go behind him and go nuts ... but it was never enough.

We duo'd it as 2 hunters, 1 BM and 1 MM. We got him down to 1hp like any other boss. Then switched to Brunnhildar bows to freeze him, then 3 snake traps (due to MM Readiness) plus the two pets (spirit beast and cat if it matters), and melee with 1.3attack speed daggers, to shatter and kill him. So we didn't need to shatter him more than once.

Verified: (Out of curiosity) A priest's Shadowfrost damage from Mind Spike counts as a frost effect toward the 200 count.

As everyone else has stated, it doesn't do any good unless you can melee a minimum of 5 hits per second for 15 seconds to reach your 75 hit shatter, but it's at least possible to completely freeze him using this method.

There are alot of good tips on how to take this boss down now at lvl85. DK and Hunter can apparently solo him. But other classes have a hard time, and have to bring friends. I will sum up some methods that are useful here;

All classes
-First of all, get a fast 1-hander(or two 1-handers if your class supports it).
-Зелье быстроты is also good to have to speed up those melee attacks(you cant use it together with , so use the potion).
-If you have no classes with frostspells in the group, you need Бруннхильдарский гарпун, Бруннхильдарский гигантский топор, Бруннхильдарский лук, a weapon enchanted with Чары для оружия - смертельный мороз, or a weapon encoated with Масло льда.
-Wand with frost damage does NOT count as a frost spell.

- should also count as a melee strike, if I remember correctly from back when training weapon skills were possible.

DK
-Войско мертвых is 8 ghouls attacking with melee, including your regular ghoul and you, thats an army of 10 melee. To obtain 75 melee hits within 15secs, you need to hit 5 times per second, or each of an army of 10 need to hit 1 time every 2 seconds. I dont know how fast the ghouls attack speed are, but you should use 1-handers if you plan to solo it.

At ~100 frost spell hits, the boss will emote once and change color slightly, at ~150 hits you will get a second emote, at ~200 hits he will be frozen and you will clearly see a frost trap-like thing around him. When he is frozen, you need to hit him ~75 times with melee attacks. All these attacks can do 1 dmg, the amount of damage doesnt count, only number of hits. (there is a mechanic where he will shatter into smaller adds if he become frozen above 20% hp, but as a lvl85 dps, you shouldn't have to worry about that)

Update 5.1 patch(inc 29th of November hotfix)
-He gets frozen after 20 frost hits, down from 200.
-To shatter him while frozen, you now need to hit him 30 times within 30 seconds, down from 75 hits within 15 seconds.
They are obviously letting people solo him now to farm for the new pet drop.

The most difficult part of this fight today is meleeing him before he unfreezes. Because characters are more powerful, groups tend to be smaller, leading to fewer available attacks. For this reason it is essential that everybody pay attention when it's time to shatter Viscidus, and be ready to start whacking on him the very second he is frozen solid. Be in position before this happens. The green gas slows your attacks, meaning move him so you're not standing on it when he is frozen. And be sure to pop your cooldowns, guardians, etc. Even the healers and casters should be attacking. Favor fast, spamable abilities over efficiency and damage. There is a very short window to do this in.

Just duo'd him as a hunter and a DK, not too bad, just added the frost rune on a couple one handed weapons, hunter dual welding daggers, all our weapons with frost oil. Hunter was BM with a spirit beast for heals, just popped my ghoul and my army of the dead, hunter meleed and trapped...with my lifebloom popped we managed. You have to time it right or wait 10 minutes for the army of the dead cds...

For those that like to "SOLO" old school raids still (level 60) in the true sense of doing it by themselves; and are mele DPS. This item would be useful to those classes that cannot cast frost spells when combating this boss: No'Kaled, the Elements of Death.

Apparently Froststorm Breath from a Chimaera pet does not count as frost damage when fighting Viscidus in AQ40. No hunter soloing here.

Soloed as lvl85 frost dk, nuked Viscidus to 1hp, waited for the emote that he starts to slow, popped army and pet ghoul, empower rune weapon and spammed Howling Blast and Frost Strike. Boss died with mere second to spare before breaking ice. Felt like a boss since this kill earned me also Brood of Nozdormu exalted achievement :) So deffinetly soloable (if you know how to)

The definitive amount of physical hits to shatter the boss is 150.
These physical hits can be melee auto attacks, pet hits, or special attacks that deal physical damage (I don't know about ranged attacks).

