Big Dumb Golden Guardians co-founder and general manager Bloo sat down with guild officers Shampy, Comfy, Lozy and Dbzy to
discuss Mythic Castle Nathria
, sharing insights and predictions going into the Mythic Race for World First! As one of the premier progression raiding guilds in World of Warcraft, BDGG made a strong showing in Mythic Ny'alotha, coming in NA 2nd/World 14th, and we've
partnered with the guild
to produce high quality Mythic content and guides for Castle Nathria.
We won't cover everything discussed in the video here, but highlights include:
GM, Co-Founder, and Raid Leader Lozy discussing his role as "The 21st Raider" - a dedicated raid leader who coaches from the sidelines for increased communication coordination, rather than participating as a playable character in the raid. BDGG has been utilizing this tactic since Antorus, the Burning Throne in Legion, though more and more guilds have started to embrace the concept, particularly among the top-end progression raid community.
Comfy, reflecting on ranged mechanics from the DPS point of view, based on several tiers and several years of experience playing as a Mage in the guild.
Dbzy, the guilds newly promoted Main Tank discussing the tank perspective, and how the exclusive role stands out from the rest of the raid experience.
Shampy, commenting on the no less important role of raid healing, particularly in a progression setting which frequently mandates underhealing and healers contributing DPS in order to overcome encounters while undergeared.
Other topics include the unique gothic theme of the raid, the leadership's favorite bosses, more restrictive early gearing without titanforging or corruption to inflation, how long they believe it will take before any guild clears the raid on Mythic difficulty, new and challenging mechanics present in the encounters outside of the normal DPS checks progression raiding is known for, how strict raid compositions will be with the influence of immunities and disparity between melee or ranged classes, the influence of Covenants in Shadowlands, the hardest fights for each role, which fights might take progression guilds by surprise, as well as the impact and reasoning behind progression raiders using multiple characters.
There's a lot to go over, so make sure you check out the full video, and get ready to follow BDGG as they join the
Race to World First Castle Nathria
tomorrow!
