Shadowlands transports Warcraft players to new fantastical realms, heightened with evocative zone music and memorable dialogue from characters like Bolvar and Sire Denathrius. Using Wowhead's database alongside the new Yeti X Warcraft microphone, you can play around with the new Shadowlands sounds (as well as audio from past expansions) to create exciting audio samples.
The extensive and customizable Warcraft audio sample library is just one feature of the Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone, which also lets you modulate your voice to mimic various WoW races, as well as change the microphone's colors to Alliance and Horde themes.
In this post, we'll highlight how you can use Wowhead's database to import the sounds of Shadowlands into the Yeti X Warcraft microphone, as well as iconic WoW sounds from past expansions you definitely want to add, plus fun samples provided by the microphone itself. We've also included a quick tutorial at the end of this post to microphone setup and basic features--you don't need to be a full-time streamer to utilize all the cool features of the Yeti X Warcraft microphone!

Wowhead's First Look at the Yeti X World of Warcraft Microphone
Warcraft Audio Samples - Bolvar, Sylvanas, Jaina, Thrall
The feature the Wowhead team is most excited about is the Yeti X World of Warcraft's extensive library of Warcraft audio samples, ranging from Shadowlands dialogue to explosions. Using the GHUB app, you can assign audio samples to hotkeys, easily bringing them up to play at fun moments, like defeating a boss or finally getting a mount. Maybe you'll want Bolvar's audio to play when you defeat the Lich King as you farm Invincible!
To access the audio library, click on the "Sampler" button and then browse the available library. The Yeti X World of Warcraft already comes with the following options:
Iconic character quotes from Bolvar, Jaina, Sylvanas, and Thrall
Atmospheric sounds from creatures, zones, and environmental effects
Spell effects from iconic class abilities like Sprint as well as Shadowlands covenants
Warcraft interface sounds like countdown timers, horns, call Pepe, and map pings
Bolvar quote selected from the Sampler library, with list of Thrall audio samples expanded.
In addition to playing these samples, you can also get creative, combining your
own
clips enhanced with Voice Modification on top of these HD audio samples! So for example, you can layer one of Thrall's sounds with your own battlephrase using the Orc effect, so it sounds like you and Thrall are having a conversation.
Importing Warcraft Audio Samples from Wowhead
While the software comes with a large assortment of audio samples, there are millions more audio samples in World of Warcraft. Fortunately, Wowhead has an extensive sound database so you can download your favorite audio and import it into the Yeti X World of Warcraft library.
Wowhead's Sound Database
The Wowhead sound database includes all character dialogue options, zone music, and ambiance effects. If browsing the database feels overwhelming, you can filter by typing in a name of a character or place (no spaces) to narrow down results, or checking out the Sounds tab on a specific NPC or Zone tab. The most popular sound files will be listed at the top of search results.

Once you find a sound you like, visit the specific sound page and click on the download icon!

After the sound is downloaded, you then need to convert the Wowhead sound file into a compatible file for the microphone, such as WAV. Finally click on the "Import" option while on the Blue Microphone "Sampler" tab to upload this sound file. You can then rename it simply by clicking on the title at the top of the screen.

In addition to adding popular clips from the past expansions, you can also experiment with audio from Shadowlands, first listening to it on Wowhead and then playing around with your favorite samples in the Yeti X Warcraft microphone.

Warcraft Voice Modulation - Sound Like An Orc
The Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone offers special WoW filters in addition to standard voice modulation effects, created in collaboration with experts on the Warcraft team. To access these settings, click on the "Microphone" button in the Logitech G Hub and then the "Effects" tab.
To preview how your voice will sound with these modifications, record a short clip via the record button in the center of the screen under "Mic Test." You will here this clip played back to you whenever you test out one of the voice modulation effects.
If you want to customize the sounds further, you can click on any of the options under Pitch or Ambiance to tweak the effects.
The available Warcraft options are:
Characters: Blingtron, Demon, Gnome, Gnome Extreme, Imp, Mechagnome Vocalizer, Orc, The Lich King
Places: Cathedral of Light, King's Chamber, Mechagon Pipe, Pig and Whistle, Stage, Void Echoes
These voices are perfect for a variety of WoW occasions, whether you are RPing your character or describing a boss fight and want to strongly emphasize a tricky part of the fight!

