Shadowlands Week 5 - Return Lost Souls for 5 More Redeemed Souls and Soulkeeper Upgrade at Renown 15

With the weekly reset, players will once again be able to complete
Вернуть потерянные души
, awarding 5 more
Очищенная душа
with which to upgrade their Covenant Sanctums. This takes the total number of Souls earned in Shadowlands to 25, enough to have upgraded any of the Covenant Sanctum features to tier 2. Players will also unlock their first Soulkeeper Upgrade at renown 15 - allowing them to return more Redeemed Souls from the Maw each week - but it will not take effect until next week's turn in.
If you've been following along with the campaign and weekly quests, you should have earned a total of 25
Очищенная душа
so far, and from here there's not really much to say. At this point, you have enough to start upgrading to tier 2, depending on whether you want to prioritize the Transport Network, Anima Conductor, Command Table, or your Covenant specific activity, and how you prioritize those upgrades will determine how many you have left over. The most interesting thing this week actually comes at the end of your weekly activities - renown 15 rewards the first
Хранитель душ
upgrade, allowing you to return more
Очищенная душа
from The Maw each week, but because we won't unlock it until
after
turning in
Вернуть потерянные души
, it won't actually affect the number of Souls earned this week.
At this point it's hard to say how many
Очищенная душа
you should have left over, since there are many upgrade options available to you. Some players will opt to upgrade just one Covenant feature to tier 2, then bank their future Souls to get it to level 3 as soon as possible, while others may decide on a more even spread of upgrades. Ultimately, there's not really any right or wrong answer; none of the upgrades result in player power, except
Хроника утраченных воспоминаний
from the Anima Conductor, but considering how easy legendary powers are to unlock in Shadowlands, it's most likely inconsequential by the time you're actually able to buy it. The rest are all cosmetic or quality of life rewards, making your Covenant's zone easier to navigate or granting some minor buffs while world questing, so don't agonize it too much, and just prioritize whatever you're most interested in. Because I'm Venthyr and I like to party, I'll be working toward the Ember Court first.
If you upgraded the
Anima Conductor
,
Transport Network
, or
Command Table
to tier 2 last week, you should have 8 souls after turn-ins this week, which is enough to upgrade another of those features to Tier 2 as well. This will leave you with zero souls left over, though the Soulkeeper upgrade should allow you to upgrade the third to tier 2 next week on the 29th.
If you upgraded one of those features to Tier 2 last week, but don't want to upgrade another one this week, you can always hold onto those 8 souls and combine them with those earned next week on the 29th to upgrade your Covenant specific activity (ex:
The Ember Court
) to tier 2, or just continue banking them until you're ready to upgrade something to Tier 3, although that will take a couple weeks longer.
If you held your souls and have 16 available after turn-ins, you can upgrade the Covenant specific activity (ex:
The Ember Court
) to tier 2, leaving you with 4 left over - this will allow you to upgrade another of the three universal features to Tier 2 next week on the 29th.
There's not really any wrong path here. Some players will argue that upgrading the Covenant specific activity first will lead to better rewards faster, but it's a very long grind which may be better to tackle once we can start earning more Redeemed Souls later on, while enjoying the smaller upgrades now. On the other hand, upgrading the Teleportation Network, Anima Conductor, or Command Table don't result in any major improvements, but they are all useful in their own right and a necessary step on the road to tier 3 upgrades, which are much more impactful - for example, your companions healing faster isn't very important, but reducing all mission times by 25% is.
While we recommend not worrying too much about how to spend your Redeemed Souls, you can get an overview of exactly what each feature has to offer and what it takes to upgrade them further in our
Guide to Upgrading Covenant Sanctums with Redeemed Souls
.
Upgrade Covenant Sanctums with Redeemed Souls
Inside, you'll find a more complete overview of each feature, such as the Covenant specific activities detailed below:
Kyrian:
The Path of Ascension
is a boss rush Colosseum in which the players Soulbinds will fight, rather than the player character themselves. Allowing access to Ascension Crafting, special reagents and boss lures to tackle greater challenges, offering better rewards.
Necrolord:
Abomination Stitching
directs you to create new constructs for bodiless souls, granting reputation with the
Штопальщики
, access to special rewards vendors selling unique collectables.
Night Fae:
The Queen's Conservatory
tasks players with finding
Неукрощенный дух
and other wild spirits to nurture within the Conservatory, similar to the
Tiller's Farm
from
Mists of Pandaria
.
Venthyr:
The Ember Court
allows players to host elaborate parties, inviting notable Shadowlands NPCs, arranging the catering and entertainment, dealing with party crashers, and more. The happier your guests, the more
Пепельный двор
reputation and the better tribute received upon completion.
These mini-games offer several rewards, including profession crafting reagents, unique armor appearances, mounts, and other special rewards. Some of them are shared between each Covenant, but many are Covenant specific as well, so choosing where to dedicate your time to get the rewards you want (or simply doing all of them on multiple characters as much as possible!) can be very important to collectors.
