Blizzard has paid tribute to Reckful by adding him as a Rogue Trainer NPC in Shadowlands.
Reckful was a pillar of the WoW community and inspired so many players. From his 3000 rating in PvP to trailblazing the way on Twitch for other World of Warcraft players, he was a role model for so many in our community.
After his passing last month, thousands of players
paid tribute by gathering in Stormwind Cathedral and Grommash Hold
.
While Reckful previously had the NPC

, a tribute to his actual name, the new Shadowlands NPC

pays tribute to his persona as a skilled rogue and nickname he was well-known by in the WoW community. While most Rogue trainers are located in Old Town,

is fittingly located in the Cathedral of Light, the place of many community gatherings in his memory.
His NPC also comes with some unique dialogue, as he states "I don't train assassination rogues." and the player has an option to tell

that "It was good seeing you again." Nothing at the moment happens when you select it, but it was a nice touch to add, because we can see him once again in the virtual world of Azeroth.
The line "I don't train assassination rogues" is a homage to Reckful's PvP skills in Wrath of the Lich King - When Assassination Rogue became the meta rogue spec in WotLK, it was considered extremely powerful, but Reckful wanted to prove that he did not need to play an overpowered spec to be good, going as far as not training one of the core abilities of the spec then, Mutilate, and instead reaching Rank 1 in arenas as a Subtlety Rogue. He even posted a screenshot of one of his rogues with Mutilate untrained and the Rank 1 PvP title back then. Thanks to Volitar in the comments for the screenshot!
In addition, emoting Reckful with /hug or /love will cause him to emote back, plus his character will sprout wings. Thanks to Kala, the TFT Manager for Cloud 9, for noticing this touching interaction.