Customize Microphone Colors - Get Alliance and Horde Themes
With the Logitech G Hub you can customize the colors of your microphone. To access customization, click on the "Lighting" button which will bring up options to change Live/Mute, Mode, Metering, and Pattern. The metering option refers to the three volume levels tied to microphone gains, and is the most eye-catching of the bunch as multiple colors can display at the same time.
You can select different colors for each setting, and if you select the same color for multiple options, the software will warn you to avoid confusion. Updates are instantaneous, as your microphone will show the new color as soon as you've selected it.

You can have a lot of fun with these highlights, creating color schemes to represent the Alliance, Horde, Illidan, Lich King, Void, Light, and much more! Here are different color combinations we tried out.

Setting up the Logitech G Hub for Microphone Customization
All of the unique customization options described in this article will require installation of the
Logitech G Hub
. Your Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone will run the basics perfectly fine
without
installation of this software, but you will need it to customize the colors of the microphone runes, modify your voice, and play audio samples. This software also unlocks additional customization options for all other Logitech products, such as keyboards and headsets.
Currently the
Logitech G Hub
options for the Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone are only available for Windows, but Mac users can use a program like
Parallels
to access the special options.
Installation is pretty simple, just
download the software
from Logitech's website and make sure all of your devices are connected. If the microphone doesn't automatically register, unplug and replug it again. Once it's detected, the Logitech G Hub will display the microphone graphic in the center of the screen. Click on it to access the specific options.

Basic Microphone Settings
The Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone comes with four different settings on the back. If you're working from home or podcasting in isolation, you're likely going to use the
Cardiod
option. Just turn the knob to shift between the different sound settings.
CARDIOID: Perfect for podcasting, game streaming, Skype or Discord calls, vocals and instruments, the cardioid setting captures sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone with a rich, full-bodied sound. The cardioid setting rejects sound coming from directly behind the mic, reducing background noise.
OMNI: Short for ‘omnidirectional’, the omni setting picks up sound equally from all around the mic. It’s best used in situations when you want to capture the ambience of ‘being there,’ like a conference call or a podcast with multiple people around a table.
BIDIRECTIONAL: The bidirectional setting records from both the front and the rear of the microphone, which is ideal for podcasting or streaming interviews between two people. The bidirectional setting produces narrow areas of sensitivity and minimizes noise coming from the sides.
STEREO: The stereo setting uses both the left and right channels, and is ideal for capturing a realistic sound image when there are multiple sound sources in front of the mic. This is useful for multi-person podcasts and immersive experiences like ASMR.
On the front of the microphone, you can use the center button to adjust microphone gains, headphone volume, blend, and muting. To determine which option you have selected, look underneath the button to see which icon is highlighted--microphone, headphone, or both.
To mute the microphone, briefly press down on the center button. You'll know when you are muted as the lighting will change color. To toggle between microphone, headphone, and blend settings, press the button down for slightly longer, until you see the lit-up icons change. If you have the Logitech G Hub software installed, you can assign different colors to these options so it's even clearer.
Microphone Gains will allow you to control how you sound when recording, by turning the knob. As your voice gets louder, more runes will fill up, and at higher volumes, the runes will change color. Ideally, your loudest speech will reach one or two of the special-colored runes.
Headphone volume will control the output of your headphone when it's plugged into the microphone directly.
Blend mode is useful when you are utilizing the microphone and headphone at once, such as communicating to a party in the middle of a game with audio effects enabled. Blend control starts off at 50/50 and you can shift the balance by turning the knob left (more microphone) or right (more headset).
