While it is a common misconception that China outright bans images of skeletons and blood in video games, it is the case that games like World of Warcraft likely self-censor to a degree to expedite the passage of new expansions through the rigorous and time consuming review required by SART/NRTA, the Ministry of Culture, and other content screening offices. Once a game is live in the majority of the world, any delay in its release in China would be costly enough that it is worth changing any images that may make any official with control over the game's release look twice. This has resulted in some game models that are interesting to compare to the ones that most of us are used to. What, might you think, would they'd do with a zone like Maldraxxas?
