World of Warcraft continues to inspire artists working in all kinds of media. Today we spotlight RafaQQ2571, a photographer who has put their craft to work to produce these wonderful little gems, and
posted them on Reddit
for us all to enjoy. Using
PTGui's
panoramic image stitching software and their
Little Planet
stereographic projection along with Photoshop for editing, RafaQQ2571 has created Little Planets out of screenshots. The results are these beautiful, slightly mindbending little zone orbs.
The first of these creations that RafaQQ2571 shared was this stereographic view of Nagrand in Draenor. You can clearly see the Warsong Lookout tower and the autumnal trees where Nagrand meets Talador as well as clan banners and roofs, and even the Spire of Light in the distance. This view of Nagrand is comprised of 145 screenshots, painstakingly stitched together and tuned into a little emerald floating in space with the moons of Draenor as a backdrop.
The other Little Planet that RafaQQ2571 has shared is this ominous view of The Maw with Torghast and the broken sky as a background. The Little Planet Maw was created with over 150 screenshots, gathered despite the plethora of Maw mobs who don't support the arts. Before this image, I hadn't appreciated how spiky and cruel The Maw truly is.
Thank you RafaQQ2571 for sharing these stunning creations. We look forward to seeing many more in the future.