At 50 hits, the first emote will appear: "Viscidus begins to crack!"
At 100 hits, the second emote will appear: "Viscidus looks ready to shatter!"
At 150 hits, Viscidus will die (or explode into smaller blobs, if he wasn't low enough).

You can see the amount of hits needed in my DK video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3lU5E6miUo), where there is a hit counter in the chat frame (I originally only intended to confirm that it's more than 100 hits to shatter the boss, but it turned out so easy as a Death Knight that it resulted in an actual kill).

Anybody wanting to solo this boss without access to class specific pets is going to have a very hard time. Believe me, I've tried for days on my Rogue before giving it a shot with my DK.
The only possible way I can think of as of patch 4.3.4 would be a Troll in full haste/hit gear, the Колокольчик для вызова слуг Барова trinket, the Troll Берсерк racial ability additional to Тотем неистовства ветра and Жажда крови. Which of course requires another player, which makes it not a "real" solo kill anymore (because you need that other player, although he does nothing else but to provide the haste buffs).

You CANNOT Solo this at lvl 85 atm. you can bring him down to 1hp, but never able to solely kill it simply because you cannot do 75 melee hit with in about 5 sec by yourself. There is a report shows that 2 hunter with at least 1 readiness will be able to kill it (3 snake trap+cat pets+ 1.3 daggers). Tips: if you found out this after you pull, you can always run out and reset it like I do

I am not saying this is easy, but I just soloed it today June 12, 2012.

Took 5 tries, but as long as you have fast weapons and can summon alot of mobs at once it's doable.

(Frost DK with swords that have a 1.4 weapon speed + Army + Ghoul + haste pot for extra measure).

Yes, as someone states elswhere in this thread, the count is NOT 75, but 150.

I was super sceptical when I read this, as all sources everywhere state it is only 75. Also after watching his video twice, I didn't see any counters between the tons of numbers floating around on this custom interface. (Friendly tip: next time state where the counter is :-) ). That said massive kudo's, as he is right!

As a MM hunter 75 would be a walk in the park with two snake traps even when executed with bad timing. But 150 would be hard even with perfect timing. Two traps is 28 snakes and with pet and two fast daggers will do. Issue however is that hunters have minimum range and need to use trap launcher or walk in. I saw a YouTube video of some hunter with perfect placement, but I failed to get it right that way for about 8 times.

So I decided to do it the robotic way:

1) Get the Brunnhildar Bow
2) Get the haste battle elixer and optional some food and the WotlK 500 haste pot. (I did without.)
3) Get two fast daggers. The Dalaran 1.3 will do.
4) Create a super macro that uses all this stuff and all your other haste bufs (Lifeblood etc). So in essence a long list of /use and /cast ending with a /cast Snake Trap
5) Put it on your bar, and put readiness next to it, or make sure they are hotkey'd where you can quickly press them
6) Go to and nuke boss. I used first my better normal bow to speed up the stuff and switched when he was low health.
7) Use recount or so to count the exact number of hits of your chilled ability from the Brunnhildar Bow.
8) When you are at 199 hits/crits, stop dps, disable growl on pet (want use his focus on his special attack) and walk into minimum range.
9) Make sure you are at the absolute minimum range. Shoot and run into his center. This last shot should freeze him. Else repeat this step.
10) Press your maco, press readiness and your macro again.
11) Press kill command and raport strike when off cooldown
12) If you are a bit lucky the boss will shatter

Now, during all my years of wow I have collected a long series of trinkets with guardians. Almost all of them share cooldowns and some of them don't do melee, but in the end I notcied that the Horseman sword's Pumpkin Soldier do also melee and surprisingly the Dog Whistle from one of the bosses of Scarlet Monastery stack. So that gave me 4 extra melee adds.

Added them to the macro, but it was still close, but my 9th try was successful. Probably with practise it will go better though.

Can be soloed by a a DK. Just did it.

Frost specc. unholy presence.
Mostly Raid Finder and Valor gear. (reforged Haste as primary stat)
Dalaran sword and a Hand of Edward the Odd, both Razorice.
Potion of speed
Elixir of speed or w/e
Shard of the Crystal Heart

Got him to 1 hp, then a few secons before he froze (like 5 secs after last warning) I used the potion and summoned the ghoul and the army, and then the trinket. Im not sure if the Hand of E. proc'ed...

