Reminder: Timewalking Raid Loot Amounts Lowered to Shadowlands Drop Rates

One of the core paradigm changes that was announced and implemented for Shadowlands was a reduction in rewards given for completing content. This turnabout from the "loot piñata" that was Battle for Azeroth has many perplexed and chafing at the change. To add possible insult to perceived injury, when Shadowlands launched, the Timewalking raid events had not been adjusted to fit this new way of thinking about rewards and were still dropping loot at the Battle for Azeroth rate. On January 5th,
Blizzard amended this with a hotfix
:
Timewalking: Lowered the amount of loot per person in Timewalking raids to better match Shadowlands raid drop rates.
Unfortunately, this update on top of the paradigm change has been a bitter pill for some players to swallow. Some, rather dramatically,
declare the death of Timewalking raids
, others question why they bother to complete content at all, canceling anticipated events and expressing acute disappointment.
Folks, here is the PSA:
Less loot drops in Shadowlands. This is intended. Play the game to enjoy the game. Do the content that appeals to you.
Timewalking raid loot drops have been brought into line with the rest of the expansion. Set your expectations accordingly.
