Blizzard announced on the in-game login screen and Battle.net launcher that the maintenance for October 13th, or the release of the Shadowlands pre-patch, will take longer than usual. According to the Battle.net launcher, the maintenance for US servers will start at 7am PDT and is scheduled to end at 3pm PDT.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance beginning on Tuesday, October 13th, 7:00 AM (PDT) and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 3:00PM (PDT). During this time the game will be unavailable to play.