He did it anyhow, I had no addons to count the hits or the time so I dont have those details, but trust me, it can be done.

Just wanted to add a bit more for any hunters out there looking to do this. I followed the general strategy of what MarcusF does below, but I used macros to automate ability usage a bit, killed him on my first try using it.

Macro 1:
/petautocastoff Growl
/use 13
/castsequence reset=15 Dire Beast, Snake Trap, Arcane Shot, Lynx Rush, Readiness, Snake Trap, Dire Beast, Lynx Rush

Macro 2:
/equipset 2daggers

The second of course requires you make an equipment set named "2daggers" which equips 2 daggers, I had to do it this way since they were identical vendor bought ones, and the first requires that you have a Barov Peasant Caller (which is /use 13 for the top trinket slot).

So same strategy more or less:

1. Bring boss to 1 health.
2. Equip Brunnhildar bow, track "Chilled" in recount/skada up until 199 hits.
3. Stop shooting (at 199), walk up near the center of the bosses hitbox.
4. Spam macro. The arcane shot in the macro will push him to 200 and he will freeze.
5. Hit the second macro at some point after the arcane shot fires to switch to daggers and start meleeing.
6. Hope he explodes. (perhaps I got lucky, but again only took one try for me using this method)

Lynx rush may overlap doing this, but I didn't find it made a difference. You may want to try moving the first LR up in the sequence if you are having issues but the difference will be minor. I did not use any consumables of any sort.

I tried Murder of Crows first instead of LR but they just don't attack all that fast. Perhaps in the original beta incarnation of AMoC it would be better, but now it just applies a dot that has an animation of crows attacking that just does X damage per 1 or 2 seconds, instead of bringing down a bunch of actual "units" that would all attack separately (which plus snake trap would probably have required nothing else).

Blizzard counts for about 10 frost hits. He froze after about 20 blizzards, but I had far too little melee damage to shatter him as a mage,

The patch notes for 5.1, which can be found here, state the following:

Viscidus now requires significantly fewer hits to freeze and shatter.

Hopefully this means he will be a bit easier to solo. =)

Easily solod by 90 BM hunter with a Chimaera pet, just have it spam Froststorm Breath and then unload with barrage, stampede, lynx rush, anything with multiple attacks or multiple pets to hit it.

Solo'd this today as a druid who's normally balance. Just swapped my OS to feral, kept most of my int gear on but swapped my MH/OH for a agi staff with Elemental Force enchant. The reason you want to be feral is for the melee version of Force of Nature (Which obviously swap to that talent for this), your gear/dps/rotation doesn't mean much. When you're on Viscidus the enchant will count as frost damage and freeze him; when you get the emote "Viscidus is freezing up" or whatever (The one right before he's frozen), stop doing anything but auto attack and let your energy stay topped. After a bit your autoattacks will freeze him; as soon as this happens, blow force of nature, mangle spam, tiger's fury as soon as your energy is too low to mangle anymore, ferocious bite, mangle spam some more and he should die.

I'm a balance druid and don't have a clue how cat works and even I managed to do it, so i'm sure a better player can manage it even more easily.

PS when you use Force of Nature, try to drop it near his backside or you'll lose melee hits to the trees running to get behind.

Just did this tonight following Kokiron's method as kitty druid dps. Took a few tries, but once I read to drop the treants behind the boss, he went down easy. No speed pots or other buffs, just a Brunhilder Spear and mangle spam/tiger's fury/mangle spam. You might want to drop the treants just a hair before he actually freezes solid to make sure you get the most out of them.

with 5.1 being live now, I tried this boss immidiatly on my retri pala.
The tactics on how to do it are exactly the same. you hit him with ice damage (ANY ice damage will suffice, spells, enchants, ice effect on hit, anything.) until he's fully frozen. then , like before, you need to hit him with melee, and the damage of these melee attacks is not important, it's about the number of hits.

