Patch 8.2.5 Survival Guide
Patch 8.2.5 will be releasing on September 24th (US) / 25th (EU)!
This new content patch includes the
conclusion of the War Campaign
, updated
Goblin
and
Worgen
, a new
questline involving the Black Prince
, a
Dreamgrove Murder Mystery
and
Firelands Timewalking
.
The
15th Anniversary of WoW
will take place in Patch 8.2.5. This awards a

pet for logging in, and you'll be able to revisit notable bosses from the Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm which award the

mount, inspired by Deathwing! In addition, an "old school" version of Alterac Valley will be available during the event, allowing you experience the old Alterac Valley. Participating in old Alterac Valley will earn you the new

This patch will also release the

at some point during it, which will include a new mount, armor set, and pet! When you play with your friends,
Party Sync
will allow you to revisit previous quests and storylines and play with your friends, even if you're different levels! A new Alliance questline has also been added for Alliance players to aid the
Honeyback Hive
faction to get the

Increased the size of the visual indicating where a player will resurrect after accepting a resurrection during combat.

Golbin and Worgen have gone without updates since being introduced in the Cataclysm, and their overall form is not much changed, though the new models now have more bones and better definition in some areas. There's a lot to look at, including new skins, eyes, hair, and faces, so make sure to check out PTR posts for the ful list

The War Campaign concludes in Patch 8.2.5! However, no quests for the War Campaign were available to be tested on the PTR. No spoilers or datamining for these quests, so everyone will be able to experience this first hand.
However, we've noticed there are
two encrypted cinematics
or run times 3:18 and 6:18. Are these part of the War Campaign finale? We'll have to find out starting Tuesday.
We don't know how many quests unlock a week or if it'll all unlock on one day. But according to
some
tweets
from Blizzard employees, it seems to indicate it'll all be possible on release day! Make sure you're caught up on the War Campaign; Patch 8.2.5 removes the reputation requirements.
Be excited! This is the first time that something hasn't been on the PTR is a long time.
Playing with friends of different levels is even easier in Patch 8.2.5 due to the new Party Sync feature.

When you activate Party Sync, everyone in the party will in the same quest state and phase. This comes with some really awesome features:
If your friend is on a quest that you've already completed, you can
Replay the Quest
. You'll get rewards that are appropriate for your level and you can replay quests for rewards once a day.
You can choose to temporary
adjust your level
, so that you can quest and experience content with lower-level friends.
Apart from the War Campaign, there are some other new quests.
A new questline to find
the Black Prince
in order to save Spiritwalker Ebonhorn
A
Dreamgrove Murder Mystery
questline and scenario appears to have been added.

Recruit a Friend will return at some point during Patch 8.2.5 in a new way!
New rewards for 'Veteran' accounts
- including several months of game time, one pet, two mounts, an illusion, a title, a tabard, and several pieces of cosmetic gear. More details later on in the guide.
A new interface to recruit friends
- there is now an in game link and interface to invite your friends to join you, meaning you can invite them directly from the game.
Link up to 10 friends to your account
- Up to four friends per month can use your invite to be linked to your account, with a maximum of 10 total linked friends. You can generate a new invite monthly. Each player who purchases game time will count towards obtaining your overall rewards, adding up over time.
Ongoing game time rewards
- After the first 12 months of rewards, you will now receive a free month for every three months of game time your recruited friend purchases, prior to the 12 month period.
Recruited players no longer need to be completely new
- As mentioned before, players who have not had an active subscription or game time for 2 years and over can be recruited and linked to your account.

A new Timewalking raid is being added, similar to the previously reintroduced Black Temple and Ulduar Timewalking that will be available during Cataclysm Timewalking week.

When Cataclysm Timewalking is active, max-level players will be able to form a raid group and enter the Sulfuron Spire once more. As with previous Timewalking raids (Black Temple, Ulduar), your gear and power are scaled to the challenge, and all the bosses and rewards you expect lie in wait.

A handful of beautiful butterflies are available, with multiple variations of

, these are available from Stormsong Valley.
