Very good feral druid head. Looks badass too. Dropped first time I ran ZF with Druid toon.
Also valid for Enhancement shaman if no-one else needs. Good until we can
and probably still better for solo grinding. Looks great too.
Looks the best on a Troll, because of the tusks. Too bad I'm a priest and could only ctrl-click try it on.
Amazing stamina, though, for what I've seen.
Man this one looks awsome :D as you guys said the +stam is amazing sad that im warlock.. :(
Also good choise for hunters, shamans, warriors, paladins.
I won this one today on my first ZF run. Rolled against a druid. Too bad I'm only 43:(
I've been using this maybe the past week or so on my Enchament Shaman, and works like a charm. I even gave up Khan's Head for this.
<3 the attack power bonus as a flurry Dagger Shaman.
Lordrec Helmet (Alliance) and Undercity Reservist's Cap (Horde) are possible upgrades/sidegrades from this item for a feral druid and anyone else that wants agility (crit) instead of pure attack power. They are also obtainable by quests that are doable from level 47-49, so if you can get this item then use it, but don't go out of your way to farm for it unless you want to for some other reason.
Helm of fire:
Righteous Helmet of the Monkey:
These are the best substitutes for rogues at this level. The helm of fire can be made, has plenty of agi and sta and a very nice bonus of fire resistance. It will also hit for 300+ damage. The other hat has 15agi and 15sta which is also nice
It dropped on my 6 run, but i didnt get it since druid needed (he had gotten almost everything else in the instance). To those who dont know how to get it, u must complete the "stairs" challenge. After that talk to the goblin (make sure not to talk to Bly, cus if u do, they will all go against u), but the goblin will blow up a door, and behind that, the boss is..
During the 2 levels I've used this, I've noticed a recurring growl/snarl sound... I thought it could be the Kodo, then it occured while flying. Now I'm led to believe I had heard the sound more often due to wearing this. Can anyone support or refute this theory?
As a feral druid, without any points in furor, I find it hard to decide between this helm and
. The +rage and +energy on shapeshift from wolfshead is extremely useful, allowing me to feral charge right after a shapeshift. But the lack of stats on it hurts quite a bit. You would think they could do better than +10 spirit on it. Anyone think ones better than the other?
as a balance druid, would this be any useful since u get mana based on attack power or stick with
Ok, I have a problem. I will soon have a 49 twink enhancement shaman. I am not sure whether or not to acquire the Embrace of the lycan or the Raging berserker's helm. I will get the +8 strength enchant to whichever head piece I choose.
for the best level 49 Enhancement Shaman twink item, well worth the required effort.
i've ran ZF 15 times with my friend this hasn't droped once... i'll keep tryingm8
I'm making a 49 enhancement shaman twink. which do you guys think is better, Bloomsprout Headpiece, or Embrace of the Lycan?
Is it possible to add a libram to this item? I hear you can if you have a higher lvl character apply it as you would an enchant.
Ran ZF 6 times trying to get this helm.
Chief's Enforcer x5
Big Bad Pauldrons x1
I don't want a crappy downgrade Blizz! Keep your damn staff and give me something I can use. Frickin huntards wearing this helm cause it looks "cool" and I can't get one to save my life.
I'll craft myself a Helm of Fire and be done with it.
Edit: 6 times at the time of writing, yes. When all was said and done, also 30+ runs and I had got a better drop elsewhere. Downvoting a 4 year old comment is fun.
what better this or the helm of fire
I got this on my 4th Ukorz kill. I think I'm lucky, as it supposedly has a 9-10% drop rate. :) Good luck.
%$^! this drop-rate.
30+ huh, got it my first run, and i didnt even know it dropped
I have seen it drop twice in three runs.
Not to mention one of the coolest looking headpieces I've seen, especially at that level. For my Tauren druid anyway, I just looked at the screenshots of allies, hillarious!
Do not wear it as a gnome.
looks ezpecially awesome on a male orc
i think that it should go to fearl druids/ench shammys and rogues
I've been trying to get this on my twink.
On run number 8 and it hasn't dropped. Whats with the 14% drop chance!
Got it last night on my 44 rogue, on my first try.
I was looking through AtlasLoot as we were running up the ramp to the boss, and linked it in party chat and said "ooh I hope this drops" sure enough, it dropped and then I rolled 100 for it.
Sucks for the ones who are farming without being able to get it, but heh just glad I got it :D
Another drop from this boss are the BIG BAD Pauldrons.
This is a wolf's head.
Make the link.
Is Embrace of the Lycan good for a rogue? :]
i think this is pretty damn nice for a lvl 49 druid twink. if theres anything better plz tell me.
It's really hard to get, a 14% drop rate.
I've killed him about 15 times and no drop.
While it may have been true that
Helm of Exile
provided no attack power to a shaman, it is not as of now.
Changed in patch 3.0.2, shaman gain a point of AP per strength and per agility, as well as a point of AP from intellect (from patch 3.0) through the talent
. While this item may be better in some regards, taking
Helm of Exile
is not a bad choice, especially if you don't feel like waiting for this to drop, given that it increases both melee critical hit chance (through agility) and spell critical hit chance (through intellect), both of which an enhancement shaman would benefit from.
Though any enhancement shaman would benefit more from
they feel like farming an instance for a helm to use in the 40s PvP bracket (46 AP as opposed to 40 from Embrace and 29 from Exile, while also providing 18 stamina compared to 16 from Lycan and none at all from Exile). There would also be less competition for rolls on Bloomsprout (hunters and possibly warriors and paladins, as they do benefit from it as well, even if not quite as much due to no AP through agility) than with Embrace (which has a benefit to pretty much every melee DPS class at that level, though not as much to rogues and shaman, due to only a single point of AP per strength). The loss of spell critical chance from Exile is made up for with the extra attack power, as, at that level, enhancement's main source of spell damage is through shock spells, as they won't have
for several more levels to make using
often a wise choice.
Helm of Exile
is not an optimal choice for an enhancement shaman, but not a poor one, either.
This was in reponse to acolight's comment up above, but for some reason the reply option didn't link my comment to theirs.
A number of rare (blue) items were updated in patch 3.3. The Embrace of the Lycan is one of them.
The helmet used to have 5 spirit instead of the recent 9 critical strike rating.
I've just run through Zul'Farrak 31 times and finally this dropped...
I can tell you one thing about this! IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! this head is awesome =)
i can't wait till cata comes out and we start seeing worgen with this on.
Also known as the "Wearwolf"
I got mine just in time for halloween soloing while I was bored...lol
Looks cool on my Draenei DK. I wish it had been BoE -Id have passed it to my druid alt.
Gonna be sweet for Transmorgrifying!
On a Blood Elf this gives new meaning to the term
one of the closest items to matching the frostwolf set for a helm. very few wolf helms.