I opened a ticket to a gm after I couldn't seem to get him down and gm confirmed that frost effects are needed to freeze him, and melee and only melee hits can break him . the number of hits required for him to shatter are roughly 50. (the gm also noted that he has not tried to do this himself but that the number of hits required were greatly reduced to about 50, and that it should be possible to do solo..)

in the end I had to ask a friend for help (warlock with melee pet) and we got him to shatter in the nick of time. I don't yet see how I should be able to get these amount of hits alone on my pala, but I'm sure other classes like DK with army of the dead, hunter with pet etc. etc. should be able to do this maybe with the use of the right cd's and stuff at the right time.

Got Нечистая капля after killing him, I realized after 10 minutes of attacking him at 1hp, my DK attacks didn't really do anything since I'm unholy, but I did notice that Заморозка разума and do infact freeze him even though they don't deal damage. Just tried doing this with me as a Mistweaver monk plus a Frost mage, we got him to 1% really easily, but didnt get passed the second message for the 'crack'. Then I went dual wielding as a Windwalker monk, popped Xuen/Fists of Fury and Timewarp, but it just wasnt enough. (I had two axes equipped, one with 1.6 and one with 2.6 speed)

So nothing really changed for us old raid fanatics, just as before the patch, 'soloable' but only bring the right classes.

Edit after the second nerf to Viscidus : We did the same thing, and it went down easypeasy :-)

damage the boss to 1hp. then switch to 2x dagger with ilvl not higher than 164. becouse u have to use frost oil + deathfrost enchant.

pop killingspree when he frozed, then adrenalin rush and spam sinister.

p.s: also tired to kill him with regular slow weaps enchanted with elemental force. but i wasnt enought. or just i was unlucky. however this enchant makes the boss frozed also

For the Hunters

It was pretty straight forward

Go forth and purchase Бруннхильдарский лук (if you are not friendly with these giant blue women you will need to start Они забрали наших мужчин! until you get transformed into one (like the 4th or 5th quest in the chain), then go and buy the bow.)
Have Звериный натиск, Стая воронов, Ужасный зверь & off CD and good to go.
Just remember he is immune to nature damage so no need for serpent sting.
Pull Viscidus as normal using your normal bow and favourite pet. Nuke him down to 1hp (making sure not to blow the above CDs) and have fun praticing your raiding skills by keeping out of the green stuff on the ground.
At 1hp switch bows and monitor what's happening to Viscidus. At 1hp it's no longer about the damage you do, it's about the number of times you freeze him. You're going to use that bow right up until the end so at no point stop firing on him.
When Viscidus turns dark blue and is in "freezing up" stage (stages: slow > freezing up > solid) blow the above CDs making sure to pull him into the snake trap and continue shooting him with the Brunn bow. The stages happen fast so before long he will be frozen solid with your snakes pecking at him (yes they do nature damage BUT they also count as melee.)
At frozen solid stage, with your crows, beasts and your snakes all 'melee' damaging him he shatters and you haven't needed to lay a hand on him yourself because all those spells/traps have given you your melee quota to shatter him.
Another strat is laying two snake traps down right before frozen solid stage, two snake traps is also enough to shatter him.... I just like the one with all the beasts because it makes me feel all queen of the jungle like.

If he 'cracks' instead of shatters he is back to his 1hp self, just rinse-repeat the steps until you shatter him.

This method has helped me solo him on a lvl90 (in greens) and lvl89 (dungeon blues/greens) & just scrapped in on my lvl86 hunter... and I always say it but I'm not a skilled player so if the above worked for me it'll work for you.

Mages

I like being captain obvious so I'm going to say "go frost" save CDS and mirror image and frost orb till frozen solid stage, then pop them. My mirror images and orb did the trick of shattering him.

Extremely easy for a hunter to solo.

1 - Tame a Chimera pet
2 - Cast froststorm breath till he is fully frozen
3 - Throw snake trap, beastial wrath and other CD's and nuke hard
4 - repeat till dead.

90 rogue strategy: Using two 1.7 daggers plus Elemental Force, I had no luck relying on my usual abilities. Remember, it's purely about number of attacks, so when he froze I popped a haste pot + Adrenaline rush and then spammed the hell out of Shuriken Toss, whilst keeping in autoattack range. When down straight away with that strategy. No pet though :(

Hey Warriors! Viscidus is an absolute cakewalk for us. After toying around with ideas (I really wish my Crate of Kidnapped Puppies ideas would have worked), it hit me.

Here was my setup:

(2x) 1.70 Daggers, both with Сила стихий. - I just purchased a few level 88 Agility daggers, you don't need anything good at all, you just want Elemental Force to be freezing him as much as possible.

(1x) Эликсир стремительности - This is overkill. But I wanted to come in fully prepared, so I popped this on. You should be able to do fine without one.

- This is the bread and butter. At a 0.5s cast time, you can send these little bastards screaming at him by simply spamming the button, over and over.

Quick rundown:

Well, it's rather simple. Start wailing on him in melee range, just keep going nuts, your Сила стихий should be cranking on him repeatedly, with the fast daggers. His freeze sequence displays 3 messages total.

"Viscidus is slowing down!" - Don't worry about it, just keep cranking on him.
"Viscidus is freezing up! - When you see this, it's a good idea hover your Heroic Leap target a bit out of melee range. Throw does not work in Melee Range.
"Viscidus is frozen solid! - BOOM baby, nail Heroic Leap, face him, and start unloading daggers as fast as you can. It'll be more than enough to force him to shatter.

Once he shatters, he explodes into smaller Oozes, take out as many as you can, a nice Bladestorm where they group up in the center could take care of it pretty quickly.

If you don't get all the slimes, no problem, just repeat the proccess until you dwindle them all down!

I'm sure this can be done in any Warrior spec, but the dual-wielding daggers in Fury spec makes it go much quicker. I hope some of this can apply to other classes as well!

After many attempts I finally killed im as a Ret Pally, Here's what I did:

I bring him down to 1 HP with my normal weapon and then swap in a 1h 1.7 second speed mace with Чары для оружия - сила стихий. It seems to take roughly 20 Elemental Force hits to freeze him solid (10 for slow, 5 for freeze, and 5 for frozen solid). I'm using Эликсир стремительности, Пикантный йогурт, and popping Зелье быстроты right when he is frozen solid.

As far as abilities, I was having trouble until I specced into Sanctified Wrath. About when I think he is going to freeze (about 19 elemental force hits - tracked in Skada) I pop Guardian of Ancient Kings and Avenger's Wrath with five holy power and when he freezes I alternate between Templar's Verdict, Hammer of Wrath, and Crusader Strike - whichever is off CD or closest to. I imagine for any class, popping CDs that increase your haste or ability to spam physical/weapon abilities will make this seem more possible.

It seems like a lot of trouble to get it done and I think it should be easier if it's intended to be soloed, but no doubt it is possible (even though I feel like I got lucky).

Edit: ...and the pet didn't drop for me :(

Boss will die very fast during frozen phase with only these things on him, no need to buy potions and whatnot like many others apparantly did for this encounter.

Failed on my 90 feral druid - totally unprepared for this guy (leave the room and he resets). Rather than get him a weapon with a frost/elemental enchant, I grabbed my old 85 DK; he's blood but did the job - didn't use death strike, instead used to chill him and for damage (didn't need heals, and preferred a microscopic amount of vengeance if possible). When he froze (he gets bluer and bluer and ice finally stuck in ice), pop army and loot.

The boss was apparently hotfixed last night, and is now possible to solo as a Retribution Paladin, not sure of the changes but i was atleast able to get it using a 1.6 Speed weapon with Elemental Force, and then just popping everything when he froze.

Soloed as a mage equipping a dagger for melee hits plus the help of this trinket. The boss freezes at exactly 20 hits from frost damage. Heroism was not neccessary as the guardian and I were able to shatter the boss just in time before he thawed. It took me 3 freezing phases as there are many, many blobs to kill (20, I believe) and they move slowly but eventually become really, really fast to kill.

As of 5.1 Blizz nerfed the number of hits to freeze, and shatter this guy. So, this is totally soloable now with just Frost oil on your weapon.

If you want to speed it up, and can weild them, go pick up a frosty weapon from Warsmith Sigfinna (polearm, bow or axe) and put both Deathfrost and Frost oil on it.

I froze him in about 30 seconds with an enchanted polearm, and killed him in about 5 minutes as a kitty druid. The just frost oil technique takes 15-20 min.

For a caster having troubles shattering this thing alone, try using a couple of pet trinkets like Набатный колокол рода Баровых if you still have that on your bags, C'thun's tentacle trinket also helps,!

Soooooooooo, this was recently hotfixed to be soloable by ANY class. After patch 5.1, I tried and it just didnt work. I just went in about two minutes ago to try again after hearing about the hotfix.

DPS as normal as a fury warrior. Put elemental force on my offhand throw away 2h 3.6 speed sword, and go to town. He started freezing up, and then froze. He stayed frozen long enough for me to shatter him. I didnt use any haste pots/speed enchants or anything. Just Elemental force on one wep is now enough.

Edit: I did nothing special other than the typical Fury warrior "Smash that guys face in".

As a ret paladin I just bought some level 88 healer spell power mace (1h) and put elemental force on it. The fight took 2 minutes and 49 seconds. Hope that helps someone.

Soloed today as an Affliction warlock using Grim of Service, popped DS:M and Grim of Serve, with 2 felpups and the 30% haste it was a easy win, wait till he is at one hp and frozen to do this though. Weapon was Loshan, Terror Incarnate Normal Mode, a 2.20 speed sword.

Just wanted to add my quick strat on solo-killing this boss as a Balance Druid (During patch 5.1).

I got myself the Бруннхильдарский гарпун, got it enchanted with Смертельный мороз, and made sure I had chosen and off cooldown.
I basically nuked him with normal Balance rotation and made sure I got a few swings in on him as I went. Don't get him frozen until he's at least 10% remaining, as you aren't a feral druid :)

Once he was low enough that I was happy with, I put up my dots and kept melee'ing him until he froze. Once frozen, I popped Heart of the Wild, jumped into Cat form and dps'd him down, using the physical damage mechanic.

Solo'd as a 90 Demo Warlock, with Felguard as my pet. Once frozen I popped another Felguard off Grimoire of Service and hit Felstorm. This was enough for him to be shattered.

Just soloed him as Demonology warlock. I usually play as Destruction however was unable to shatter him once he was frozen. I changed to Demo (which I haven't played in a loooong time), summoned up the Felguard, burned him down to 1hp, waited until he froze and then using the Grimoire of Service summoned up a 2nd Felguard and along with the 2 minions just wailed away on him with my staff.....job done.

Note that I didn't use any frost damage whatsoever...no oil, no enchant, no special weapon.....just my Inscribed Serpent Staff with Jade Spirit enchant.

And of course, after all that he didn't drop the pet :(

If you are looking to do this as a solo mage post 5.1 get a trinket that summons a melee pet such as Статуэтка цийлиня. When you freeze the boss use time warp while wielding a fast dagger and with your chosen pet out and you should be able to get enough melee hits to kill him.

Managed to do it on mage with the following:

A 1.6 speed weapon, any will do but I used Клинок Отравленного Разума Статуэтка цийлиня
Got him to 1% then froze him with Ice Lance spam.
Once he was frozen, I used the statuette, lifeblood, time warp and Выжимка кафы, got me to just a hair above 50% haste and was able to shatter him 20-25 seconds in.

hunters put a scratch to that { Brunnhildar Bow } spec BM go tame a from kamagua island northrend that pet actually frreezes viscidus faster then a mage, once viscidus is frozzen use dire beast,lynx rush,stampede,readiness re apply dire beast,lynx rush,stampede and barrage=viscidus dead use also double snake trap with readiness
i solo twin emperors as prot warrior using 450IL weapon 7297k damage the strat i did was stack on a wall so the caster boss cant knock u back and basic he cant keep up on heals on my current gear which are all blues
VISCIDUS ABLE TO KILL AS WARRIOR, method used was :elemental force enchant on weapon,to break the shatered use our OP throw 0.5sec cast,u must make sure u have yr banner on 10 yards away to intervene on it otherwise boss once is frozen you will be too close to him to cast throw x30 times or another way you can use yr heroic leap good luck those

got kills on both classes using the above strats specially the throw ability from my warrior to break the shatter is a joke how fast is going

I just did this on my priests recently, and it seems like shadow fiend does not work on Viscidus as he is Frozen so i did not have enough melee but then i remembered a trinket i found from a rare in Mist of pandaria Терракотовый фрагмент it summons a Terracotta Warrior for 10 minutes and with this "Pet" and my auto attacks i had enough melee to shatter Viscidus.
